Overview
Spacious cottage sleeping 6 with garden and parking. Accessible to all age groups and within a short drive of lots of local shops, amenities and attractions.
Bayside Cottage is one of a small number of farm buildings with tall raftered ceilings, which have been converted to a high standard offering modern facilities and appliances. It is in a cul-de-sac courtyard setting which is safe and quiet but, straight across from the private driveway entrance to the properties, is beautiful Budle Bay with views across to Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island. Bamburgh and its Castle is a mile away, so the Cottage is ideally placed for lovers of the sea, vast sandy beaches, castles, wildlife and countryside.
The cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard. Our aim is that Bayside Cottage offers a homely and relaxing retreat in this beautiful location. There is a large Master suite with Superking bed, seating area, TV and Ensuite. Two further bedrooms, one twin and the third that can be set up as a twin or as a superking depending on the needs of our guests. A patio with table and chairs and BBQ offers additional eating space and a lawned garden gives views across the Bay towards Lindisfarne. The garden is on two levels with the upper level offering views across the bay. We provide a large BBQ, outside seating and a washing line.
Regret no pets. During the main season from June to September we usually only accept full week or fortnight bookings starting on a Saturday.
This property suits a wide range of groups from friends looking for a relaxing place to spend time, families with children wanting to get to the beach on foot and multi generational families needing comfortable space where everyone can enjoy themselves. All three bedrooms are well proportioned with no one having to squeeze into a tight space. There is good storage.
Previous visitors have commented on how comfortable and welcoming the property is, the high standard of the fixtures and fitting and the fact that the kitchen is equipped with a wide range of utensils making self catering a pleasant experience.

Why Sheena Harrison chose Northumberland Coast
Having visited this area for over 20 years we have finally put our roots down in this lovely cottage. We chose this particular property for its proximity to the beach, Bamburgh and Seahouses. When we visit we rarely travel very far and instead enjoy everything that this quaint and historic area has to offer.
What makes this cottage unique
The cottage is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. It provides us with a break from our normal hectic lifestyle and a haven away from all our usual cares. The cottage and area is loved by all our family and friends from mothers in their eighties and youngsters who still revel in the waves and shell collecting on the beach. Please note we do not accept pets at Bayside.
The real benefits of this cottage are its proximity to such unspoiled beaches, the short walk down to the beach and the ever changing scenery of the Bay.
The cottage is well proportioned and we like to think it feels like a home rather than just a holiday let.

A fantastic cottage close to Bamburgh and the wonderful Northumberland coast.
Just back from a long weekend in this charming cottage.
We were a group of 6 adults. There was plenty of space for us all.
The cottage is beautifully decorated to a high specification and everything you could need for your stay. (The kitchen is especially well equipped)
The setting is very picturesque as you are only yards away from Budle Bay. A walk to Bamburgh is possible along the beach and back a coastal path through the golf course.
I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone.
Warm cosy cottage for 1/2 term break
We stayed at Bayside Cottage for the February half term break. The cottage was very warm, welcoming and cosy. It was very clean, towels etc were provided and the quality of the fixture and fittings was very high. We did not have the best weather but it is only a short walk down to the beach at Budle Bay and we enjoyed some bracing coastal walks along beautiful sandy beaches. Be warned that many of the tourist attractions at this time of year are closed inc Alnwick Castle. However, we were able to explore Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle so we weren't short of great things to do. Would recommend the Potted Lobster in Bamburgh for dinner!! Big thumbs up for Bayside Cottage!!
Very very spacious and so comfortable.
A very happy and chilled stay was had by the whole family at the cottage. Excellent facilities and so spacious. The location was perfect with so many things to do in and around the area. We will be back.
Wonderful holiday. A real home from home
Our family have visited this part of the wonderful Northumbria coastline for many years and our stay at Bayside Cottage provided us with the best acommodation we've had. The cottage is lovely. Extremely well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. The rooms are warm and comfortable and a delight to come home to after a bracing October walk along the beautiful coastline. There is a lovely view of the bay from the back garden which is the perfect place to sit and unwind with mug of coffee or glass of wine in hand. And so much to do in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the beach at Bamburgh with its enormous sand dunes and the fish and chips in Seahouses. So many interesting places are within easy reach including the spooky Chillingham Castle with its wild white cattle. We also enjoyed the boat trips from Seahouses and our day at Cragside where we picnicked in the beautiful gardens. Hope to return soon to continue the adventure and to enjoy the comfort and luxury of Bayside Cottage.
Perfect home from home
We have stayed at other self-catering holiday homes in Northumberland, but this one was by far the best: light, airy rooms with good quality furnishings; a well-stocked kitchen of both equipment and appliances; enclosed back garden with patio and barbeque with views across the bay to Holy Island and two car parking spaces to the front of the property. All this plus the fact that the nearest beach was only minutes from the front door. We had books, games and toys to entertain if we had had poor weather, but we were able to make use of the outdoor equipment in the garden and on the beach. After a full day exploring this stunningly beautiful area, we looked forward to returning to Bayside Cottage each evening to relax and plan our next day's activiyies. All in all, a great holiday in a super home. Thank you for having us - we look forward to our next visit in 2017!
Faultless
I think that it is one of the nicest holiday lets that I or any of my family have ever stayed in. The house is unbelievably well equipped - the owners thought of everything and that made the stay all the more comfortable. This was especially the case for my 90 year old grandmother who was staying with us. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this cottage.

