Fantastic Family Accomodation
As a family of 8 adults and one puppy we stayed at Topcroft for a weekend break. The accommodation is perfect for a large group, with a spacious lounge, large dining room with a table that comfortably seated the 8 of us. The bedrooms were all tastefully decorated with crisp, clean bedding. The showers were spacious and the water hot and powerful, a must for a large group. We were very fortunate to be blessed with lovely weather for our stay so we made great use of the garden. There is a patio table and chairs with seating for 8 plus a Weber BBQ. Locally we purchased some lovely meat from the butchers and fruit and salad from the greengrocers ( all within easy walking distance). On the Friday evening we had a long wait for Fish and Chips from the Pool Café, it was worth the wait as they were freshly cooked and tasty. As the weather was so warm and sunny we were able to sit out in the garden at The Scotsman Pack Inn and also enjoyed Sunday lunch in their dog friendly eating area. From Hathersage we went on a couple of long walks, making use of the local map from the cottage. All in all we would definitely recommend staying at Topcroft and as a family we would not hesitate to book this accommodation again.
Lovely, spacious and cosy!
Second time staying at the cottage, we were really pleased once again. Cottage itself is tasteful and comfortable, lovely cosy lounge, roomy dining room and large garden. It is perfectly located in the village of Hathersage which has lots of really good and affordable facilities. The deli, maazi Indian restaurant (there are 2 different Indians in town) and a decent fruit and veg shop to name but a few. There are also several pubs within walking distance. We enjoyed going on days out in the beautiful Peak District and beyond from this great central location, Chatsworth House is a must! There are also many national trust properties in this part of the country and loads of museums. We have been to the national coal mining museum in Wakefield where you can go in a cage down a real coal mine and on our previous trip to the Kelham island industrial museum in Sheffield. Although we were unlucky with the weather on this occasion the area is obviously well known for being a great place to go walking and the beauty of the landscape is unparalleled.
Would definitely recommend and will most likely come back again :-)
Very comfortable family house, we settled in at once
We really liked staying here, with our family and our black Lab Dixie. The location was perfect for the village, going out for walks and for eating out and for eating in. Big enclosed garden too.
We'll probably be back!
comfortable base in Derbyshires Hope valley.
a large comfortable, well appointed base in the Hope valley (the border between Derbyshires white and dark peak areas). ideally placed to visit Castleton, Edale and with miles of superb walking country accessible from the front door. The 4 large bedrooms and large comfortable lounge, were ideal for our annual family get together. The welcome pack was well received, and a good time was had by all !

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Topcroft Cottage. The property was beautiful and Phillipa was a great host. I didn’t get to meet Phillipa, however, my Brother did and said she was so helpful at recommending local places and even brought us a cake! Thank you & we would love to visit again in the future. Lindsey.
