Villa in Almunecar, Costa Tropical, Spain - Full Indoor And Outdoor Kitchen With Shaded Bar, Lounge And Dining Area

El Cuadrado is nestled high up above the bustling and traditionally Spanish town of Almunecar, in the heart of the Costa Tropical, with its many beaches, historic old town, tapas squares, shops and restaurants. The uninterrupted views over the town and along over 30kms of the Mediterranean coast, are as breathtaking by day, as they are by night. The lower mountains of the Sierra Nevada remain snowcapped until June and complete an unbeatable panorama. The villa’s location provides the best of both worlds, offering complete peace and tranquillity to relax and unwind, along with the convenience of only being 4kms drive from the town, shops and beaches etc. El Cuadrado has a Balearic feel to it and offers spacious, bright rooms with extensive inside/outside living areas that have been designed and decorated with style, comfort and socializing in mind. It is distributed over 3 levels that are all linked by wide exterior steps that run through the centre of the property from a private, gated parking area at the bottom (plenty of space for 4 cars) up to the main upper pool terrace. Bedrooms 3 and 4 are located on the lower parking level and have 3m wide fully opening and adjustable shuttered entrance doors that allow you to control how much light, shade or gentle breeze the rooms receive. They share an en-suite shower/wc, however, there is another independent large shower/wc on the upper level to ensure there's never any queuing. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are located on the mid level, either side of the main steps. Both have en-suites and Bedroom 1 also benefits from a walk in wardrobe and small covered terrace area. All the bedrooms are large and equipped with A/C. On the upper level, there is a large (10x4) saltwater swimming pool (no chlorine - no red eyes or green hair) with ambient underwater lighting system and a solar heated spa that comfortably seats 8. Surrounding the pool is a large sun terrace with traditional esparto sombrillas (sunshades), sun loungers, deck chairs and outdoor shower. Adjacent to the pool is a spacious covered pergola with comfortable low level Moroccan style seating - perfect for a siesta after a large lunch, playing a few hands of cards or just relaxing out of the mid-day sun and enjoying the views. A bar, including (510ltr) industrial drinks fridge, ice buckets and cocktail making equipment and dining table for 8. Leading off the pergola is a covered summer kitchen. If you love cooking, you'll love this space - it has a large Argentinian style BBQ, gas plancha, paella ring, fridge, double sink and extensive preparation area. Along with supermarkets, Almunecar has a fantastic municipal market where you'll find a vast array of fresh fish, meat, cheeses and local fruit and vegetables - definitely worth a visit. The inside of the villa on this level has a big, bright, airy sitting room with fully opening doors onto the pool terrace and furnished with a corner sofa, flat screen TV, computer desk and well stocked book cupboard (along with DVD player, Apple TV, basic satellite, etc). Leading off is a large bathroom with open walk in shower, wc and basin - that can also be accessed directly from the terrace. A newly fitted galley kitchen leads off the sitting room, looking out onto the pool and pergola, with granite worktops, 5 ring gas burner, oven, fridge and dishwasher. The rear entrance to the kitchen has a cleaning cupboard with a 7 drawer freezer (essential for storing plenty of ice). There is a further terrace behind the house with a shaded sunbathing platform and various fresh herbs growing. From here steps lead up to the very top of the property where there's another terrace - a beautifully quiet area with an old almond tree and the most spectacular views. If you want a break from cooking, a Spanish chef is available for booking on request to prepare onsite anything from a selection of tapas, to a paella, or a full 3 course meal. A selection of pre-made dishes can also be ordered for the freezer, plus a shopping service by arrangement. El Cuadrado is the perfect location for families or a group of friends wanting to holiday together - whether you want to switch off and relax by the pool, or have a base to explore the southern coast and inland areas. Car hire is essential, but taxis can be arranged. NB. Although the pool terrace has safety railings, its 4m height makes it unsuitable for small children/toddlers. Babies are welcome and there's a cot and high chair available - along with babysitting service. Bath, pool and beach towels are provided. Ask about discounts for smaller groups.

There is a nominal charge for a/c use. This is charged at 0.25€ per kwh after 350 kwh per week.

There is a covered outdoor kitchen including bbq, gas plancha, gas paella ring, small fridge and large work area. There is parking for 4 cars inside the gates. Utility Room: Stand up Freezer, washing machine Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, bath and pool towels, kitchen t-towels etc. are included. However, we would ask that you bring your own beach towels. Cleaning and linen change weekly. Additional cleaning can be arranged at extra cost. Lovely October Vacation by the Sea

Our group of five adult friends spent a week in this lovely villa. It is just as beautiful as we'd imagined, also very clean and comfortable. The location is on a rather steep hill which we thought might cause difficulty with driving but we soon acclimated. The view from the terrace is absolutely beautiful day and night - so the 10 minute drive up to the house is well worth the trip. We enjoyed spending time in Almunecar and La Herradura (both a close 10 minute drive), as well as taking day trips to Granada and Ronda - both easily accessible. Charlie and Louise were welcoming and very helpful - making great recommendations for restaurants and activities. Our only (very slight) disappointment was that we thought that the solar heated spa was a hot tub which it is not. The pool and spa are beautiful and clean but the water was a bit chilly in October, though this is still a beautiful time to visit. We were even able to spend a day at the beach and swim in the Mediterranean. Overall this property is highly recommended!

The villa is superbly equipped and the owners have thought of every need, were extremely attentive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay particularly the outdoor kitchen and dining areas which is perfect for relaxing dinners, and family time in the summer sun. A lovely Villa which we would happily book again and recommend to friends.

Charlie and Louise are great hosts. From the beginning, they reached out to us and made sure everything is arranged in advance. We received a warm welcoming at their home. Both of them are gracious and super friendly hosts, and would go out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their home is fantastic with amazing mountain and ocean view. We enjoyed the pool and spa everyday. The Outdoor kitchen and living space is fantastic. It's a perfect place to spend your vacation with friends and family. We wouldn't hesitate to come back. The town of Almuñecar is convenient with lots of options for activities. Charlie and Louise know well of the area and can make great recommendations.

A very spacious, well equipped villa, perfect for our grown up family. Amazing views, exactly as described. The villa is beautifully decorated and clean. The owners, Charlie and Louise are exceptional, we booked less than 24 hours before our arrival, due to a last minute decision to go on holiday. Very quick to get back to confirm our booking and arrange our arrival. Over and above with their customer service, our family is very grateful. We highly recommend this villa and owner. Stunning Villa

This was our second holiday at the villa and it has lost none of its wow factor. The views, the pool, the outdoor areas all make a perfect recipe for a relaxing holiday. Charlie and Louise have done a fantastic job with this villa and they go out of their way to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. We will be returning to El Cuadrado next year.

Booking Notes:
A non refundable booking deposit of 30% is required to secure reservation. The remaining 70% must be paid 6 weeks in advance of arrival date. Payments accepted by bank transfer. Rental is restricted to strictly the numbers agreed at the time of booking (max 8). A safety (damages) deposit of €500 to be paid with final payment and will be returned by bank transfer within 7 days of departure. There is also a laundry and cleaning charge of 175€.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is Saturday and the villa must be vacated by 10 am. Arrivals can leave luggage in the villa but cannot have entry until 4pm to allow for cleaning. Most visitors head to the beach for their first lunch/swim.
