1 bedroom apartment with pool in Pino in the Italian Lakes. WIFI. Walk to lakeside
This is a charming 1 bedroom apartment situated in Pino on Lake Maggiore. Just a few minutes walk from the lakeside at Pino where there is a shop, restaurant and beach area, it is in a peaceful location and enjoys stunning lake views both from inside the property and from the private terrace area. Inside, the property is laid out over 2 floors and has been designed to make the most of the wonderful lake views. With the exception of the bathrooms, all rooms are lake facing. Downstairs, there is an entrance hall, open plan kitchen and dining area and bathroom with wash basin, toilet, bidet and shower. Upstairs, there is a living room with sofa bed, a bedroom and another bathroom, this time equipped with wash basin, toilet, bidet and bath tub. Both the bedroom and living room have exceptionally large windows to make the most of the wonderful lake views. Both are extremely light and airy rooms. Outside, guests enjoy a large private terrace measuring approximately 30 square metres. There is also a communal swimming pool to enjoy on site shared with 8 other apartments. The centre of the village of Pino is within walking distance of the apartment. Pino boasts a small grocery store as well as a restaurant and bar. It is a popular spot for windsurfers and there are 2 windsurfing schools within the village. Visitors can also rent canoes from these schools. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the property.

About Jo Mackay
I am a mother with 2 children, age 9 & 12 and a very busy husband! I gave up work with Procter and Gamble 9 years ago to spend time at home with the children. I have loved being able to spend so much time with them. However, with both children now at school, I was keen to start working again. I initially enjoyed managing two of our own holiday properties in the Italian Lakes which we bought in 2008 and 2009 following our first visit to the area in 2007. However, I have now started to manage holiday homes for others, not just in the Italian Lakes, but elsewhere in Italy through my website - I carefully select each property and ensure that I maintain that personal but professional service level that I believe holidaymakers are looking for.
Why Jo Mackay chose Pino sulla Sponda del Lago Maggiore
This is a great property if you want to be able to get out an about on foot without always having to get in a car. Pino is a small lakeside village in Italy but close to the Swiss border. Pino has a restaurant, village store and bar and is just a 10 minute walk away. The beach is also a short walk away. The lake is lovely to swim in and you can also enjoy watersports on the lake.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property enjoys spectacular lake views not just from the large terrace but also from all the main living areas inside too. The property has been tastefully furnished and offers spacious accommodation for 2-4 people. It's ideal for couples or those with young families, or for groups of 4 adults looking for great value accommodation.

Amazing lake views!!
The amazing views described of Lake Maggiore from the property lived up to all our expectations! The patio (being north-facing) was perfect as there was always some shade as well as the sunny area. Pino is a quiet little village with beach, pizzeria and small shop, but within easy reach by car of Switzerland and also the surrounding towns and beautiful hills of Italy. With lakeside beaches at every lay-by and the well laid-out 3V footpaths for mountain walking, this location has everything for both relaxing, or a more energetic holiday. If the lake is not enough for you, then there's the apartment's (shared) swimming pool, although be aware it's unheated! Maybe there is more going on in height of season (we visited in early September), but we'd strongly recommend this apartment for a couple wanting to enjoy the natural beauty of the lake and mountains. (N.B. Not suitable for people with disabilities, as lots of steps both outside and within the apartment, and a very steep slope to the entrance).
Thank you so much for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We agree - the area is beautiful and those views from the terrace just spectacular!
Coast/Beach: The beach and lakeside at Pino is a 10 minute walk away. The train station is a 15 minute walk away. Travel: Fly to Milan Malpensa: approx 45 miles from the property. Easyjet flies from LGW. Fly to Milan Bergamo: transfer time approx 120 mins. Fly to Milan Linate: transfer time approx 120 mins. A train service runs from directly from Milan Malpensa airport to Pino and takes about 1.5 hours. The property is under a 5 minute drive from Pino station or about a 15 minute walk. Distances: Pino is the nearest village and is within an easy walk of the property. Here there is a restaurant, bar and village store. There is a larger supermarket in Maccagno, a 5 minute drive away. The lakeside beach at Pino is about a 10 minute walk from the property. The property is located in Italy but is just a short drive from the Swiss border. Further Details: The property is perfectly placed for visiting Luino, Cannobio, Cannero, Stresa, Ascona, Arona & the Borromean Islands. A great day out is the Lake Maggiore Express by boat up to Ascona and Locarno where you take the '100 Valley' train into the Swiss Alps then connect to Stresa and back by boat to Luino. Also in Switzerland, Valle Verzasca is worth a visit. You can visit the Verzasca Dam which features in Goldeneye. The setting is idyllic. Como is just a 45 min drive. Lake Como enjoys its own ferry service and features Bellagio and Varenna plus Villa Carlotta. In the other direction, Orta San Giulio is definitely one of the prettiest villages on any of the Italian Lakes. It's only a 45 min drive from Lugano & the Monte Salvatore funicular. There is a beautiful lido here too which I would recommend. The brand new lido in Locarno (opened Oct 2009) is also superb. Or you can catch a train into Milan and go shopping. It's a short metro train ride to Santa Maria delle Grazie and Da Vinci's painting of 'The Last Supper.' If you're more of a sports fan, you can take a tour of San Siro stadium. For cheaper shopping, Luino boasts the biggest weekly market in Europe. Or you could have a look at Foxtown, an outlet centre where the most famous brands offer their products at factory prices. Nearby Maccagno is one of the best spots on the lake to enjoy watersports. Val Veddasca is ideal for hiking. The scenery and nature is fabulous. Most of the nearby mountains also have tracks for mountain bikes. The area offers plenty to do for children - Swiss miniature, the Alprose Swiss chocolate factory and the European Museum of Transport. Monte Tamaro is a great place with an alpine bob sleigh and the longest flying fox in Switzerland! Or you could try your hand at falconry or visit a safari park! There is a huge waterpark near Milan.
