There are also many sandy beaches and pebbled coves in both Devon and Cornwall. A direct route from the property takes you down to the coast at Peppercombe passing the local pub which is just across the way. The historic market town of Bideford is just 3 miles away where you will find a good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops Amenities: parking directly outside property. Portable electric heaters throughout. Regret no pets or smoking. High chair and baby bath available. Single put- up bed suitable for a young child only. Pub within walking distance. WiFi available.

About Julie Kerby
I am married with three grown up children and have lived in North Devon for 16 years after moving down from Oxfordshire. I work full time as an accountant for a local private care business and my husband is a business analyst. My eldest daughter is studying for a nursing degree at Plymouth Uni, my other daughter is beginning an Acting degree in London from September and my son is studying at Exeter College. We have one pet, a very cute white Bichon Frise who thinks she's a German Shepherd! We are a very friendly, hard working, approachable family who like to meet new people.

Lovely part of the world for all ages. Plenty of fantastic beaches and walks both on Exmoor and Dartmoor. Relaxed, chilled and scenic area with walks to a local beach but also not too far from the nearest pub or town.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The property is right on the A39 and is accessible to both Devon and Cornwall. It has off road parking, is a very safe area to live and stay and is only a stones throw from the local pub, bus stop and beach.

During our time in UK this year we are renting nine cottages across England and Wales,including
Acorn Cottage. It is the only one where electricity is not included in the rent, rather pay by 1 pound meter, which we found unusual.
Electricity is charged separately by £1 coin meter so that guests only pay for what they use, otherwise tariffs would have to be increased. We find this to be fair and reasonable with an average cost of £1 per day during the summer months, obviously depending on weather conditions and how much guests go out. This is stated clearly in our terms and conditions prior to booking.
It would have been nice to also receive some positive points too, such as providing them with extra bedding because they didn't like duvets and making sure they had tea, coffee, milk and sugar upon arrival, which is something we always do. Devon scones, clotted cream and local jam was also provided upon arrival. I wonder how many of the other cottages they stayed in did all of this too.
A place of relaxation
Our stay was very enjoyable, a time to relax and take things easy in a most wonderful place . The owners are very kind and thoughtful people and have made this place a great holiday home and is certainly idea for anyone who requires living on a ground floor.

Booking Notes: Bookings are normally week commencing Saturday to Saturday but we can be more flexible from during off peak periods and from Oct-March A non-returnable deposit of a 1/3 of the cost of the booking must be received within 3 working days to enable us to secure your booking. The outstanding balance of the booking must reach us 6 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.
