About Lesley

We live in the South West of England and we spend most of our holidays in Spain and love the area and everything it has to offer for our holidays

Lesley purchased this villa in 2013

Why Lesley chose Guadalhorce (Costa del Sol)

We found our beautiful second home in the sun in the Inland Costa Del Sol region and it was love at first sight when we saw our lovely finca in the countryside. We're still discovering just how wonderful it is. We are captivated by the lovely mountain views and the beautiful countryside and love that the facilities are close by

What makes this villa unique

We love the convenience of having the local traditional working Spanish town only five minutes drive away, we feel it's the best of both worlds - rustic charm with facilities very close. Our garden and orchard are constantly changing and surprising us

A beautiful, well equipped, scenically lovely house in a fabulous location.

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely fabulous time. As a party of six we had no problem with there being enough beds, chairs, sun loungers, space etc. The villa was beautiful inside, well set up for a hot climate with plenty of air conditioning and shutters for the windows. As the temperature reached 47 degrees whilst we were there that was very important. Sadly the lemons on the trees were not quite ready to harvest! It was the best villa we have rented, over a period of 15 years of renting. High praise from us indeed. Caroline and Michael Irving

Owner's Response: Hi Caroline & Michael - what can I say, your review of our finca is exactly how we feel about it. 47 degrees!! The pool must have had lots of use and so glad you felt comfortable inside and outside the house. Shame about the lemons, it's the time of year, you must come again earlier in the year to enjoy them before they get picked! Look forward to welcoming you again in the future, best wishes Lesley

Excellent country villa

  • 5 of 5

We had a most enjoyable stay at this lovely finca in the Spanish countryside. It is a well equipped, spacious and comfortable house with a wonderful pool and plenty of outside space including a variety of fruit trees. Whilst it is within 25 minutes drive from the beach we loved the pool so much that we spent most of our time there. It was also a very convenient location for a day trip to Gibraltar, a well worthwhile journey. The nearby town of Alhaurin el Grande has good supermarkets, restaurants and other shops. Lesley, the villa owner, was attentive and helpful and provided lots of useful information in advance of and during our visit. We would highly recommend this property to anyone, like ourselves, who values a peaceful holiday away from the crowded resorts. We would certainly be glad to return in the future.

Fantastic Villa in great location

  • 5 of 5

We are just back after spending a week in this lovely villa and all 4 of us were very impressed.

The villa itself is beautiful and the surrounding grounds and pool are lovely. The area is very quiet with the occasional reassuring noises from the horses next door. It's nice not to be too isolated :) The pool in particular was great for our two 12 year olds as well as us big kids and it gets the sun until the evening making it a lovely temperature. There is a lovely shaded area near the pool to eat/relax and the villa has the essentials inside with a fridge freezer and dvd player and tv. Always nice to unwind at night with a wee taste of home (Still Game) to remind us how cold it is back home! :)

The villa is situated in a great place with it being around 30 mins drive from the airport as well as being a short drive to some great places. We visited the lovely local town of Alhaurin el Grande to stock up on shopping and dine out in the street at the well loved Bar Sardina. We also visited the picturesque Mijas and had a nice meal during the day at Alcazabar with spectacular views way down to the coast. Some of the more lively places we managed to visit that are within a fairly easy drive were Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Marbella.

A great holiday for us all and we would definitely consider returning in future :)

P.S. A car is essential.

Owner's Response: Hi Tracey & Joe Thanks for so much for your kind words, we really enjoyed having your family at our villa. We agree the pool is so welcome and gets the sun for almost all of the day and with the sun terrace to relax on as well, it definitely hits the spot for us! We certainly do hope you'll consider us again for your future holidays, best wishes Lesley

A beautiful house in a tranquil location.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fabulous week here at the end of June. Temperatures in the high twenties and over 30c on a couple of days. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat, well maintained, clean and warm.

The house has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and more.

Access is very easy. No hilly tracks!

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and fly screens meant you could cool down the house without resorting to air con all the time.

The gardens were absolutely fabulous.

Nearby Mijas Pueblo was a delight. The new hotel La Castillo de Monda in Monda is well worth a visit. Built on the site of an old Moorish castle, it is a luxurious oasis in an amazing location. A little bit expensive but worth it for a lovely lunch location.

You will not be disappointed if you stay in Casa la Huerta.

Thanks Lesley for a wonderful holiday.

A little bit of heaven in lovely surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this lovely villa with our son, partner and grandson (16months) and we returned home relaxed & refreshed. You can never be entirely sure of any villa booking but this one really did exceed our expectations! It is in a quiet part of Andalucia with great views of the mountains and the pool was just perfect when we visited. The villa has a considerable amount of land surrounding it filled with olive & fruit trees which adds to the privacy. The villa had everything we needed and all the rooms were clean and well maintained. There were even good books to read and games to play. Our grandson toddled around very happily exploring all the gardens and visiting horses nearby. The nearest shop is a drive away so we stocked up as usual. There are very good restaurants in town and we particularly enjoyed El Fogon (steaks excellent), Casa Paco (recommend fish) and La Boma too. It's a nice drive to the coast - we went to Estepona - but really it is simply perfect unwinding at the villa and then a good evening meal out. For all of us, it was a little oasis. The owner was on hand throughout- before and during our stay - & helpful in very way . We have no hesitation in recommending this villa and in fact we hope to return. Just altogether lovely!

Beautifully appointed, lovely villa

  • 5 of 5

If your sort of holiday is a quiet time in the country, with amenities close by, then this is exactly what you are looking for.

Beautufully appointed, gorgeous pool and an overworked BBQ made this the perfect week's break.
