Champsac Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage in Bousseroux, near Chalus, Haute Vienne, Limousin, France, with swimmingpool

Coming down from Chalus, you find our cottage in the hamlet of Bousseroux. In front of and next to the cottage you can park your car (max. 3). Entering the cottage you are in the living room, equipped with sofa's, a satellite TV with DVD and with big walls in typical French style ('en pierre'). Because of these thick walls the cottage stays cool in summer! Via the living room you can enter a sleeping room with a double bed and bathroom with toilet en suite. From the living room you have an open entrance to the kitchen, which is fully equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine and water kettle. It has a large kitchen table which suits 8 persons easy! Via the kitchen you can go up to the first floor by a winding staircase. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms situated (1 bedroom with double bed, both other bedrooms have 2 beds each). Also you find the second bathroom with bath and toilet. All bedrooms have wardrobes to put your clothes and other things away. Through the kitchen you can enter the garden via the veranda, where you also find a playlet for the children and the swimming pool (8 x 4 m). The swimming pool meets the French regulations and law which means in our case that the swimming pool is fully fenced. The use of the swimming pool is still at own risk. For this it is stated in our rules that no child should be inside the fence without an adult! The swimming pool can be used by the housekeeper(s). For relaxation you find garden furniture and sun beds. The garden itself has a lot of places where you either can enjoy the sun or enjoy the shadow. At the swimming pool you also have parasols. When leaving the cottage you can choose left or right: both roads bring you in the countryside of the Limousin. In a radius of approx. 25km you find caves (caves of Villars), castles dating the Middle Ages in which Richard Lionheart was living (in Chalus, only 5 km away, is the castle in which Richard Lionheart was killed, situated). But also Chateau Brie, and chateau de Montbrun. Most of all these castles and chateaus you can visit. At Limoges, 40km away, you find a nice Zoo and in Limoges you have the porcelain museum. Most of all the city is great to go shopping! Driving in the direction of St. Mathieu, you find a swimming lake which includes a supervisor during the summer period. But, see for your self and, also very important, every village has at least one nice and fine restaurant or cafe.

We are 2 Dutch people who love this specific part of France. For this we decided to buy a grange, for ourselves to live in when we are retired and for now to give people the change to see by themselves how beautiful it is overhere.

Why Elze Horlings chose Rochechouart

As we said before, the region is beautiful, not as dry as it is more south and it has very once countrysides. People are friendly and very in to help and talk with each other and 'others'. Living here means that there is no hurry, although you have to work. Also a house in this region is mostly built up in the traditional French way: en pierre! We do like this style.

What makes this cottage unique

What we found here are extreme quiet and dark nights. In this part of France, especially outside the bigger towns, there is no environmental pollution of light. So the night is dark and the only thing you can here are leafs or animals that live up when it is dark. And then there is this house of us, an old grange (build at the end of 1800) which is renewed in some places and kept 'old' where it should be. The old 'en pierre' walls are typical for a French house. Also the kitchen with it's old sink and the wooden ceiling are typical. And where will you find a large garden with swimming pool in such an environment. We love the place, it's people and the fact that we will live here when we have retired. We hope that you will have the same feeling.

In Chalus (4 km) the Intermarche (supermarket) and all the rest you need.

Booking Notes:
When you want to know whether the cottage is available, please sent an email to our email address. We will contact you as soon as possible or will answer your (further) question(s). When the cottage is available and you want to rent, we sent a rental agreement. By returning a signed rental agreement and having payed an advance (= 25 % of the total amount), the cottage is yours. 2 months before your first day of stay, the total amount has to be paid.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day = Saturday.
The cottage is available from 15.00 hours on the arrival date.
The cottage has to be cleaned and left not later then 10.00 hours on the day of departure.

Notes on prices:
Before and after the summer holidays, we have other prices when there are no more then 2 persons who want to stay in the cottage. F.i. people who are looking for buying a house in France and want to have the availability of a normal house. Please ask and send an email if so.

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is very suitable for a family with more then 2 children or very suitable for 2 families who want to enjoy their 'own' French paradise. Also if one wants to take his parents, they can have their bedroom on the ground floor so they do not need to take the stairs. The swimming pool will sometimes be shared with the (children of) housekeeper(s). This summer the cottage will have WiFi-access. Outside: Outdoor furniture (garden chairs and -table, sun beds), BBQ, playset, terrace, shared swimming pool (8 x 4m) Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning of the cottage has to be done by the tenant. The tenant can rent kitchen towels (2 per booking, costs € 10,00) and also handtowel, bathtowel and washcloth (€ 8,00 per person). The tenant can rent bedlinen (pillow (cushion) cover, duvet cover and fitted sheet per person, costs € 10,00 per person). The tenant can rent a children's cot with children's high chair (costs € 7,50 per week)
