About Alastair and Ann MacLennan

We live and work in the area on a family run mixed farm just along the road from Tigh na Coille so are on hand to help if you need anything

Alastair and Ann MacLennan purchased this cottage in 1992

Why Alastair and Ann MacLennan chose Aviemore and the Cairngorms

We built and designed Tigh na Coille to be an ideal house to let for holidays.

We love living and working in the Cairngorm area, the views of the Cairngorm mountains which are ideal for skiing, climbing and hillwalking, the river Spey and lochs for canoeing and fishing, the historic castles, the distilleries and so much more.

Nethybridge is a quiet village with a great wee local shop and a pub. An ideal base for exploring the wider Highlands of Scotland.

What makes this cottage unique

Tigh na Coille is in the quiet village of Nethybridge.

The house itself backs onto woodland that you can access through the back garden. There is a network of walking paths around the village so you start your walk straight from the house.

There is private off road parking, plenty room for 3 cars, a secluded enclosed garden with a barbeque and outside seating area.

Tigh na Coille is a well designed warm house, recently updated and has all the modern conveniences of home including a dishwasher and WiiFi and 2 televisions.

Ann met us, welcomed us warmly and added personal touches to the house. This is a home from home which is very thoroughly and thoughtfully equipped. We lacked nothing. It is very spacious, clean and warm. Highly recommend this property for a most enjoyable holiday.

A great holiday experience.

The cottage lived up to the descriptions and to our expectations.A well maintained, modern and clean house and garden. The back garden is large and private, great for sitting out and for B.B.Q.s.This area of Scotland {Cairngorms] is a pleasure to be in and central to many other areas of interest. The 7 Bristo in Granton serves a high standard of food but be sure to book,it is popular and they look to prepare the food fresh for you.Not only would we recommend this holiday cottage we are returning in 2016.

Beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic cottage with a lovely home from home feel, very clean and tidy and spacious throughout. The large enclosed garden was great for kids with the added bonus of access to the lovely woods behind for them to explore.

The cottage was located perfectly to be able to reach all the local attractions with only a short drive, the Cairngorm Reindeer and The Landmark Forest Adventure Park were a favourite of ours and are definitely worth a visit. All in all a great cottage with fantastic surroundings, also the owners were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
