Camrose Holiday Cottage is a modern 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom cottage with a private garden and patio centrally located in the Royal Burgh of Cullen a charming and historic village on the Moray Firth in Scotland. This spacious and comfortable home was built in the traditional style but has a unique split level interior design. Camrose provides easy access to both the village and its amenities as well as the harbour, beach and Cullen Golf Club which are only a 10 minute walk away. The coastal trail east will take you through incredible scenery with opportunities to view of variety of wildlife en route to the ruins of Findlater Castle. Dolphin watching, boating, fishing, surfing, walking and cycling are just a few of the many activities available to holidaymakers in this area.

The Owners of this special property are Selma and Rob Nicol. We are both Canadian, although Rob grew up in Buckie which is a short distance from Cullen. We met in Canada in 1991 and eventually married in Scotland in 1998 at Eilean Donan Castle (very romantic!) and moved to a lovely little farmhouse just outside of Buckie on the Moray Coast. I nursed at the local hospital and Rob had an upholstery business. In 2005 family obligations necessitated a return to Canada but we continued to regularly return to Scotland to visit family with the intention of some day moving back. After relocating to the area in 2012 we purchased Camrose in the autumn of 2013 and spent several months renovating it to it's current high standard. We are very pleased with the result and think our guests will agree it is a lovely comfortable home away from home.

We had a very successful first year with our other Cullen property, Hill Crest Holiday Cottage, which is also listed on Owner's Direct. We love Cullen and so do our guests so when an opportunity to purchase a second property came our way we couldn't resist. Camrose is a unique property with something different to offer from Hill Crest but in the same delightful setting.
The location of Camrose within Cullen is ideal. Restaurants and shops are only footsteps away and the surrounding countryside only a few minutes more
This was our second visit to Camrose Cottage and again it did not disappoint. The cottage is beautifully appointed being a short stroll to the Main Street (more importantly the ice cream shop) and a pleasant short walk to the sandy beaches and harbour.
The facilities within the cottage are second to none, from a lovely welcome pack, fluffy towels, comfortable bedding, barbecue utensils to even dog towels and blankets. The garden is fully enclosed and a complete sun trap which was lovely.
I cannot recommend it enough and we will be returning soon!

Camrose Cottage was a superb holiday rental. All the furnishings and appointments were first rate from the kitchen supplies to the quality linens. The owners went above and beyond to welcome us with a welcome basket of treats and fresh flowers. The house is spacious and comfortable and very clean. We had a great time there and highly recommend it.
Everything is thought of in this gorgeous property. It feels like a boutique hotel! From the fluffy towels, to the robes to books and magazines and games.....
The welcome pack was such a lovely thought and much appreciated after the journey.

Camrose Cottage was everything and more than we expected. We were welcomed by Selma and Rob and given a detailed tour, they had organised a welcome basket of goodies, and a beautiful arrangement of tulips as well. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need...truly a home away from home. The décor is tasteful and relaxing, the attention to detail better than anywhere else we have stayed in Scotland over the past 2 years. The location of the cottage is excellent, well within walking distance of eateries (the Chinese take away is amazing), the Main street and the beach, and Cullen itself is a great place from which to explore the Moray Coast. You will definitely not be disappointed if you book Camrose Cottage, it really is first class.
Coast/Beach:
Cullen Beach is a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute drive from Camrose. This beautiful sandy beach is a favourite of locals and visitors alike. The coastal trail to the east of Cullen will take you to the ruins of Findlater Castle. The trail to the west will take you along the coastline towards the fishing villages of Portknockie and Findochty.
Travel:
Walking is appropriate in the village but a car is recommended for outings further away. Car rentals are available in neighbouring towns. There are local buses which travel between the towns. There is a train station 11 miles away in the town of Keith. The airports are located in Inverness or Aberdeen with approximately the same length of journey to each (50 miles).

Further Details:
Amenities within Cullen are only steps away from Camrose. A small grocery store, bank, post office, chemist, GP's surgery, several cafes, pubs, fish & chip shop, Indian restaurant, Chinese takeaway and the local well known ice cream shop are minutes from your door. A variety of antique shops as well as the local library are also available. The Tourist Information centre is open from June through August to assist visitors to the area. There are several larger towns within a 10 to 30 minute drive along the coastline with a wide variety of resources and activities available.

Booking Notes:
A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking with the balance due 4 weeks before the holiday. If a booking is made less than 4 weeks before the holiday the full rent is due immediately. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations less than 4 weeks before the holiday. Should the property, subsequent to booking, become unavailable through any cause, the owner's liability is limited to the repayment of any rent already paid.
Changeover Day:
Saturday is the preferred changeover day but is currently negotiable with arrivals at 4:00 p.m. and departures by 10:00 a.m. Guests are requested not to arrive before 4:00 p.m. to allow cleaning to be completed. Keys will be provided on arrival.
Notes on prices:
Short breaks will be considered during non-peak periods with a minimum three night stay. Please contact the owner for rates for short breaks. We reserve the right to offer late deals on unsold breaks at reduced prices. Discounts may be offered for bookings of 2 or fewer guests during off peak season.
