About Suzanne Crown
We are offering our luxury home in France as a special place to stay and take in all that Normandy has to offer. The place was bought in 2006 and has been lovingly restored to a high level of comfort in 2010. The Barn is a great escape from the daily rat race ... and is a place filled with calm and tranquility. It has been enjoyed by Honeymoon couples and those wanting a special place to stay. We enjoy our own time in France, and are always planning the next project!
Suzanne Crown purchased this Barn in 2006
Why Suzanne Crown chose Vengeons
We love the area, it is close enough to the ports and airport to make travelling there easy, yet it is in an unspoilt location. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, we are still exploring in all directions! It is not in tourist trap, and the smaller villages around retain their character even today. The locals are mostly French, friendly and welcoming. The country feeling abounds in the produce available in the local shops and markets.
What makes this Barn unique
The property is not just a place to stay .... it is a home. You can enjoy the quiet, peaceful area and yet be in the middle of a bustling town market within minutes. The countryside changes throughout the seasons and each one brings a different feeling to the house. In summer it is bright, open and sunny .... and in winter, warm and inviting .... We offer quality accommodation to enable you to explore and enjoy this region of France.

A truly luxury property in a beautiful setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this stunning property. Just rural enough to be peaceful, but not far from the local towns and restaurants. The property has been renovated to the highest standard, quality fittings used.
Each bedroom having its own en-suite is a big advantage, and the log burner was very efficient.
All in all, a great property. Not the cheapest, but worth every extra penny to enjoy luxury.
Well done, Suzanne, for creating a stunning property.
Thank you so much, it is wonderful to have such appreciative guests.
We have tried to make the Barn much more than most, with high quality being our aim. The place is our own home in France.
I hope you will return again!
Gite made in Heaven
A superb barn renovation ensured this gite was the best we have stayed in. Delightful area, especially Sourdeval; a lovely place to spend an hour or two watching the world go by. Domfront offered a glimpse into the past plus we ate a delicious lunch at Bistro St Julien; l'Abbaye de Hambye was so interesting with a very human background story. Wherever we went we met with friendliness and a desire to help.
Thank you, we are always happy to know our guests have enjoyed our home as much as we do !!
There are so many lovely places to eat nearby ...... choice is the only problem. :)
Top Class Accommodation
The accommodation was fantastic, everything we needed. The property was very well maintained and just as described in the listing. I would highly recommend this property. The town of Sourdeval was also quaint. We liked the walks, the shops and restaurants.
Apple Barn is a well-equipped and beautifully furnished home in rural Normandy. It is set in peaceful surroundings in the midst of lots of wildlife and beautiful countryside. There are good restaurants in nearby towns and it provides a good base for exploring the sights of Normandy. We spent two weeks in this lovely home and would most certainly recommend it to others looking for a quiet break.
Thank you for such a glowing review! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit.
Magnificent property in a charming spot
We were two adult couples and rented the Barn for one week holiday in June.
It is just as it looks on the website : wonderful !
Beautiful and very comfortable barn in a quiet location in the country side. Very nice garden and surroundings.
We had everything we could need : fully equipped kitchen and dining room, very cozy living room.
The two bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms, were very comfortable and had plenty of space to hang clothes, etc.
As it had rained quite a lot with rather low temperatures the whole week, we were a little apprehensive about the cold and humidity in the Barn but we stayed nicely dry and comfortable the entire week !
All conveniences can be found in the nice small town of Sourdeval, just 5 minutes away. Don’t miss the market on Tuesday morning!
We all enjoyed very much our stay at the Barn.
Suzanne provided us with all needed information and stayed in contact with us in case we'd need assistance.
Thank you so much .... it is a pleasure to hear you had an enjoyable holiday. Hope to see you again one day! Suzanne
This is truly 5 star accomodation
My son and I had the pleasure to stay at the apple barn for 4 nights in mid January .
I could not fault the place .
Lovely quiet situation with everything you could need.
The owners have done a brilliant job with the barn conversion and have used high spec fittings and attention to detail.
Great kitchen and showers, huge bath and equally huge flat screen TV.
One morning we awoke to several inches of snow but we were so cosy from the underfloor heating and there is also a log burner - it was magical.
All conveniences can be found a couple of miles down the road in Sourdeval.
Don't hesitate to book this wonderful place which we loved for a winter break and can only imagine what other seasons could bring too for a relaxing vacation .
We will return and many thanks.
