Villa Feia in Korakohori is situated in a private olive grove and vineyard and overlooking a bay with access to a lagoon and views of the Ionian sea (clear day and night views of Zante and Kefallonia). The villa meets the exacting standards of the Greek National Tourist organisation (EOT) and has the required licence (0415k92000431501). A spacious and architecturally designed house (with a personal and hospitable touch), it can comfortably accommodate up to 5 people. Large veranda and garden, opened terrace, barbecue and terrace shower, garden furniture, dining area with a view of the sea and garden and a private swimmingpool are just a few of the amenities on the ground floor.. Both bedrooms on the second floor have comfortable furniture and their own balconies with breathtaking views of the sea and garden. The living room can sleep 1 person on a comfortable sofabed when needed. The livingroom also includes a dining area. All outside areas are fully lit at night and both the property and the garden are suitable for children. Its unique location and surroundings makes it a popular destination both for summer and winter travellers.

Local area - Ileia Perfecture: Important archaeological sites of Greece like Ancient Olympia, endless beaches, internationally recognized canyons with amazing journeys in nature, protected areas with rare species of animals, birds and plants, traditional residential areas that highlight the particular characteristics of each region. All of this creates a colorful picture that will amaze you and one by one you will discover the pieces that complete the puzzle of Ileia.

Climate in Ileia: Summers in Ileia are reliably long and dry with brilliant sunshine and generally calm seas. This sort of weather usually lasts from May to October, with July and August being the hottest months. In spring and autumn there is generally plenty of sun although the temperatures are lower than in the summer. December to March is the wet and windy period. In summer the wind is usually very light in the mornings, picking up around noon and dying away at sunset. Sea temperatures for swimming start at 18ºC/65ºF in May rising to 25ºC/76ºF in August and falling to 21ºC/72ºF in October. Occasionally the evenings may seem cooler so a jumper is advisable even during the summer months. Sporadic showers can occur throughout the season. In May there are wild flowers in profusion, and as June approaches there are fireflies and the water temperature is rising. Greater quantities of fruit and vegetables are available. In July and August warm seas have phosphorescence and high temperatures. September and October see the start of the grape harvest and the valleys are carpeted with cyclamen. The bracken and olive trees remain green throughout the year. Sporadic showers can occur throughout the season.

Directions: The main road that leads to Villa Feia is the highway 'Patras-Pyrgos-Ancient Olympia'. At the 91st km from Patras, just a couple of kilometers before the entrance of Pirgos City, you meet the Lasteika Crossroad and you turn right. The crossroad is controlled by traffic lights and road signs there guide us in southwest Katakolon and Skourochori. The actual roadsign reads: 'Katakolo 11klm'. We follow the road and having come across the railway line, we continue for 200 meters and then turn right again towards Skourochori. We cross Skourochori and follow the signs to Korakohori which is approximately 5 km fron Skourochori. Once in Korakochori we follow the local signs to Domaine Mercouri.

Perfect villa

  • 5 of 5

We spent two wonderful weeks at this perfectly situated villa. The proximity to the sea with brilliant snorkelling from the little bay at the bottom of the garden was really special: innumerable fish species, starfish and eve a turtle!

Anna and her husband were very kind and considerate hosts: the pears, free range eggs and aubergine feta pastry were delicious.

The sunsets over Zakynthos and Kefalonia were another highlight.

A truly beautiful place.

Beautiful quiet setting with the sound of the sea.

  • 5 of 5

The two of us (couple in late 60's) received a very warm welcome from Anna (the owner) and Saskia on arrival. Villa Feia is in a very beautiful quiet setting at the end of a no through road. It is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The garden and pool area are very pretty and there are plenty of poolside loungers.

Saskia gave us lots of advice on tavernas, most of which have wild fish to choose from the kitchen (unlike a lot of places in Greece where you are now only offered farmed species). We found some very pretty sandy beaches within a short drive - some with free sun bed & shades. There is a swimming area below the villa.

