Anvil Lodge offers cosy yet modern accommodation in a rural setting on the south side of Swanage. The lodge shares a spacious one acre plot with the main house. The private garden offers lots of open space for relaxation and there is plenty of space for parking. With beautiful views all round, the lodge has access to open countryside, the beach, the south west coastal path and Swanage town via footpaths. The lodge offers clean modern accommodation with underfloor heating throughout, keeping guests comfortable all year round. In warmer months the front doors open right out, to let the morning and afternoon sun come flooding in!

Amazingly beautiful place that can't be beaten

This beautiful lodge is the best place we have stayed for many reasons. I can not give cat and james enough praise for how nice they have made it become. We have had a great family holiday. Me, my wife and 3 children stayed here for the past week and we was all gutted our holiday had to end. The lodge is in the perfect place as its within walking distance to the town and to the coastal walks, but also far enough away that it's the most relaxing holiday we have had. Plenty to do, and some amazing beaches around the area, with water sports activities for all the family. The lodge has everything you could ask for with enough space that we didn't get under each other's feet at any point. Without doubt, we will be going back and feel I feel I have finally found a place I would use year after year. I will be recommending this place to my family and friends, and would also to anyone reading this as its such and amazing place ran by and amazing couple who I can't thank enough.

A warm, peaceful cottage ideal for a relaxing break away.

A wonderfully warm Cottage with endless hot water courtesy of a Ground source heat pump.

Located a pleasant walking distance from Swanage town centre the Cottage is well equipped with all comforts catered for.

We will be back.

High quality, good sized accomodation

The property didn't disappoint and was a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen had all the essentials and everything provided was to a good standard.The tea and milk on arrival was a nice touch.Just watch your head in the bedrooms. We will be back I hope.

The converted lodge was perfect for our family of 5 and a beautiful location

The lodge is well equipped and very comfortable for a family stay including self-catering, relaxation and sleeping as well as a lovely garden including a table tennis table.

The location is perfect, you can walk to the SW coast path by footpath in 10 minutes and the opportunities for exploring the coastline are wonderful. Equally you can walk either by coast path or footpath into Swanage town and enjoy all the local amenities. the children loved Swanage beach as well as the crazy golf, curiosity shops and fish and chips!

The property is well situated for exploring the local area, Corfe Castle and Studland Beach are both stunning.

Catherine and James were very helpful and friendly. The accommodation has a family-run feel.

We will definitely be returning to Anvill Lodge and I would recommend to other families or small groups of friends for a walking holiday.

The Lodge was well appointed and clean, the owners welcoming and helpful. the Purbecks is a favourite location for us and the Lodge was in a good location for walking and cycling. We would recommend it.

Coast/Beach:

Swanage beach is a 10 minute walk away through Swanage town centre. The rocky coastline of the South west coast path in the south is a 10 minute walk away via footpath and Durlston Country Park.

Travel:

Swanage can be accessed via Poole and Wareham or via the chain ferry located at Sandbanks/Studland. Timings for your chosen route can depend on time of day and time of year and it's always worth phoning the Studland chain ferry to see if there is a queue.

Further Details:

Swanage and surrounding area is fantastic for walking, climbing, biking, windsurfing, surfing and of course enjoying the long sandy blue flag beach. As climbing, cycling and windsurfing enthusiasts, we are happy to advise!!

Swanage has many Pubs, cafes and restaurants to cater for all. The surrounding area has some infamous pubs and eateries on which we are happy to advise!!

Outside: Outside there is a relaxing and tranquil private garden, offering lawn games and table tennis. A sunny deck with BBQ allows you to enjoy both sun rise and sun set. Fresh eggs from our resident chickens available on request! The lodge has beautiful views all around and is nestled between numerous footpaths from which you can explore the surrounding countryside and coast. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (not beach towels!!) and linen are included, and would be changed if your visit exceeded 7 nights. Other: For outdoor enthusiasts there is dry storage to lock equipment, e.g. bikes, surfboards etc...
