Coast/Beach:

5 minutes walk to South Bay beach.

There are two beaches within walking distance of Seaview. The North bay is fairly quiet with its rockier geology. Most flock to the south bay where the beach enjoys a large sandy bay with good facilities and child friendly amenities. You can also enjoy an old-fashioned donkey ride on the beach which always proves popular with young families. All this and an award for its water quality means this area is a one of the most visited in Yorkshire.

Lovely cottage in a great location for enjoying Scarborough

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cottage in a quiet location near the castle and between the two bays. It had everything we needed, and was great for our rescue dog who is scared of noise and lots of traffic. Would definitely stay again.

Very pleasant, well maintained and central situated property

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I booked a week in September as we were looking for a break and had not been to this area before. We found the cottage very comfortable and centrally located in Scarborough.

We had a good week touring the area along the coast from Bridlington to Whitby and out over the North Moors, it was very interesting and enjoyable. We took the steam train from Pickering to Whitby which was again interesting and very popular, it was almost full. Whitby is very pretty and we returned there to explore further as we only had a limited stop over time with the train.

A bonus was that on our first weekend it was an annual charity rally for Honda Goldwing motorbikes and it was quite amazing as they shut the roads in Scarborough for a night drive through with the already immaculate machines being covered in lights. The streets were packed with spectators.

Anyway we had a good week and we could not fault the cottage except we did leave a suggestion that a nest of tables would have been handy for drinks in the evening.

A perfect spot.

  • 4 of 5

Brilliant house. Positioned in a super place, 6 mins from tacky fun and 6 mins from beautiful scenery. We loved every day exploring further afield then going out early evening close by. Our 3 year old thought his attic bedroom was so cosy! He slept the best ever! Good for us! I have done lots of research into other properties to stay in but this came out top and did not disappoint.

Nice property but the WIFI didn't work and it was essential to our stay.

  • 2 of 5

Nice property but the WIFI didn't work. The reason we booked the property was for the WIFI as we run an internet business and I have a sleeping disorder - to assist with this I listen to various web sites, thus we needed to be connected through the night and approx. three hours per day to check the business. After two nights of no sleep and difficulties trying to contact clients we had to give up and come away early. No reimbursement offered as yet.

Owner's Response: Lisa contacted us as soon as the wifi stopped working, on Friday evening, we called in to check on Saturday morning and contacted BT who confirmed the fault was theirs and they would send a new router within 2-3 days. Unfortunately Lisa and her family left on Sunday. The router arrived Monday and wifi was re-instated. I put wifi into the cottage last year and didn't adjust the rentals. This was put in as an additional extra and I am at the mercy of BT regarding any issues. Lisa did not alert me to her requirement that they absolutely needed internet, I was not aware of her sleeping disorder or that she would be conducting her business from the holiday cottage. Had I been made aware I would have clearly informed her of the situation. I can only apologise again for any miscommunication.
