About Sarah Hodgson
I am happily married with two grown up children and a wire-haired fox terrier called Eddie. I work part time at a veterinary surgery, and when I am not working I enjoy nothing more than to potter around in my garden as well as finding 'treasures' in the vintage/junk shops. I like to think that we have made Windy Ridge a home from home: our aim is for our guests to have a fantastic relaxing holiday experience.
Sarah Hodgson purchased this Villa in 2001
Why Sarah Hodgson chose Pissouri
We visited Pissouri many years ago when our children were very young and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The locals made us all feel very welcome and we just loved the relaxed lifestyle in the village. We set about finding a suitable plot of land and local builder and were extremely fortunate to find a location with stunning views that was not overlooked. The project took about two years to complete and we are delighted with the result. Cyprus is becoming established as a golfing destination with 5 great golf courses. Three courses are close to Pissouri making it an ideal golf holiday location.
What makes this Villa unique
Windy Ridge is set upon a hillside, has unspoilt stunning views and is not overlooked. In the heat of the summer there is always a cooling breeze across the property hence its name. A ten minute walk to the village with its tavernas and bars and all the amenities you need. Pissouri bay is just a two minute drive away. Being halfway between the busier resorts of Limassol and Paphos this is the ideal spot to get away from it all and yet just a 25-minute drive to the main resorts. Three golf courses approx fifteen minutes drive away. We strive to make your holiday as relaxing and comfortable as possible. We provide a complimentary welcome pack which includes two of bottles of very good local wine to get your holiday started!

Great villa in beautiful location
We were very impressed with Windy Ridge, it made a perfect home for a week in Cyprus for our family. Being slightly out of the village but close enough to walk there meant we could enjoy the best of both worlds and the local beach had a lovely relaxed restaurant.
We found the villa very clean and well equipped. We would highly recommend it to others.
Thank you for a great stay
Fantastic villa we all loved it!
First family holiday with grandkids it was lovely and memorable.
Villa plenty of space home from home!
Hopefully we will return.
A wonderful, relaxing time.
We have just returned from 3 blissful weeks staying at Windy Ridge. The house was as good as other reviewers have suggested and was perfect for the 4 of us to all find space to do our own thing. The view is really incredible and changes as the sun moves throughout the day. A G&T on the balcony watching the last rays of the sun quickly became a wonderful habit !
Pissouri is a quiet place, which was exactly what we wanted. The pace of life there seems to have remained unchanged for hundreds of years and we easily found ourselves whiling away the hours doing very little in prefect contentment. After 3 weeks there, I could almost pass as a local !
There are lots of things to see and do however, to pull you away from the lovely poolside. The ancient ruins in Paphos and Kourion were amazing and we really loved our trip up to the Troodos Mountains and the wine region. We also enjoyed sailing the Hobie Cats from the beach by the Columbia Hotel.
We ate out most evenings and it was good to have the variety of the village square or the beach. The restaurants are all pretty good and we didn't have any real disasters...apart from "Perry's" perhaps...When you fancy a break from the local food however (and we did), there is also a very good Indian restaurant down by the beach. We sat outside and had a couple of great evenings there.
Keith was really helpful both before and during our stay, answering any questions we had quickly. The House is also very well maintained with cleaners, pool maintenance and gardeners all popping in on a regal basis. Bob & Norma next door were also lovely and a very useful source for local information.
All in all, a great family holiday and we are already planning to return next year !
Thanks for the review, glad you had a lovely time. Wewould love to have you back next year.
Amazing. Wonderful, quiet villa, beautiful views!
Arrived to a lovely clean villa with an amazing view over the valley and sea. Very quiet area, but easy and close drive to the local village 2 minutes up the road and the beach just a little further down. The bedrooms are a good size and lovely and cool and there is a wonderful breeze to the property. The kitchen is very well equipped, with comfortable furniture throughout. The landlords are very attentive and we will definitely return again. we had a wonderful holiday, thank you x
So glad you all enjoyed your stay at Windy Ridge, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Excellent Villa and Pool with outstanding views
Extremely well service Villa with plenty of space and lots of facilities. Kids loved the Pool and all the games available.
So glad you enjoyed your stay at Windy Ridge.
70th birthday celebration at Windy Ridge
We were delighted especially by the location of the villa - not overlooked and quiet with super views. In all other ways it lived up to expectations. Clean and well maintained, comfortably and tastefully furnished, well equipped including games, books toys etc and even pool inflatables and so forth.
There was more 'running around' space than expected and still plenty of space for sun loungers! The pool was plenty large enough for family fun or gentle swimming.
Lady's Mile beach near Limassol is sandy and does not shelve so ideal for family fun and little ones. Drive at least as far as the 'Caltain's Cabin' restaurant - a rough road! - where there is quite a new looking inflatable water park type set up. Interesting to watch ships going into Limassol too but be aware some aircraft noise occasionally.
We had family BBQs at the villa mainly - very relaxing except the drone of the pool equipment could be noticed and on breezy evenings we had to move across veranda to avoid the wind - only minor niggles!
Communication with Sarah was easy - she replied quickly and was always very helpful. Very efficiently, on our return, she contacted us regarding the repayment of deposit.
The welcome hamper was much appreciated after our late night arrival thus avoiding an early morning dash to the supermarket.
I would highly recommend this villa to others, but would point out that a car is really necessary unless one is very keen on hill walking!
Coast/Beach: Pissouri Bay beach is a beautiful unspoilt beach and just a two minute drive away. Pissouri is a long sheltered bay made up of a mixture of sand and pebble. It is safe for children, with a lifeguard on duty during peak periods. Water sports available include sailing, windsurfing, water ski-ing, parascending, scuba diving, and kite surfing. Banana and donut rides plus jet skis operate in the afternoons. Travel: Pissouri is 20 minutes from Paphos airport and 80 minutes from Larnaca airport. Distances: Pissouri is situated on the South coast of Cyprus with Paphos and Limassol 25 minutes by car. In Paphos you will be able to visit the Tombs of the Kings and see the ancient mosaics. Kourion amphitheatre and historic site is about 15 minutes away by car set on the hills above Kourion's sandy beach. On the northern side of Cyprus historic sites worth seeing are Salamis, Bellapais, St. Hilarion Castle (thought to be the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle) and Kyrenia. Further Details: Pissouri has the typical laid back charm of a traditional Cypriot village, where you will receive a warm welcome. By day you will find the old boys in the shade of the trees drinking their coffee, playing back-gammon and just generally watching the world go by. The village has all amenities including several banks, a beautiful church and a traditional barber's shop (looks a bit like Sweeney Todd's really!). There is also a choice of supermarkets; we would recommend Papantoniou which is at the bottom of the hill as you come into Pissouri. Pissouri offers a mixture of dining experiences ranging from traditional Cypriot fare to the more trendy restaurant; Chinese cuisine, pizzeria and the most wonderful take-away kebabs! By night the square comes alive when it is full of diners, particularly on Cyprus night (Wednesdays) when the village hosts traditional Greek dancing. Such fun to be had by all! Pissouri also benefits from a new amphitheatre which hosts dance festivals, tribute bands and plays. It is in a wonderful position to watch the sun go down over the bay.
