At one time the building was the Free Church of Scotland and retains much of that character. Recently renovated to a high standard it now offers a "home away from home"; everything you need for comfort is provided, from luxury bedlinen, scented candles and fluffy towels. The property is five minutes walk from the local shop, yet retains a feeling of being away from it all as it is located up a private lane that provides no through road. All appliances are less than three years old and a modern under floor heating system and wood burning stove provide comfort at all times of year. The living space is open plan to the kitchen and is a double height space, with a gallery to the upstairs, letting in loads of natural light. The bathrooms are modern, with both bath and shower available. Outside the property is not overlooked. There is a lovely patio with sun chairs and wooden fixed picnic table, in a wee sun trap. Parking is easy and there is plenty of space for four cars or more. Set in mature pine forest, yet south facing to the patio doors at the rear you could not pick a better location for a family holiday.

This is a rare gem.
We booked at fairly short notice and didn't really have have huge expectations. We really wanted to spend Christmas in the area where I grew up and to enjoy the walks and peace and quiet of the location.
We were greeted on arrival by mulled wine and Christmas biscuits! The owners had also sourced a Christmas Tree for us and also left bags of decorations in case we didn't manage to pack any.
The log burner was a huge hit, the kitchen was extremely well stocked with gadgets, and we didn't lack anything. The utility room is extremely useful and there's a fantastic supply of hot water too with fabulous showers upstairs and downstairs.
The local shop is fantastically well stocked and we enjoyed eating also in the local coffee houses and pub.
One major bonus was the snow which started on Christmas Day in the evening and lasted the week. We managed to go sledging!
I really can't make any negative comments about our stay there and we'll be booking to return.
Thanks for your lovely review and I am so glad that you had such a lovely time. I hope you can come again soon. Sara
Beautiful cottage, peaceful and airy with so many sites and experiences within easy reach
A home from home. The cottage has all you need. Some peaceful dog walks with amazing views all close by. Beautiful scenic lochs with the back drop of the mountains. Will visit again.
Lovely cottage in an amazing location , the whole family enjoyed the stay
Lovely modern warm cottage , with plenty of space. Lovely walks right behind the cottage in the wood , ideal for morning dog walks , luckily we had snow and skiing at the lecht was good for the family. Would definitely come again .
Very glad you had a nice time. Cairngorm is closer for skiing but the Lecht has handy access for families, is cheaper and can be less prone to being blown off by gales! We look forward to welcoming you back to the house. Sara
Second visit to this property. We love it. It’s great for the dogs with the forest outside the door. It’s lovely and cosy on a cold winter day/night and the log burner adds to that. Plenty of space for the little ones to play.
Carrbridge is a beautiful village and Aviemore is only 10 minutes away. Overall - perfect
Bright and modern yet retaining cosy cottage feel. Perfect holiday accommodation in beautiful area.
Great living space; charming cottage
This is a lovely place, great facilities, well turned out, convenient for all of the Cairngorms...I can't recommend it enough.
So glad you had a nice time, despite some very wet weather at times. We hope you'll come back soon.
Coast/Beach: Easy access to sand at Loch Morlich and Loch an Dorb, coast within easy reach at Nairn, Findhorn etc Travel: 30 minutes to Inverness, 15 minutes to Aviemore. Nearest airport Inverness 45 minutes. Distances: 2 hours 30 minutes from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Further Details: Landmark Forest Park is close to the property and is a fantastic experience for adults and children alike. You can walk through the forest to the park in about 5 minutes. Even with a toddler it is walkable and this avoids the biz of the car park at high season. It also means you can buy a season pass and visit first thing and last thing for a short while each day. The property is also well situated for many Carrbridge forest walks. You can mountain bike from the front door.
