About Rupert or Samantha Preston

We're the Preston family: Rupert & Sam and our two teenage daughters. We've lived in Cornwall for 13 years and are constantly discovering new wonderful places in this diverse county.

We all love to surf at Polzeath, sail on the Camel Estuary and water-ski at Rock.

We recommend:

A bike ride on the Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow - 11 miles there and back on level ground. Have lunch at Rick Stein's Fish & Chip Cafe, a look round the shops and then cycle back. (You can hire bikes in Wadebridge).

Lunch at the St Moritz poolside restaurant and a dip in the pool or walk down to Greenaway Beach and hunt for cowrie shells.

A beach barbecue or cook a paella on a fire at the beach.

A walk from Rock Beach to Daymer Bay via a climb up Brae Hill.

Rupert or Samantha Preston purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Rupert or Samantha Preston chose North Cornwall

We moved to Tredrizzick from near Bodmin Moor because we wanted to be nearer the sea. Polzeath Beach, Rock Beach and Daymer Bay are all 3 or 4 minutes drive away. There are numerous shops just up the road and the ferry to Padstow from Rock. Port Isaac (traditional Cornish fishing village and location for Doc Martin) is 8 minutes drive away with an abundance of restaurants, pubs and shops. Wadebridge town is just a 7 minute drive away.

What makes this cottage unique

The beauty of Little Meadows is that, although the house is in close proximity to all you need on holiday, it's in a lovely peaceful village location with rural views over green fields.

You can cycle straight out of here and be on Rock Beach in 10 minutes.

You can walk straight out of here and find wonderful long dog walks on footpaths and beaches.

Exceptional! 5/5 -

average rating of 5.0 based on 8 reviews

Clean and spacious holiday home.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in Cornwall and we chose Little Meadows from all the good reviews and pictures. It did not disappoint. It was clean and spacious and great for relaxing in when you have had a busy day sightseeing and playing on the beach. The open plan layout downstairs was simple and stylish and the kitchen was adequate for a family of four. The bedrooms were also very spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was quaint with its decoration and design.

Samantha and Rupert were great at communicating before and after our stay. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to family and friends.

Ideal summer home

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year we have stopped at Little Meadows and it still has the same style and comfort. What impresses us most is that it has still been well maintained over the past 3 years. It is our holiday home to chill and relax after a day at the beach. Will definitely be returning in the future.

My husband, myself, my two daughters and our golden retriever spent 10 wonderful days staying in Little Meadows. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and just perfect for our family. Sam and Rupert were incredibly helpful hosts even providing us with a keyboard for my daughters as their piano exam was the day after we arrived home. We can't thank you enough. Excellent facilities for our dog too with a small gated grass and shingle area at the back. Inside the cottage the kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed; it was home from home. The cottage is excellently located. It was a very pleasant 45 minute walk from the cottage to Rock to get the ferry to Padstow. There is so much to see and do in the area my daughters' favourites definitely the beach hack at Perranporth beach and the Total Wipeout at Retallack not far away. We will definitely be back. 10/10.

Little Meadows, Big on Style and Comfort

  • 5 of 5

We had stayed in various holiday homes in this area in the past but this was the best one by far. The home is styled in a beautiful vintage/retro fashion. As soon as we walked in we all said a big WOW ! It met all our needs for the week. It was lovely, clean and fresh when we arrived. Its within walking distance to the local pubs and a short drive to various beaches, although Polzeath beach was where we spent most of our time ! After various emails with Samantha the owner it was a pleasure to finally meet her in person. We loved it that much that we have already left a deposit for our holiday at Little Meadows in 2015 !

Fantastic accomodation

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic, clean accommodation the best we have stayed in, in Cornwall. The online pictures of the accommodation give the impression the rooms look quite small when actually they are very roomy. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Great find, great location, great holiday

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a 10 day stay at little meadows in July. The property was ideal for us for our family holiday. The open plan kitchen/living/dining area is simply, but stylishly furnished and decorated . Several nice touches like a large collection of DVDs, and board games to play if there was a wet day. The buckets/spades and boogie boards were also useful!

The location was ideal, less than 5 miutes drive to great beaches, Daymar bay good for young families, no surf, Polzeath good for surf and Rock is only minutes away.

Rupert and Sam were very friendly, and communication both before, during and after our stay was excellent.

The property is fairly new to the rental market, hence I assume the lack of reviews, but I would have no hesitation recommending little meadows and hope to return.
