About Vicky Jones

We are the Jones Family,my name is Vicky, my husband is Jason we have two boys Lewis and Max, and a dog called Scooby. We have lived in this area all our lives. We love it here as it is quiet and secluded a perfect way of life for our family. With the coastline and lovely sandy beaches with its surf only five minutes away which the boys really enjoy.

Our aim is to provide a relaxing and comfortable stay, and to treat our guests like we would like to be treated on holiday.

Vicky Jones purchased this barn in 2010

Why Vicky Jones chose Stratton

We have owned this property for five years, we fell in love with it the first time we viewed it especially for its location, seclusion and panoramic views. Situated on the edge of the quiet historic village of Stratton just off the A39 and being only five minutes from Bude, with all the amenities, especially the beaches. We have recently converted the old derelict barn to a very high standard self contained holiday cottage, with its own enclosed garden, and tranquil surroundings. Perfect base for exploring Devon and Cornwall.

What makes this barn unique

Roof Tops is in a perfect location for exploring all parts of the North Cornwall coastline and beyond. For its stunning coastal walks with breath taking scenery, secluded beaches and thriving fishing villages.

Our property offers enclosed garden with patio area for BBQ, storage for surf boards and bikes. Excellent local pubs serving good food just a stroll away.Take the stress out of your holiday and leave your car at Roof Tops and take a five minute walk to catch the bus to Bude and surrounding villages.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A wonderful holiday and fantastic place to stay! The cottage was even better than the photo's which looked lovely! The hosts were great, always on hand if we needed anything. We hope to return again in the future! The area is fab for exploring Devon and Cornwall. We recommend eating at The Tree Inn in Stratton and Herbasca in Bude. Thanks so much, hope to see you again some day. Alex, Mat & Christian, Sep 2013

PERFECT holiday. Well thought out beautifully presented barn conversion. Superb, quiet location, ideal for exploring the area. Bude beaches superb for the little ones, who love it so much here (what they call the new house) that they don't want to leave! Thank you to the owners for being such lovely hosts. In the background, but there if we needed you! looking forward to coming again! Ernest Louise & family, Aug 2013

Many thanks to our hosts for making us so welcome in this beautiful barn conversion, well equipped and to a five star standard. Ann, Mike Norma & Bill, Oct 2013

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

Wow what a lovely barn conversion. Everything we could have wished for. Immaculately clean (and I'm very fussy!), beautifully decorated and very comfy, a real find. Owners live on site, so handy if there's a problem but not intrusive. Crean teas and crene eggs on arrival much appreciated.

Wouldn't hestitate to recommend.

Thank you Vicky and Jason

It is ideally located to explore the sights of Cornwall with beaches within 10 mins driving distance. Great place to stay and a warm welcome

  • 5 of 5

We had great week staying at Roof Tops. Vicky and Jason were so nice and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. The property has been beautifully restored and was a perfect location for a holiday near the coast. We absolutely loved it as did our children and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to others, I'm sure we'll be back!!

'Home from home'

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at rooftops. The barn conversion is in a quiet spot at the end of the village. It is very clean and well equipped. It is a great base for exploring north Cornwall/south Devon. The coastline is beautiful with some lovely beaches, not to mention the restaurants and cafe's. We cycled part of the Tarka trail, which was lovely. We had a very memorable holiday and would love to return. Highly recommend this property.

Outstanding Property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Rooftops in June 2015 and we had an absolutely wonderful week. The standard of the property did not disappoint and everything was of the highest quality. It is the one of our top three properties that we have ever stayed in and will book another week in the very near future.

Thank you once again
