Windy Ridge has large rooms throughout, is spacious, well equipped and fully air conditioned. The ground floor is open plan with a living, dining and kitchen area combined. Two sets of patio doors provide lots of light and access to the shaded veranda and outside dining area overlooking the swimming pool. There is also a separate fourth bedroom with double bed and a wash room.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is en-suite, bedroom 2 has a double bed and bedroom 3 has twin-beds. Each bedroom has a balcony with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and Mediterranean Sea where you can sit and read a book or just admire the view.
The kitchen is fully equipped with the latest appliances including an induction hob and oven, fridge freezer, microwave, dish-washer and all the cooking utensils that you are likely to need. A washing machine is provided in the downstairs washroom.
The villa grounds are approximately 1000 square metres which is mostly paved, has planted areas and a private pool. The pool is L-shaped, with a shallow end that is 1 metre deep and ideal for children and non-swimmers. The pool slopes off to a deeper end at 2 metres. There are 8 sunbeds and a shaded area beneath shade sails for respite from the sun.
The panoramic views across the countryside are truly spectacular, with Troodos mountains to the east and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. There is nothing better than admiring the view with a gin and tonic!
I am happily married with two grown up children and a wire haired fox terrier called Eddie.
I work part time at a veterinary surgery, and when I am not working I enjoy nothing more than to potter around in my garden as well as finding 'treasures' in the vintage/junk shops.
I like to think that we have made Windy Ridge a home from home: our aim is for our guests to have a fantastic relaxing holiday experience.
Sarah Hodgson purchased this villa in 2001
We visited Pissouri many years ago when our children were very young and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The locals made us all feel very welcome and we just loved the relaxed lifestyle in the village.
We set about finding a suitable plot of land and local builder, and were extremely fortunate to find a location with stunning views that was not overlooked. The project took about two years to complete and we are delighted with the result.
Cyprus is becoming established as a golfing destination with 5 great golf courses. Three courses are close to Pissouri making it an ideal golf holiday location.
Windy Ridge is set upon a hillside, has unspoilt stunning views and is not overlooked. In the heat of the summer there is always a cooling breeze across the property hence its name.
A ten minute walk to the village with its tavernas and bars and all the amenities you need. Pissouri bay is just a two minute drive away.
Being halfway between the busier resorts of Limassol and Paphos this is the ideal spot to get away from it all and yet just a 25 minute drive to the main resorts.
Three golf courses approx twenty minute drive away.
We strive to make your holiday as relaxing and comfortable as possible. We provide a complimentary welcome pack which includes two of bottles of very good local wine to get your holiday started!
“5 star accommodation and location, location, location!”
Just back from two weeks at Windy Ridge villa and had one of the best family holidays ever. The villa is spacious, comfortable, extremely well equipped, with a fabulous pool and pool area, complete with 'sails' sunshade.
With the fantastic views and refreshing pool though you wont find any time to stay inside. The aptly named villa has a lovely breeze which is a godsend. Enjoyed our stay very much and would love to stay there again.
“Excellent villa, with breath taking views.”
A fabulous well equipped villa & the owners have thought of everything to make it a comfortable stay. This villa is a must especially for the views. The area in which the villa is situated is so tranquil and peaceful. We would definitely recommend 'Windy Ridge' and hope to return in the future.
We were delighted especially by the location of the villa - not overlooked and quiet with super views. In all other ways it lived up to expectations. Clean and well maintained, comfortably and tastefully furnished, well equipped including games, books toys etc and even pool inflatables and so forth.
There was more 'running around' space than expected and still plenty of space for sun loungers! The pool was plenty large enough for family fun or gentle swimming.
Lady's Mile beach near Limassol is sandy and does not shelve so ideal for family fun and little ones. Drive at least as far as the 'Caltain's Cabin' restaurant - a rough road! - where there is quite a new looking inflatable water park type set up. Interesting to watch ships going into Limassol too but be aware some aircraft noise occasionally.
We had family BBQs at the villa mainly - very relaxing except the drone of the pool equipment could be noticed and on breezy evenings we had to move across veranda to avoid the wind - only minor niggles!
Communication with Sarah was easy - she replied quickly and was always very helpful. Very efficiently, on our return, she contacted us regarding the repayment of deposit.
The welcome hamper was much appreciated after our late night arrival thus avoiding an early morning dash to the supermarket.
I would highly recommend this villa to others, but would point out that a car is really necessary unless one is very keen on hill walking!
A lovely, spacious villa very clean and well kept. Very well equipped - the best we have ever stayed in. The downside for those of us who are not as 'young and beautiful' as we once were is the lack of steps into the pool and incomplete screening of the pool from neighbour's garden.
