This spacious converted barn is located in an elevated position over looking the Shropshire Hills. With 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite) and an open plan layout downstairs the property is perfect for a large family group or two families holidaying together. At the front of the property there is a large private courtyard which can accommodate parking for 4/5 cars and at the rear there is a large garden with open countryside views. The property is very well equipped and comfortable and is perfectly situated for walkers or those looking for a country retreat.
As this is our family home and decorated and maintained to a high standard we are reticent about bookings which include dogs (despite loving them ourselves). Please contact us to discuss if you wish to bring a loved family dog.
We live in Frodesley, Shropshire, England and have 2 children. We love travelling abroad and make the most of opportunities our careers allow to explore new countries. We love the outdoors and appreciate the natural beauty and peace of our surroundings and the opportunities for leisure this brings us. We use the woods behind us and the lanes that lead from Frodesley for cycling, running and walking. We originate from Sussex and Surrey but have both lived in the Midlands for the majority of our lives.

We moved to Shropshire 15 years ago to escape city life and we can't imagine ever wanting to live anywhere else. It's a lovely county with some stunning, unspoilt countryside and unlike other areas of outstanding natural beauty it is never very busy, there is very little traffic and the Salopians are very friendly.
The property is in a great location as it is set in front of Forestry Commission woodland and has amazing views across the Shropshire Hills. On a clear day you can see the Black Mountains in Wales. From the barn you can walk to the Long Mynd or just stroll through the woods. The property is only a 15 minute drive from the pretty market town of Church Stretton which is the starting point for many walkers. Or, if you prefer shopping Shrewsbury, with its wealth of individual shops and cafe is 20 minutes away. As we spend most of the year in our home it is very well equipped and is very comfortable. We leave our kitchen cupboards full of the extras that in many other rentals guests would have to purchase - such as tea bags, herbs, sauces, dried pasta, washing liquid etc, and hope guests will replenish stocks if they become depleted!
There is very little noise here and night-times are extremely peaceful and it becomes properly dark as we are away from bright lights.
Very clean and well appointed barn conversion. Spectacular views of around 35 miles across the Severn valley and into the hills of Wales. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding areas including the impressive Iron Bridge Gorge and its several attractions. We could not fault the accommodation or facilities at the Barn.
Due to the properties rural location use of a car is essential.

Set amidst the rolling hills and beautiful countryside, the village of Frodesley is in a stunning, peaceful setting and is an excellent spot for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. The area also boasts excellent facilities for horse riders. The local area is home to the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, Attingham Park (NT), Severn Valley Steam Railway, Stokesay Castle, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and the Ironbridge Gorge. The pretty market towns of Church Stretton and Much Wenlock are both close by and offer a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
The nearest local shop & post office is in Acton Burnell which is 3 miles from the property. Larger supermarkets and a full range of independent and high street shops can be found in Shrewsbury.

Our preferred change over day is Saturday (however we may be able to be flexible on this so please enquire. Arrival time is normally from 3pm and departure is 10am. This enables us to prepare the house to an acceptable standard ready for our next guests.
NO pets please as we are surrounded by farm and other animals.
During some seasons we state that 7 nights is a minimum, as we have to leave our home to rent it and shorter stays are therefore inconvenient and still incur costs such as admin and preparation time and cleaning; however it is always worth enquiring, especially during the summer holiday, as we may be able to accommodate shorter stays.
We do not charge a cleaning fee but do clean the property to a high standard and are generally supported by guests who leave the property in a clean/tidy state, however a cleaner will still come following a booking to ensure the property is absolutely spotless. We also provide clean linen and towels for the maximum stated number of guests.
