Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved the house and convenient location, perfect for a multi - generation get-together. We had a very nice meal at The Scotsman's Pack - good food and warm welcome. For the little ones we can recommend Chatsworth Farm and Adventure Playground - brilliant! Thanks again for the home made cake.

Probably the best stay we have ever had in Hathersage. Accommodation is very comfortable and spacious, Favourite activities have to include cycling The Monsal Trail down to Bakewell. We can recommend the Plough for fantastic food.

Very comfortable family house, we settled in at once

We really liked staying here, with our family and our black Lab Dixie. The location was perfect for the village, going out for walks and for eating out and for eating in. Big enclosed garden too.

We'll probably be back!

comfortable base in Derbyshires Hope valley.

  • 5 of 5

a large comfortable, well appointed base in the Hope valley (the border between Derbyshires white and dark peak areas). ideally placed to visit Castleton, Edale and with miles of superb walking country accessible from the front door. The 4 large bedrooms and large comfortable lounge, were ideal for our annual family get together. The welcome pack was well received, and a good time was had by all !

Great stay.

  • 4 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Topcroft Cottage. The property was beautiful and Phillipa was a great host. I didn’t get to meet Phillipa, however, my Brother did and said she was so helpful at recommending local places and even brought us a cake! Thank you & we would love to visit again in the future. Lindsey.

Comfortable, spacious cottage in excellent location.

  • 5 of 5

A weeks stay in Hathersage for a family of 6 adults and 2 children who live in Edinburgh and London. We were looking for something to suit all age groups which was roughly half way between both so that we could spend a week together as a family.

The cottage itself catered for all our needs it is very hard well equipped and is very spacious and with 3 bathrooms means everyone has there own bath/shower.

As we had a 5 year old and a baby we ate in 6 out of 7 nights and there is sufficient cooking facilities as well as plenty cupboard and fridge/freezer space.

There is something in the surrounding areas for all age groups including lovely walks, outdoor pool, children's theme parks and lots of beautiful towns to visit all within a short drive. Many cafes, pubs and restaurants to choose from if you want to eat out.

The highlight for the adults was a visit to Chatsworth House but there was lots for the children to do there as well.

We will definately return to Hathersage again in the future we loved it.
