Guestbook comments from the owner

“Lovely! Compact & Cosy, everything at your finger tips!”

My two adult daughters & I had a lovely two night stay in this ideal, fully equipped flat. Captains Rest was the perfect choice. We had everything we needed to go out exploring for the day then come in for the evening to cook our meals & chat around the table. Complimentary wine was a bonus. Thank you Lee for being in phone contact & directing us.

Highly recommend Captains Rest, I am so pleased we found you.

“A Tidy flat, close to some fantastic Scenery”

Very pleased with the flat and with the owner who was more than happy to help with anything I needed. There is parking right outside the flat and the location means you are ten minutes from the wonderful harbourside,is great for exploring Dartmoor and so many other areas. The city centre is also quite nice.

“Arrived to a warm welcome, apartment lovely and clean .”

Well equipped, just like being at home, a lovely complimentary bottle of wine, fruit and flowers.

We expected a decent flat to stay for a couple of nights, but this place was just excellent! It was airy and light, decorated with good taste and in accordance with the era of the building, and it looked like some original features had been preserved here and there. All the furniture was comfortable and solid. While there was only one double bed, the extra foldable bed and sofa bed were comfortable enough so that the rest of us could have a good night's sleep. The semi-open kitchen added even more space and was well equipped for all our cooking needs. It was even stocked with some essential foods and snacks when we arrived, which was a very positive surprise.

The flat was very conveniently located for the Torpoint ferry for access to Cornwall, and had decent bus links to get to the city centre and elsewhere. Even the immediate surrounding areas had a few good pubs and charity shops worth a visit. Otherwise the surroundings were clean and quiet and family-friendly.

When we start planning our next trip to Plymouth, this will be the first apartment we'll look at!

Lovely little apartment, really only suitable for two adults and possibly a child.

We booked this property as we were visiting Plymouth to visit family. The apartment is very clean, welcoming and equipped for 2 adults. There is a lovely double bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge which has a very thin mattress. We left our parents and checked into a B&B for our 2nd night as could not sleep!

That said, my parents had a lovely time and there was a nice touch with some basic supplies left.

Owner's Response: Very pleased that your parents enjoyed their stay but sorry to hear that you were not happy. I wish that you had contacted me at the time. The apartment is advertised as one bedroom plus sofa bed in the sitting room. The sofa bed is fairly standard with a sprung base. The apartment has bedding, towels, sofa seating, dining table and chairs, crockery and cutlery for 4 people but as said above, it is a one bedroom flat as described and shown in the photos.
