Guestbook comments from the owner

What a perfect stay. Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer! its perfect for touring or just relaxing, loved the views.

We will definitely be back next time we are in the UK.

Well what can we say! This is our 3rd visit and just as wonderful as the first. Everything you could wish for and a fantastic view to top it off! Louise Paul and Family are so friendly and they make you feel like old friends & so welcome.

When we saw the Deer it was amazing. Loads of great walks and coming back to look at this wonderful view has made this a really relaxing week.

(Dawn and Paul, Mansfield, Notts.)

Fantastic location, beautiful views, very comfortable accommodation. Bed and duvet wonderful. Very warm welcome and help throughout our stay. Plenty of food and drink, loved the chocolate on the bed! Hope to also come back soon!

Wonderful, warm (!!), modern yet full of character and perfectly located - thanks for a great stay!

Stoke Farm cottage has a stunning view out onto Froggatt Edge while you eat your breakfast. This quiet, set apart, immaculate, open plan living space is wonderfully laid out, very comfortable and modern (the water is hot, the shower is full, the heating/kitchen are great and there's TV / wifi if you want it). Located right in amidst all the best that the Peak District has to offer including many walks and creative industries. It is also near enough to Sheffield and Chesterfield to mean that theatre and cinema options are there if you want them. The owners are very friendly and helpful but also far enough away that you feel you are very much in your own space. This must be one of the best cottages we have been to and we gladly recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful Derbyshire Barn retreat with stunning views over Hope Valley

  • 5 of 5

We had a superb stay at this private self catering barn in the Hope Valley near Grindleford. The Barn was kitted out to a very high standard with everything you could need for a self catering stay and the views were spectacular, surpassing anything we've had on any break before.

The accommodation was within easy reach of many interesting towns and attractions as well as a good selection of restaurants and pubs within a few miles. The walks along Froggatt Edge were also memorable.

Nothing was too much trouble for Louise, the owner and we on;y wish we had more time there!

We stayed at Stoke Farm for three nights to visit my son who has decided to stay in Sheffield since graduating. Ideally situated for walks around the peaks, this beautiful accommodation has everything you need and the most comfortable bed, ever. Louise was very welcoming, which made our stay even more relaxing. Look forward to returning often!

*Top tip: if you go to Grindleford Station Cafe and order a chip butty, whilst they were probably the best chips I've ever tasted, make sure you've got three other people to share it with...

A perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Staying in this studio apartment, and meeting Paul and Louise, was one of the highlights of our trip to England. The setting is so serene with a view of the hills and the sheep grazing. The pictures on the website are accurate and even more perfect than imagined. We ordered Indian food in from Stony Middleton, I believe it was called, and it was delicious! We also went to the Plough Inn, which offers excellent food and atmosphere. Another highlight was going on some of the prescribed walks in and around the area. Louise was most helpful offering excellent service. It was a joy to be there.

Stoke Farm Studio - 5 stars

  • 5 of 5

We had 5 nights, and I would give this more stars if I could. It was brilliant. So comfortable and cosy, The attention to detail was fantastic. If you want peace and quiet, somewhere to get away from it all - sit and have breakfast with a excellent view of the peaks, go out to great pubs (meals) in walking distance, look no further. Chatsworth, and other places to visit not far. Peak walks on the doorstep. The owners are fantastic - local knowledge from them was top. We are planning to return.

Picturesque, pleasant, peaceful & PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I fancied a trip to the Peak District to celebrate his birthday and we could not have chosen a better place. Louise was lovely and informative when she came to greet us before we even stepped out of the car. We were bowled over by the views of the valley and the cottage before we even stepped foot inside. The cottage was over and above what we expected and though the photos on the website are beautiful seeing the real thing was even better. We had linen and towels with chocolates on the bed and we were only expecting complimentary tea/coffee as per the website but they supplied two kinds of milk, a range of cereals, biscuits, bread, fresh eggs, hot chocolate, butter and orange juice. It was totally unexpected. The farm has the River Derwent running through it and the lambs come right up to the fence. It is a peaceful location not far from Bakewell and there are plenty of pubs and places to eat everywhere. There are not enough words to describe how much of a lovely time we had but we will be coming back and for a lot longer as there is so much to do. 5 stars and more
