About ODETTE GALLOWAY
My husband and I with 1 daughter, 1 dog and a hamster live in the hustle and bustle England. We both work hard so love to relax and wind down by going on holiday as much we can afford. But with increasing work loads and keeping up with the demands of private education, it has become difficult to get away as much as we did before. This is why holiday letting the villa seemed a sensible option for us.

A well equipped villa
Finding the place was a nightmare as we used Apple Maps and they take you to an address where there is the remains of where once stood a villa. Google maps however will get you there no problem.
The bedrooms are spacious and not uncomfortable, there is ample space to unpack and very clean.
The kitchen has everything you need and BBQ tools too although they are a little worse for ware.
The internet proved to be fast and the tv available was decent, not that we watched it.
The pool was cloudy which ruined it a bit, though probably due to them building a road along side. The ceramic tiles surrounding the pool were deadly definitely a design flaw we were all like Bambi on Ice. And the shower by the pool didn’t work.
Communication from property managers was awesome even at midnight on our arrival date. And the last minute late check out was awesome. They came up trumps for us.
Location is ok, not too far away from where you want to be but you definitely need transport. And the building work over the road gave the pool some dust issues but wasn’t ommiting any noise really.
Great for families and young kids
Lovely week at this Villa. Pool size perfect for the kids. We stayed as a group of 4 adults and 4 kids, perfect sized villa and rooms for us. About 20min walk to the nearest shop (and it’s only a small one with essentials). 40-60mins walk to main resort. Car hire definitely recommended. We hired a mini bus from Cicar for €350 for the week dropped off at the airport. Some lovely restaurants in Playa Blanca. Dorada (I think!) beach was lovely too.
The Villa is a great size for multiple families but is not well equipped. The sofas to the front room are rattan garden sofas so not particularly comfortable for extended sitting. The towels all need replacing, are thin and rough. The bathrooms are a good size but only one has a standing shower - the jacuzzi baths in the other bathrooms were high so not great for anyone with mobility issues and the jacuzzi outlets look like they need a full deep clean. The oven only has one rack so not suitable for cooking for a larger party as you can only cook one rack at a time. We found eating out in Playa Blanca good value though so we ate out for most of our two week stay. The door to the main double bedroom did not work so there was no external air to that room. In any event, we couldn’t leave windows open because there is construction work adjacent to the villas which leaves a think layer of dust throughout the property on a daily basis. The property needs more glassware and crockery, particularly some decent cereal bowls. The Bedrooms to the bottom of the villa have no mirrors and the main bedroom at the bottom seemed to be lacking some furniture? The listing also indicates the property would have the benefit of a clean once during the two week stay but this did not happen although the pool was cleaned twice. A car is a must as the walk to Playa Blanca is a good 25/30 minutes and uphill on the return. Although the property did not live up to the listing and needs some updating we did enjoy our stay in playa Blanca overall. We did a lot of touring on the island as the roads are easy to navigate and would definitely return to the area. We recommend the market at Teguise on a Sunday, the karting just outside Puerto Del Carmen, the volcano tour at mount Teide and the twice weekly markets at the Marina in Playa Blanca. We also had a good afternoon in the waterpark at playa blanca. Be aware that taxi drivers cannot find the villa on the basis of the address on the listing and most referred to the area as Las Altos. Taxis from playa blanca upto the villa were only 5 euros and plentiful/easy to find.
Thank you for your review Mark. We are very sorry that you had a disappointing experience. It was unfortunate that you were caught in the crossfire of the outgoing management company, who were at the time doing a very unsatisfactory job. Many of the things you mentioned have now rectified by the new management company, who are doing a fantastic job!
Amazing views, loads of space. Owner very helpful and quick to respond to queries. We had a wonderful time, would recommend.
I stayed in the villa for 8 nights, lovely welcome on arrival with nice welcome pack of basic essentials. The villa faces the ocean and has lovely mountain views on the left, lovely sunrises in the morning, the sun is behind the villa in the evening. The villa has off road parking (a car is essential in my opinion it’s a 20-30 min walk to town/beach and it’s easy to drive around Lanzarote) at the end of a cul-de-sac. It can be a bit noisy with traffic and cars turning but not too disturbing. The villa is well equipped with dishwasher, microwave, oven and washing machine, plus satellite TV and a DVD player. The outside area is nice for outdoor dining, space around the pool is quite tight and the floor is very slippery when wet, but the pool is a decent size for a dip. All in all a lovely place to stay.
Fab villa excellent base for our holiday
Owners communicated well with me from booking to arrival. Easy to find the villa in the resort.
Large drive suitable for 3-4 cars. Huge villa suitable for 2 families as there’s 2 double rooms and both opposite ends of the villa. 2 Great kids rooms with 4 singles if needed.!
Kitchen is basic but has everything you need, we didn’t cook there as eating out is so reasonable.
The heated pool is a bonus which we even used in November!
Bathrooms clean with jacuzzi bath although water pressure is low in showers.
Beds comfy , linen towels adequate amount.
Definitely need a rental car as villa is way out of the resort. So much to explore in the area too.
Alarm fitted in the villa plus a safe.
Very reasonable price for the rental.
Loved the friendly ginger stripy cat that visited us every day. She waited for us by front door.
Although villas are close to each other we were not bothered with much noise apart from an odd barking dog!
Drank lots of local wine , pink gin and ate some amazing food.
Great holiday and would defo give recommendation for this villa.
Nearest beach 2.8km is Playa Flamingo beach; child-friendly with sun-bed hire and nearby cafes etc. There are other beaches in Playa Blanca a little further away which are all worth a visit. There is a wide choice of restaurants and bars along the seafront in Playa Blanca. You can enjoy a stroll along the promenade from the town to Marina Rubicon where there is a good choice of more exclusive shops and restaurants and a bowling alley.
Arrecife airport is approx 40 mins drive. If you hire a car, the journey to the villa is very straightforward otherwise taxis are always available. We recommend car hire. There are plenty of coach tours you can take to see the island. There is also a taxi rank conveniently close by.

Playa Blanca is a busy but not over-crowded town in the southern most part of Lanzarote. With its sandy beaches, good choice of cafes, bars and restaurants and plenty of shopping it is an ideal holiday destination. We think it’s the sunniest part of the island! Lanzarote has plenty of interesting places to visit; Timanfaya National Park, Papagayo Beach, El Golfo black sand beach with its amazing volcanic coastline, all of which are never a great distance away.
The island has a magnificent landscape, ranging from the mountainous green north to the lunar-like volcanic south. And pretty much all year round sunshine!
