Villa Pierre Werner is a modern villa furnished to a very high standard, air conditioned with luxury kitchen & private swimming pool which can be covered by an Abri. There is a large shaded paved eating area outside with BBQ and sink. The villa is on one level and is suitable for both small children and elderly. The villa can comfortably accommodate two families holidaying together and is tiled throughout. There is a large open plan interior with ample seating. St. Cyprien is a lovely friendly village located close enough (3km) to its 'plage' sister to give you a proper seaside holiday, yet just far enough away to allow you escape the throng and experience real French village life. The boulangerie and supermarket is 5 mins walk away.There is also a park for walkers and joggers, with a lake and kids playground & basketball court. Over at the 'Plage' it's a different world and it leaves you in no doubt you are on holiday, dozens of restaurants, shops and a casino circle the marina and there is a market every night.

About Niamh Fynes

My husband & I live in Dublin Ireland with our three teenage children. We have been holidaying in France for the last 20 years, initially in the Britanny/Vendee region. However having spent a wonderful holiday here in St. Cyprien,and enjoyed the almost guaranteed sun and long lazy days at the beach, we decided to buy our villa here in 2007. We have shared many happy holidays here with family and friends and look forward to plenty in the future.

Why Niamh Fynes chose Saint-Cyprien

We bought the villa in St. Cyprien because of its location. We love to walk and there is a park nearby with a lake with swans and ducks. There are always plenty of joggers and cyclists and rollerbladers around. We love the fact that we have long sunny summers. We also enjoy skiing in winter and the nearest ski station is only 90 minutes drive, so we have the best of both worlds. Even in off peak periods the local restaurants remain open, and the village is lovely to have a wander around.

What makes this villa unique

Our villa is detached and on one level so is very suitable for elderly and young children with no stairs to negotiate. It is also safe as the pool can be covered by an abri when not in use or when there is no adult supervision. We also have roller gates which give added security when closed. The villa can accommodate two families wishing to holiday together and the beds can be interchanged between rooms to suit as necessary. We also have a manager who lives locally who will meet and greet and hand over keys etc.

Enjoyed a very relaxing break at this lovely house and loved being able to see so much of the Region so easily. A local bus is available to take visitors to the beach or marina within minutes, and there is a wide selection of shops and restaurants at the marina, all open late into the evening. The small, typically regional village of St Cyprien is a very short walk from the house and provides all the necessary facilities. We'll be back. Anne

The property is meticulously maintained and should assistance be required help is only a telephone call away to a local couple who manage the property on behalf of the owners. We would like to thank them for making us feel so "at home."

Notes on accommodation: Villa can accommodate large family group or two families holidaying together. Sliding doors lead out to shaded terrace, BBQ, and paved pool area. Plenty of room around pool for relaxing in the sun with ample sun loungers, chairs and umbrella. The bedrooms have ample wardrobe space and shelves for clothes. Outside: The property has a private pool 8 meters by 4 and the surrounding patio area is completely paved. The pool can be covered by an Abri when not in use. The villa is detached and has a large outside dining area which is shaded. A large table and chairs are provided. There is a large BBQ & outside sink area for food preparation. There are sun loungers and sun chairs and an umbrella. There is also a grassy garden space where children can play and also a clothes line. There is parking space for four cars and access is by electric roller gate which makes it very safe for children. There is also parking space on quite cul de sac outside villa. Utility Room: There is a separate utility room which has a washing machine, Iron and Ironing board Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly Linen rental charge €15 / towels €2 per person We require villa & BBQ to be left in a clean condition otherwise local charges will apply. It's a requirement in France that the clients have insurance including public liability & personal injury.

Well appointed spacious villa.

This villa, whilst a little tricky to find was really well located and convenient for both the village and the beach although a car is definitely required.

The villa itself is fully air conditioned, very spacious and comfortably furnished with everything we needed.

The pool and outdoor seating and eating areas are lovely.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this accommodation to others.

chouette séjour !

a nice house in the south of France

The house is very practical and well displayed with a large living/dining room perfect for a large group. The outside space with the barbecue and large table was perfect for dinner and even lunch as it is perfectly under the shadow. The house is perfect for family with young kids. + had many DVD's and some toys for kids which was a blessing. The pool is a very decent size.

to note that one of the bedroom is done as an extension of the house hence no aircon / not much natural light

Perfect Property, Perfect Location

This one is a gem - the house was spotlessly clean when we arrived and is deceptively spacious. The kitchen area is big, has all the plates, pans and kitchen utensils you'll ever need and has an enormous fridge/freezer (good for storing those big boxes of Rose wine that you'll buy). The bedrooms are also large and well laid out with plenty of storage for clothes and all your holiday bits and pieces, plus there is a utility room with even more storage.

