The villa stands within its own grounds which is extremely peaceful. It has wonderful views to sea, mountain and village, private swimming pool, garden and car parking area. Villa has two bedrooms with king size beds both with en suite bathrooms, plus each bedroom has a balcony area. Downstairs is a modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven, microwave. There is a unity room with washing machine. The lounge has two sofa beds. There is also an additional bathroom downstairs.
We arrived late at the Villa due to flight times and had hired a car so we had an interesting night time drive! The villa is spotless and very well equipped and is in a fantastic location for a peaceful break. The pool and patio area were great with lovely views of the mountain, sea and village. We found a hire car useful for visits to Knossos, Ag Nicholas and Lidl! The Lidl is about 15-20 mins drive away and ideal for stocking up on food and drink for around the villa. We walked to the beach on a couple days, the walk back is a drag but made better by the knowledge of Spiros taverna and a cold beer awaiting you. The village is small but everyone we met were very friendly and Spiros & Debbie are great hosts at their taverna. I would highly recommend this villa for a relaxing holiday in great surroundings and would definitely look to return in the near future. The owners Lisa & Kirk were very helpful during the booking process and also assisting with any issues that arose during our stay.
We are 2 couples just back from a wonderful holiday in Lisa and Kirk's villa. The villa was the perfect size for us with 2 king size bedrooms, both en-suite and both with balconies. Lisa and Kirk were in Crete when we arrived, we got a taxi from the airport and Kirk met us in the village and took us to the villa, this was a real bonus as we arrived late and it was so nice to be shown round the villa on arrival. The villa was spotless with ample bedding and towels. Lisa and Kirk were really helpful and answered all queries very quickly, before, during and after our stay. We have stayed in villas for a good few years now and I can honestly say this was the best swimming pool we have had. The decking round the pool and sunbeds were great. The covered terrace outside the villa now has a large wooden table with 6 chairs and an umbrella, not the small white table showing in the photos. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and eating at the villa, which we did most evenings and enjoyed our al fresco dining. Out of the villa to the left and 10 minutes walk up a steep hill takes you to the old village of Pano Gouves with 2 small supermarkets, a bakery and 3 tavernas. We had drinks in them all and had meals in Alvi's and Spiros, both well worth a visit. Out of the villa, turn right and walk down for 1 mile takes you to Valentina's apartments, pool bar, supermarket and gift shop, also to the main road at Kato Gouves where you can get buses or taxis. We took a taxi to Hersonnisis for 15 euros for 4 of us, well worth it. We hired a car for our last 4 days and went to Spinalonga, Elounda and Mirtos beach. A car isn't entirely necessary but worth it for a few days to see more of the island. We would love to come back to Crete in the future and would definitely stay at this villa again.
This is a lovely, spacious villa with a fantastic pool. Very private and well maintained. Only 10 minutes walk to the centre of a beautiful Cretan village where we were made very welcome by the locals, particularly Spyros and Debbie in their taverna. Lisa was very helpful both before and during our stay and we will return.
This was our 2nd visit to the villa and we had a fabulous time yet again.
A perfect place to relax and rewind!
Lisa as always is so helpful if you have any questions etc about the villa.
The property was exactly as we expected from the description. Quiet area with a lovely pool. The tavernas in the local village were good.
Would definitely recommend having a car.
Lisa, the owner, was very helpful.
The directions could have been clearer although we did find the property with only one wrong turn. I wouldn't have wanted to arrive in the dark.
We stayed for 5 nights in May and had a thoroughly wonderful break. The villa absolutely lived up to our expectations. It was extremely clean, comfortable, with modern facilities and it was all very well-maintained.
The villa is slightly out of the village and a little tricky to find but that just means extra peace and quiet. We didn't have a car but that wasn't a problem. The main road with the buses was a bit of a walk but not too far. The buses were very cheap and frequent so travelling around was easy. Not everyone in the area knew the villa and we had difficulties ordering a taxi (we didn't actually know the address). In the end we met the taxi in the village. The village was itself is very quaint with lovely views and the locals were amazingly friendly and incredibly generous. We tried all the tavernas at least once and they were, without exception, worth visiting.
The owner, Lisa, could not have been more helpful. She responded to all our communications very promptly and checked to make sure we had arrived safely. My only criticism would be that some of the information supplied and the directions to the property could have been clearer and more comprehensive but having said that we managed fine.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this villa and in fact I will probably be booking again myself!
