Guestbook comments from the owner

All the comforts of home and more! High standard facilities and roomy accommodation made it perfect for our needs.

A car is essential as the setting is rural. Shops and large towns are some distance.

We were very un-lucky with the weather but found the log fire a great comfort on our return from the wanders of the day. 5 stars

Peaceful, beautiful place with everything you could possibly need. A great holiday, thank you.

A luxurious homely barn conversion with loads of equipment for families. Bikes, pool, goals, trampoline, basket ball! Wonderful space with relaxing field views. Laid back area where EVERYTHING is closed after 12pm on a Sunday (so be aware if you arrive on a Sunday) but that way of life is very relaxing. Middle of the countryside and next to a working farm. We had a great holiday here.

Amazing place to stay, perfect for families

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at Raverlat, the barn is beautiful, with pmore than enough room for two families. Everything you might need has been thought of and the welcome pack of bread, pate, cheese and wine was perfect.

The pool was lovely and warm, the children wanted to be in it all day every day! They did make the most of the trampoline and wide open space available as well though.

The area is very peaceful and relaxed, but not far to find lovely towns with markets and castles. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, we hope to return!

Fabulous family & friends holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at The Barn. The weather was great and The Barn had everything we needed. We all enjoyed the outside space with the kids spending many hours in the pool and on the trampoline. We felt very at home from day one. We did venture out on several days but we could have quite happily spent all our time round the pool. Thank you.

a luxury hideaway in a quiet part of France

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable and spacious barn conversion for 8 adults, we had lively evenings around the table either indoors or outside but with space to do our own thing as well. The pool was essential as the weather was very hot. Enjoyed cycling down to the bakers to buy the morning croissants, visiting local towns of St Julien, Piegut (market) and Rochouart and a sombering visit to a martyr village anihilated by the SS during the second world war. Would love to return

Stunning property in a beautiful tranquil setting

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for 2 families, with brilliant facilities. Unfortunately the weather was miserable for most of the week we were there but the house was a godsend, from the log fire which was in constant use, the plentiful supply of board games available, the heated pool which was still used, the well equipped kitchen complete with welcome hamper and sky tv. Good family cycle route from the doorstep and other nice routes a short drive away. Only downside was that in this May week it definitely felt like low season and it was a struggle sometimes to find cafes / restaurants that were open. Not sure if the really wet weather contributed to make it worse than normal or not as we have not been to this area before. Max and Sue were both very helpful before and during our holiday and we would love to return to the house in summer as we were dreaming of long days lounging around the pool!

Comfortable and luxurious

  • 5 of 5

The barn is in a beautiful and peaceful part of the French countryside. We were lucky to have days of 20 plus degrees and made the most of the pool. The barn is huge - heaps of space for a couple of families. Raverlat is a very pretty hamlet and only a 10 minute drive from amenities. The market at Piegut is highly recommended. Loved our stay - thanks Max!