Windy Ridge lived up to its name! At 30+ degrees the breeze was more than welcome.
The beds are very comfortable and the bedding of excellent quality. The mirror in the master bedroom is rather too high for anyone under 5'3'!
We all had a great week at Windy Ridge and hope to be back next year.
Had a wonderful holiday, villa has everything you could possibly wish for. Local village had very nice restaurants to eat in, beach lovely and not too busy. Can't wait to go back again.
From the moment we contacted Sarah we had absolute confidence that Windy Ridge was the villa for us! Her communication style was such that it made booking the holiday a pleasure.
This was our first visit to Cyprus. 4 adults and 2 children (aged 3 and 8) - all of us have said we will absolutely visit again!
Cyprus is a beautiful country & Pissouri really is a lovely little village. The weather was extremely hot but the name Windy Ridge is definitely fitting! A welcome breeze is present from about 12 noon each day.
The villa is absolutely stunning & exceeded our high expectations. Although large in size and categorised as a luxury villa it really is like a home from home. It is in excellent condition throughout - very clean
and clearly a well loved property.
Everything has been thought of from games, to children's toys, from towels to a lovely welcome hamper on arrival.
The guide in the villa is also very useful. We would highly recommend the Two friends Tavern in the village, plus a meal at The Last castle (with stunning views). We also had a day trip to Fissouri water park...another recommendation if you have children or even for adults to release their inner child!!
If you are considering Windy Ridge I'd recommend you book up quick...you will not be disappointed.
We had a lovely 2 week stay in Sarah and Keith beautiful villa and pool in pissouri paphos. Everything we needed was to hand to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Having the pool was great for us all to cool down and have some fun every day. Great location with some amazing views . Well worth a visit. The local food was so good, we enjoyed eating at the tavern, the hideaway and our favourite, the two friends .
We had a fantastic stay at Windy Ridge. It is a beautiful property with an outstanding view. The owners have thoughtfully equipped the villa with everything needed for a comfortable and stress free stay. The accommodation is beautifully proportioned with an excellent ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms. It gave us flexibility and comfort as we were staying with a large family group. The pool area is attractive and the sails provide welcome shade.
We found the property tricky to find (tiredness and driving in the dark didn't help) but the road signs may have been changed since the directions were written. We couldn't find a sign for Pissouri Jetty for example. Pissouri Bay, however, we did find. Navigating through the village was particularly challenging with all three cars getting lost!
Overall, we were extremely happy with the villa and the location and would certainly visit again. Sarah and Keith have been extraordinarily helpful during the planning of our trip and the follow up. Going to great lengths to return a top that we left behind. So very kind of them. Thank you very much!
Pissouri Bay beach is a beautiful unspoilt beach and just a two minute drive away.
Pissouri is a long sheltered bay made up of a mixture of sand and pebble. It is safe for children, with a lifeguard on duty during peak periods.
Water sports available include sailing, windsurfing, water ski-ing, parascending, scuba diving, and kite surfing. Banana and donut rides plus jet skis operate in the afternoons.
Pissouri is 20 minutes from Paphos airport and 80 minutes from Larnaca airport.
Pissouri is situated on the South coast of Cyprus with Paphos and Limassol 25 minutes by car. In Paphos you will be able to visit the Tombs of the Kings and see the ancient mosaics.
Kourion amphitheatre and historic site is about 15 minutes away by car set on the hills above Kourion's sandy beach.
On the northern side of Cyprus historic sites worth seeing are Salamis, Bellapais, St. Hilarion Castle (thought to be the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle) and Kyrenia.
Pissouri has the typical laid back charm of a traditional Cypriot village, where you will receive a warm welcome. By day you will find the old boys in the shade of the trees drinking their coffee, playing back-gammon and just generally watching the world go by.
The village has all amenities including several banks, a beautiful church and a traditional barber's shop (looks a bit like Sweeney Todd's really!). There is also a choice of supermarkets; we would recommend Papantoniou which is at the bottom of the hill as you come into Pissouri.
Pissouri offers a mixture of dining experiences ranging from traditional Cypriot fare to the more trendy restaurant; Chinese cuisine, pizzeria and the most wonderful take-away kebabs!
By night the square comes alive when it is full of diners, particularly on Cyprus night (Wednesdays) when the village hosts traditional Greek dancing. Such fun to be had by all!
Pissouri also benefits from a new amphitheatre which hosts dance festivals, tribute bands and plays. It is in a wonderful position to watch the sun go down over the bay.
