Far End is a beautiful contemporary house, built in 2013, with a bright, airy, spacious feel and wonderful views over countryside and to the sea. It is located in Durlston, a quiet residential area, elevated approx 15 min walk from the town centre and beach. The Purbeck area is renowned for its wonderful countryside and beaches, Corfe Castle, the Swanage steam railway, and Jurassic coastline.
Come and have a wonderful, relaxing holiday in a unique, architect designed spacious house by the sea. Beautifully equipped, with huge array of kids' toys, books, games, DVDs etc. Everything you could need for your family holiday.
Local family of 4 who love the mixture of seaside bustle and beautiful countryside that Swanage has to offer.
Hannah Etherington purchased this house in 2013
We worked closely with the design and build team to help create a wonderful family house. I grew up next door, and when the opportunity came to build a house on the plot, we jumped at the chance. It's a steep site, with tricky access and the build had all the hallmarks of a dramatic episode of Grand Designs (mud, large holes in the ground, and new technology!) but was managed brilliantly by the building team.
We love the location - not isolated, yet quiet and overlooking the beautiful world heritage site, the Jurassic Coast, with views of the sea.
'Stunning house. Beautiful views, love the showers, and such comfy beds! The twins adored the trampoline and both children's bedrooms - where they were spoilt with the abundance of toys. Hannah and co were So welcoming and such a thoughtful touch to leave welcome gifts. Wonderful holiday home".
'We have had the most wonderful stay in your beautiful, luxurious home, and enjoyed sunny, lazy days in lovely Swanage. The house could not be better suited to a family. The time has passed too quickly and we are so sad to leave this very special and inspiring house and location. We wish you love, health and happiness for the future."
The Edmonds family.
"A great house for 2 families to share. A home from home - sunny balcony, long walks over to Durlston, exploring the castle, heathland, woodland, fossils in the rocks down by the sea. Many delicious meals enjoyed around the large dining table. Late night chats on the balcony on warm evenings. Trampoline, somersaults, BBQs, kids stayed up late, days out to Monkey World, Corfe Castle and Poole. Thank you!"
The Bater family.
We loved our stay at this stunning house. Sitting on the deck in the evening sunshine looking at the beautiful view was perfect and made more so by a wonderful welcome pack and being able to relax as our children played with all the fab toys and trampoline! Swanage is our favourite place and Far End was an excellent place to stay there.
This house is perfect in every way. Spacious, comfortable, homely, modern. The location is perfect too - slightly away from the bustle of Swanage town centre (but walkable) and with direct access to beautiful walks in the Durlston country park and the coastal path.
Our kids (aged 7 and 9) were delighted with all the lovely toys and games to play with - and of course the games console!
An added bonus was we saw interesting wildlife in and around the garden, including red deer, a badger and birds of prey.
Favourite activities for us were spending a morning or afternoon on Studland beach (about 10 minutes drive away) and going for lunch at the SeventhWave restaurant/cafe at Durlston castle (about 10 minutes walk). We also loved the Swanage steam train.
Thanks to Hannah and family for sharing your beautiful home!
We have had such a fabulous week at Far End! (2 parents, 2 kids, 2 grandparents)
The house is just super, with top quality fittings throughout. The views are breathtaking. Having breakfast whilst watching the horses in the adjacent fields was a great way to start the day.
The cinema screen/XBox/Playstation were big winners with the kids. Rooms spotlessly clean and huge. We could not have asked for more and didn't want to leave...! Thanks Hannah & Rob for letting us staying in your beautiful home.
We had a wonderful week at Far End House. We were astounded by the quality and facilities the house has to offer. Everything was beautiful. We were really surprised by the seaviews. We highly recommend this property if you are looking for high quality accommodation. There is absolutely nothing to fault or anything that can be improved. Many thanks for giving us the opportunity to spend a week in your unique and beautiful home. Richard & Lorraine Innes and family x
Hannah and Rob welcomed us to their stunning home for a weeks holiday at Easter. We had our two grandchildren our two sons and two daughters in law. We couldn't have asked for more. Our two grandchildren were overwhelmed by the marvelous toys they had to play with. The adults enjoying the cinema screen in an evening. The accommodation was absolutely wonderfully well laid out and plenty of room for all our family. We were lucky with the weather and the views across the country park from the terraced area were fantastic. We were able to walk into Swanage even our 2 year old and onto the beach. Great being able to leave the car behind. Hannah had left us lots of information and with being Easter some easter eggs for the children. We would love to return for another holiday.
We stayed at the beautiful house for the carnival week and the highlight had to be this stunning property. It is a ideal property for a family holiday with lots of spacious rooms, garden with trampoline and BBQ, Family room with pull down cinema screen and playstaion 3 games console with netflix so family movie nights were great when the weather was not at its best. The service provided by the owners was great including a welcome pack which was a lovely touch and made the stay that little bit more special.
Swanage (Blue Flag) sandy beach is 15 minutes walk away. Beach approx 1 mile long, then stretching to chalk cliffs (Old Harry) and a great walk over to Studland.