The winery just along the road has interesting tours and bottles to buy - very handy!

Anna was on hand if needed, but very discreet and we actually had no problems at all. Saskia speaks excellent English and is lovely and very helpful. We would thoroughly recommend Villa Feia for a quiet and restful holiday and certainly hope to go back.

Bonza holiday!

Four of us - two Aussie couples, stayed for a week after a sailing trip in the Peleponnese.

I note all the reviews are "5 star" and a reader might think that is over-rated, but the home offers exceptional value. It is very comfortable, the location and views are gorgeous, and the owners, Anna & Panos could not have been more welcoming and helpful ( including Panos training us in Greek BBQ skills to achieve the perfect meal).

The villa is ideally located on the edge of a winery ( we were frequent purchasers of the Fume wine there!) and beside the sea. The pool was regularly put to use and we also loved the ocean swimming spot down the steps in front.

Saskia met us when we arrived and took us through all the instructions and even came to our help late at night when we thought we had locked ourselves out. A few quick phone calls to her also resulted in good suggestions for lengthy day trips. A very complete area trip manual and maps are provided.

In summary, we loved the place. To say it well exceeded our expectations is an understatement and if we could award a 5.5 out of 5 we would be happy to do so!

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at Anna’s house was unforgettable. The house is wonderful, located on the side of Ionian Sea. The scenery was magnificent; it made us feel like we are in a small paradise. Anna and her husband, Panos, were very polite and they welcomed us as friends. They shared useful information with us, including the best beaches and restaurants around the area. They also told us to attend a Greek music performance in the theatre of Ancient Olympia and we had a lovely time there. My husband and I will remember this vacation for years and we really hope to go back soon.

Beautiful place for a romantic vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Villa Feia for our honeymoon and did not regret it for a moment. The owners and Saskia made us feel very welcome. The surroundings of Villa Feia are beautiful, with the ocean sounds, private garden, swimming pool and sandy beaches very nearby. The house is also beautiful and well maintained by the owners. You can see the love the have put in this place. Also, everything you need is available (kitchen utensils, clean towels and bedsheets etc..). If you need tips and advice for daily trips or good food, ask Saskia or the owners Anna and Panos. They now the area by heart. Make sure to visit Olympia. We loved driving around, visiting small beaches en and having diner in local restaurants and tavernes. Couldn't have a better honeymoon. Anna, Panos and Saskia, thanks for your great hospitality!

Gorgeous villa on the peloponnesian sea front

  • 5 of 5

It was a marvellous experience for my family and I to spend our vacation at Villa Feia.

The first morning we woke up, it was stunning to see the Ionian sea in front of your window. We enjoyed every aspect the villa; the pool, the house,

the garden, the close access to the sea, the walks around the area and the local food. The house and the garden were very unique, as they were decorated based on Greek aesthetics, while incorporating the personal style of the owners. Anna & Panos were always there to help us with questions and recommendations for local trips and leisure activities. We felt like family guests, while our privacy was fully respected.

We would highly recommend Villa Feia for those who wish to experience an authentic environment in Peloponnese and have a relaxing and refreshing vacation in a small paradise.

@Anna & Panos: Thank you for your time and effort to make our vacation unforgettable. Auf wiedersehen.:)

The property itself once belonged and is adjacent to the Merkouri Estate. The renowned estate is extensive with over 150 years of history in the production of wine, olive oil and in the olden days, Corinthian grapes (or currants). The estate vineyards are located beside the family residence and in two nearby locations, with

a total area of approximately 180 acres. The land and the climate are particularly well-suited for the production of high-quality wines. Domaine Mercouri using the wonderful nature that surrounds the old and traditional architecture, the facilities, the the hospitality of its human resources and brand products, offers Agrotourism services to small or larger groups of friends of nature and wine.

Great monuments and archaeological places of international importance such as Olympia, Ancient Ilis, Epikourios Apollon are at a close distance. Katakolo which is a small marine city located at the area of the ancient Fia and it is the current port of the prefecture.
