Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved the house and convenient location, perfect for a multi - generation get-together. We had a very nice meal at The Scotsman's Pack - good food and warm welcome. For the little ones we can recommend Chatsworth Farm and Adventure Playground - brilliant! Thanks again for the home made cake.

Probably the best stay we have ever had in Hathersage. Accommodation is very comfortable and spacious, Favourite activities have to include cycling The Monsal Trail down to Bakewell. We can recommend the Plough for fantastic food.

Great location for family gatherings

  • 4 of 5

We were celebrating our parents 60th wedding anniversary. The property accommodated all ages. The terrace and garden were great in good weather. The large kitchen, dining room, conservatory and first floor lounge provided plenty of space when the weather was less kind. Pip was very helpful, friendly and responsive to our questions. The property is very convenient for Hathersage shops and the outdoor pool. Our only suggestion for improvement is that there were a number of minor maintenance issues which needed attention. We recognise that the cottage is popular and that back to back bookings make it difficult to find opportunities for maintenance to be done, but if a solution could be found, it would make the difference between a very good and an excellent venue.

Fantastic house for a group catchup

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, right in the centre of Hathersage. Great location for lovely walks and trips to the open air swimming pool. We had a brilliant time and made great use of the garden. There is plenty of space for lots of people and in our case babies. Thank you Pip for a perfect holiday!

Thank you for your lovely comments and also thank you for leaving the house so clean and tidy not an easy task considering you all had such young children. the property is lovely, very traditional and lots of character but with all modern amenities

We had a lovely break in this beautiful part of the country. The house is warm and welcoming and very comfortable to come back to at the end of a busy day out. It was also spotlessly clean. We will definitely return

Warm and spacious

  • 4 of 5

A lovely spacious home, with big living room upstairs and dining area downstairs. The children especially enjoyed the big garden area, and the adults the conservatory.

Very well located for small local shops and tea rooms, as well as easy access to the surrounding hills for walking and cycling.

Lovely house ideal for a large group

  • 5 of 5

We were in Hathersage for a family wedding and the house was perfect - it absorbed lots of us without ever feeling crowded (plenty of bathrooms), everything worked, it's centrally situated and tastefully decorated.

All communication was easy, friendly and helpful, and we were so pleased to find the welcoming cake and other essentials!

(Having read a previous post I took my extension lead for hair drying which was useful! Another handy thing would be hooks in the bathrooms and bedrooms.)

As we were in Hathersage for a wedding we really didn't venture very far, but I would love to return to explore further. It is a beautiful part of the world. Thank you for having us.

Sue
