Hollyhocks is a typical character Cypriot village cottage which exudes Old World charm with its beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, old Cypriot doors and a stone built fireplace. The cottage is furnished with antique Cypriot furniture to enhance its ambiance. At the front, a large terrace provides an area for al fresco dining while enjoying the superb views of Bellapais Abbey and the Mediterranean. At the rear, a large, secluded, and mature garden provides a delightful setting for a relaxing afternoon amongst various fruit and nut trees and flowering shrubs.
This was one of the best holidays we have ever had. Hollyhocks with its lovely garden at the back and verandah to the front has everything you need and more. We have rebooked for next year. R&C Thorne.
Hollyhocks is a delightfully situated and appointed cottage. The holiday has been a special experience for us in the tranquil village of Bellapais. RJ Adams.
In the morning it was fantastic opening the back door to the scent of orange blossom and the sight of the mountains in the distance. H&H Henk.
Late breakfasts on the verandah overlooking the stunning views of the coastline will stay with us as one of the highlights. S Millett & J Adams.
We Love the cottage - it is so comfortable and obviously a much loved second home to you - and this past two weeks to us. The cottage is so well equipped and the beds and furniture very comfortable. Such an honour to have lights that you can read by in the evening. Unlike most rented properties everything seems to work. E&C Taylor
Hollyhocks is a delightful property in Bellapais with easy access to the many good restaurants. Well furnished and comfortable, with wonderful views from the terrace to the abbey and to the coast.
Very good value and an ideal location from which to explore Northern Cyprus or to simply relax. Car hire recommended and easily arranged via the owners.
Our visit to Cyprus was to attend a wedding at Bellepaise Abbey, and having travelled such a long distance, to make the most of the opportunity and view a part of the world we had heard so much about but never seen.
Your villa provided us with an excellent base, with good comfortable bed and clean bedding, and a very well equipped kitchen.
Thank you for the very welcome,"welcome pack" wine etc.
The views from the terrace were indeed beautiful.
Of all the wedding party we had the most perfect location, well within very easy walking distance.
Thank you very much for your attention to us , we do not know whether we will be able to visit Cyprus again, but we will keep you in mind and we will not hesitate to pass your details to others.

The enchanting village of Bellapais is dominated by it's world famous 12th Century Augustinian Abbey and is situated high in the hills overlooking the Kyrenian coastal plain. Bellapais was immortalized by Lawrence Durrell in his classic book 'Bitter Lemons' (1957) and has hardly changed since his time. You can still relax with a cool drink under the "Tree of Idleness" and watch the day slip away, or, energy permitting, explore the ruins of the beautiful Abbey and take in the superb views of the Kyrenian coastal plain below. The tranquility experienced within the Abbey walls is magical.
The centre of Bellapais (a two minute walk from our cottage) has several excellent restaurants, gift shops, and a grocery store.
