About the property

Haldon View, cottage on the River Teign, Combeinteignhead near Shaldon, South Devon, England - Peaceful location but also ideal for trips to Dartmoor and the attractions of the English Riveria.

Character cottage for 4 (1 double + 1 twin) with stunning views over the estuary. A most unusual cottage situated right on the River Teign, this Victorian chalet can be approached across a field or, when the tide is out, along the foreshore. At high tide the river laps off the walls and swans paddle past. Comfortably furnished and cosy with a log burning stove, the sun room (used as a dining room) is excellent for bird-watching, whilst the surrounding area is ideal for fishing, sailing, windsurfing and water-skiing, with great walks as close as the front and back door, and golf nearby. Please note that there are 18 steps down to the front door and parking is 200m from Haldon View. Dartmoor, Newton Abbott, Dartmouth, Exeter and Torbay are all close by.

Relaxing location

  • 5 of 5

We had such a relaxing holiday. Lazy days by the water, days out in Devon then evenings in the local pub before heading back to the tranquility of the property. Perfect holiday and the dog loved it!

Tranquil dog paradise.

  • 5 of 5

Well presented riverside property in a spectacular setting right in the waters edge with steps down onto the shingles at low tide. We loved the cottages appearance, it's quirky and extremely well equipped, even down to the little extras like bird & seashore books. Nice sized patio and lovely grassy garden for the dog to enjoy as well as strolls along the shingles. We loved watching birds and the tides. Comfy bed and furniture inside. Well worth the money.