Special interest holidays:
Sea fishing is available at several nearby locations. Organised sea fishing boats leave Seahouses harbour everyday in season. Bird watchers will find much to occupy them both in nearby Budle bay and the Farne Islands with their famous puffin and seal colonies. The most adventurous can learn to kite surf and costeering is also available nearby.
Coast/Beach:
North Northumberland beaches are famous for their vast expanses of golden sand with rugged castles framed in the landscape. Bayside cottage is just a 500metre walk to the beach that edges Budle Bay and as the tide advances and retreats this area becomes an incredible beach playground. A short drive will bring you to the sandy beaches of Bamburgh village and Seahouses. For a memorable cliff top walk drive to Craster (10 miles) and head towards the haunting ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (NT/EH)
Travel:
The cottage is situated just three miles from the A1. A car is highly recommended to enjoy this area with car hire available in Newcastle, Alnwick and Berwick upon Tweed. Closest airport is Newcastle International (50 miles), North Shields ferry terminal (50 miles). Local train stations include Berwick (20 miles) and Alnmouth (16 miles)
Distances:
Bamburgh village 1 mile, local shops, pubs, restaurants, fruit/veg and butchers, Castle and Grace Darling museum. Seahouses 4 miles for small supermarket, bakers, fresh fish shop, fish and chips shops plus other takeaway food. Mini golf, amusements and gift shops. Alnwick 16 miles. Famous for Alnwick Castle and Gardens plus Barter Books. It also offers a good range of shops, supermarkets, leisure centre with pool and other regular activities.
Further Details:
North Northumberland is a hidden gem. History lovers can immerse themselves in castles and stories of old England, Boarder Reivers and the Romans. Garden lovers can explore the extensive estate at Cragside (NT), the fantastic Alnwick Gardens or the more quaint Chillingham Castle. Families are able to enjoy a different beach everyday or pick and chose from the many family themed events that take place at local attractions throughout the main season and into the Christmas period. Walkers can venture into the Northumberland National Park and enjoy the landscapes of the Cheviots. The towns of Seahouses, Alnwick and Berwick will provide all of the more modern conveniences that may be required on your visit but really you are most likely to revel in the relaxed atmosphere that Budle Bay and Bamburgh offer. Several excellent pubs and restaurants are on the doorstep offering good quality and reasonably priced food and drink.

Please email for availability, a 25% deposit at time of booking is required with remaining balance due 2 months prior to visit. Property available from 4pm on day of arrival and to be vacated by 10.30am on day of departure. There is parking for two cars. Highchair and travel cot available.