The outside area is great for kids and adults alike, nice lawns to the front and rear, a long washing line - which will get wet from the overnight sprinklers so remember to bring your stuff in at night - and a fantastic covered BBQ area that has a sink and a flat-top plancha for easy cooking and cleaning. Good parking space too - we had two cars but you could get a third in there too. However, the best thing about the outside is the pool. It is big and great for leaping in on a hot day but also has steps and shallow areas for kids or just for dipping your feet in. Never too cold, never too hot and it has a cover if you are worried about little ones running around near it.

In terms of location it couldn't be better really. You can walk into the village (good little pub there and a restaurant that is HUGE inside) and it's five minutes drive to the huge beaches and the marina where there are loads of shops and more restaurants. On the way to the beach is a golf course and a sailing lake which you can fish on too. If you are into fishing there are rocky areas on the beach from which to either launch a beachcaster, or follow the locals and use a light rod for the smaller fish closer in.

As a base, we went to Ceret (lots of original Picasso and Maillot there), took maybe 20 minutes by car, and Perpignan but you could easily get further out if you want to explore the Pyrenees more. There are some lovely little villages up and down the coastline which are good for a day's visit. Everywhere you go there are the mountains in the background and they are absolutely beautiful.

In summary: perfect location and a great villa to stay. The only thing I would say is that this is a more modern part of France so expect tourists (mostly French though) and newer property estates rather than lots of big old rambling gite-type houses. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat, very highly recommended.

Fantastic holiday! We'll definitely be back!

I stayed in the villa for 10 days with my partner, our 6 month old son, and another couple with their three small children.

The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and the couple looking after the villa on the owners' behalf were really helpful.

The bedrooms in the villa are spacious and there are few nice touches, like the jacuzzi in one of the showers, a barbecue, an outdoor sheltered dining area for our lunches al fresco and nights in.

The shops are really close (10 minutes walk) and so is the nearest restaurant, which was really handy, especially because we were there with children.

We didn't have to bring towels or bedsheets as they were all provided by the owners, which came in handy since we had more room for our baby stuff in the luggage.

I have to say that the villa has everything you need: all sorts of kitchen utensils, fast Wifi, a big selection of books, DVDs, TV, air conditioning (which was very handy), dishwasher and washing machine. It really is a home away from home.

We used the private pool every day and our friends' kids had a great time in the pool. The place has sun beds, and we were sunbathing while we could watch our baby in the shade under the trestle.

The marina is 5-10 minutes drive away where are lovely shops, bars and restaurants.

After our lovely time spent in the villa, I would highly recommend staying in the place and we will definitely be returning next year!

Would highly recommend

We stayed in this villa for two weeks with another family and couldn't fault the accommodation. The layout of the villa was ideal with spacious bedrooms and several bathrooms. The pool was bigger than we were expecting and was used daily by us. The outside area was ample for 8 people. In fact, the accommodation was so ideal that we spent more time at the villa than going out! The location is also great - a ten minute walk to the old village and a short walk to catch the train to the newer town. The couple who look after the villa for the owners were also extremely helpful on anything we needed and gave us lots of local knowledge. We would definitely recommend to anyone and hope to visit again!

The nearest sandy beach which is blue flag, is about a five minute drive away. However the beaches stretch in either directions for miles so even in the height of summer it's always possible to find a good spot. There are many beach bars and restaurants where you can hire sun loungers & umbrellas and enjoy a lunch of 'moules Frites' washed down with a glass of rose or a cool beer.

There is plenty of opportunity for water sports from jet ski hire to sailing and wind surfing.

St Cyprien Village which is a few minutes walk from the villa has 4 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 supermarkets, butchers, bakers, hair dressers, florists, 2 banks with ATM, internet cafe, indoor swimming pool, hotel and a market which is held on Thursdays. The church dates back to 13 century.

The marina which has many restaurants, bars, night clubs is a few minutes’ drive or you can catch the bus in season. The beach bar/restaurants have the most spectacular views of the mountains, sea and sunset.

The “Petit Train Jaune de la Cerdagne" runs along a 63km route, climbing steeply from Villefranche-de-Conflent to Bolquère and then crossing the plateau of the Cerdagne to Latour-de-Carol. Bolquere is the highest station in France at 1593m.
