About Mr Simon Forde

Sue and Simon have always enjoyed the French way of life. We have always had our family holidays over here and visited many different regions in France. It was not a difficult decision when we decided to do something different in our lives.

So, here we are and hope you might enjoy this too!

Mr Simon Forde purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Mr Simon Forde chose Châteauneuf-du-Faou

Having moved to France 3 1/2 years ago, Sue and Simon are now able to offer holidays in our tranquil, rural location. Away from the never ending of noise of traffic and people, we are able to offer something completely different to the everyday routine. We would like others to share our 'new life' and hope they will enjoy the experience as much as we have.

Absolutely fabulous!!

Gite was just perfect for our stay, would have loved to stay longer! We felt very at home and the gite was just like the photos on website. Easy to find and beautiful quiet location. Simon and Sue were very welcoming and helpful hosts. Good choice of local supermarkets and shops. Enjoyed visiting Heulgoat, Crozon Peninsula, Lac de Guerlédan and walking along the Nantes-Brest Canal. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this gite to anyone looking for a peaceful relaxed break.

Well done to Simon and Sue - you've got it spot on!!

Simply the Very Best

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay. My wife and I visited for a week in August 2016 and wished we could have stayed longer. This is a superb property; very well maintained, equipped, clean and comfortable. It has all the mod cons you need for your stay, yet still retains a rustic Breton charm.

Very well located, just some 3 miles from the nearest town - Chateauneuf -du -Faou, which has a supermarket, restaurants/bars/cafes, bakeries etc. I would cycle along the peaceful country road most mornings to collect bread for breakfast - a great way to start the day.

The location is ideal for exploring the Southern Finistere area of Brittany and the roads are a joy to drive on.

The property is surrounded by some lovely walks and the nearby canal where you can cycle along the towpath to Chateauneuf and refresh yourself at one of the canal side bars/cafes.

However, and best of all, you will not receive a warmer welcome from your hosts and their two ultra friendly dogs. Nothing is too much trouble and they have all the local knowledge to make your stay memorable.

I would highly recommend this property and we will be back to stay again.

But don't just take my word for I, find out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Very well presented property set in a peaceful location. well fitted kitchen with all you need if you want to cook. Light and spacious living room & dining area very

comfortable to just sit and relax in. we had no problem sleeping, very peaceful very comfortable bed, good quality bedding.

Very good shower plenty of hot water. We found the property to be spotlessly clean throughout , and had all you need for a perfect trouble free relaxing holiday. Simon and Sue were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome,

as did the dogs, very friendly.

we would have no problem recommending our friends and family to stay at this delightful property, and will be going back again..

Beautiful,peaceful and friendly

  • 5 of 5

The property was ideal base in a pretty setting with the best hosts ever. The area had loads to explore and makes an ideal base for walking, cycling or exploring by car. We were made to feel welcome and were given assistance and advice if we asked for it. The owners have a small holding which has hens, ducks and geese and this added to the lovely atmosphere already provided by the beautiful "petit mason" I would recommend this to anyone who loves peaceful holidays with access to beaches, national parks and canal.

Lovely gite

  • 5 of 5

This is an immaculate gite with everything you need provided.

A very peaceful location, perfect for walking and cycling along the canal and only 5km from the town of Chateauneuf -du-Faou with all its amenities. Sue and Simon are lovely hosts and make you very welcome, as do the dogs Ella and Lula. Definitely a place to return to.
