About Kate Hill

London based English speaking family with local English speaking managers . We are a family who have been in this area for many years on vacation and our parents & grandparents before us. It is our home rather than a rental and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Kate Hill chose St Tropez region

The tranquillity of the house 1km from the gorgeous beaches in the South of France and being only 15 minutes from the vibrant St Tropez provides the perfect mix.

What makes this house unique

Absolutely gorgeous position in area: 1) close enough to walk to the lovely beach, great restaurants and well equipped beach supermarket. Just high enough on the hill to get some breeze in August! 2) Just being South of the centre of Saint Tropez, there is never much traffic driving in the back roads (15-18 mins).

Fabulous Post Christmas Tranquillity

  • 5 of 5

We all felt completely at home the instant we walked in to the kitchen/living room. Lovely arrangement of the house and furniture and the place was more than big enough for myself and Two children. We had a welcome pack which was very thoughtful and everything was clean and tidy so we could relax after a long days travel.

We spent mornings shopping in the village which is a few minutes by car along a twisty scenic quiet back road. The lovely bakery for fresh bread was our favorite and the staff there are great and even made some sandwiches long after their closing time for us to enjoy on a long walk. In the afternoons we walked to the beach which in late December was warm enough to paddle with glorious sunshine every day, make drawings in the sand and build sand castles. There are plenty of things in the hall cupboard for beach fun. The walk around the shore is scenic and wonderful, its far from difficult with good signage and clear pathways to guide you, exciting enough to entertain all ages.

Some afternoons we ate on the terrace with the beautiful and relaxing view across the coastline and trees before getting ready to go out in the evenings. Sometimes we played games, of which there is a great choice, and managed a family snooze and cuddle on the big couches. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked and ate in one evening so I could enjoy the wine I had purchased. Easy to use and decent coffee machine and the grill was perfect to warm the croissants for breakfast.

The drive to St. Tropz is fun and the roads very quiet at that time of year. No problem parking for free and exploring the colorful waterside and small restaurants tucked away in the side passages.

The location is perfect but you do need a car Its only short journeys but saves so much time. We drove from the UK without problems, lots of parking outside and very easy to find your way around.

The walk to the beach at the rear of the property is a lovely way to clear the mind with the Vines growing and the general peaceful nature around you along this quiet more pedestrian route.

It was a trip far better than I expected and one I would most definitely like to do again in the even warmer months.

Can’t recommend this enough, thank you to Kate and the housekeepers for their above and beyond service in making sure all went to plan and was completely stress free, very much appreciated..

P.S. Please never go here... Otherwise it will be booked when I want it!

Beautiful views, relaxing ambience

  • 5 of 5

A lovely house, very nicely decorated, nestled in a beautiful spot on the hillside. Stunning views across the tree-tops down to the sea. Tranquil walk down the hill to the nearest beach with some excellent restaurants there (Coleurs Jardin v. good) and a Spar that stocks everything you need at decent prices. Didn't use the BBQ but it's a whacking great Weber one that would take care of all the cooking for a family. Great area for road cycling and jogging if that's your thing, or visiting the local vineyards for something less strenuous. Town centre very close by, and Pampelonne Beach with Club 55 etc. 15 mins drive away. Kate was very helpful. Would absolutely recommend this place for a couple, family or small group of friends.

Great view,

  • 4 of 5

This house is a semi in a great elevated position on an established small development with a view of the Med. Being built on the hillside it has 3 flights of stairs from the front door to the ground floor (mind your head on the light just inside the front door!). There is 1 loo and an overbath shower.

It is ok walking down to the beach and restaurants, but a bit of a trek back up - it took us 30 minutes in the heat of the day and I should think you would need a torch at night. It is an easy drive though, with a 1E an hour car park right by the beach and Spar shop - although a hand drawn map would have been useful as we were unsure how to get there the first time.

The house is generally well equipped, but could do with some parasols. The garden/terrace is secluded and private.

We had a great stay and towns such as St Tropez are easy to get to and there are some excellent restaurants around and about.

Owner's Response: Dear Tim, Thank you for staying with us this Summer. Also glad you had a great time and hopefully some super food at the local restaurants ! The walk back up keeps you fit with the gradual climb and usually takes us about 18-20 mins back up with no stops to enjoy the views ! Thank you also your tip on a beach / shop/ restaurant local map. There are instructions on how to get to the beach in the pack but this is a better idea and I will draft one this week. I'm sorry you didn't find the parasols, there were some at the house and maybe left somewhere less obvious so will check out and get this resolved also. Glad you loved the private garden and terrace area it is so relaxing and quiet for a good read or lazy lunch. We look forward to seeing you next time and don't forget there is a 10% discount for returning guests! Kind Regards Kate & Family

Owner's Response: Hi Anna & friends. Thank you for taking the time to send in the review. Great to have you at the house this spring and May, what a perfect month to stay, best of the weather usually and no queues! The house is perfect for a girls weekend with party down the road in St Tropez and then a choice of any great beach club the next day to relax, including the famous Club55 only 15 minutes away by car. Charming two bedroom house with sea view

  • 3 of 5

This house is set in the heart of the forest with stunning views across to the sea and Gigaro beach. The house is clean, comfortable and functional with a lovely terrace, comfortable loungers in a quiet residential area. 10 minutes walk down to the beach (19 minutes up!). The best part for me is waking up to the blissful sound of birdsong. Spa supermarket with wonderful freshly made pastries and bread on site down in the village and excellent beach side restaurants. Easy driving distance to St Tropez if you're seeking the bright lights! Amazing coastal and woodland paths for walking, running, cycling etc.
