What a lovely cottage, my parents fell in love with it, the owner was very nice and helpful and the cottage had everything you could want. We shall definitely be back.
Perfect setting in beautiful surroundings
We had a 5 night stay in Rose Cottage which was perfectly furnished to a high standard and had everything you could need. Very clean, light and airy. Owners very hospitable. Would stay again. Thank you.
When I first walked into Rose Cottage I was very pleasantly surprised. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and I have to say this is one of the best. Large rooms, comfortable and loads of storage. It was great to have so much space and in such beautiful surroundings! Although we visited in August the weather was cool & my only criticism would be that although the upstairs bedroom & bathroom felt warm, the downstairs bedroom & bathroom were cold. We didn't want to mess with the thermostat because we didn't want to make upstairs any warmer. This coupled with a lack of an extractor fan in the downstairs bathroom left these 2 rooms feeling cold & damp. This aside, I would strongly recommend this property as the positives of space and location greatly outweigh any negatives.
Beautiful cottage in a quiet, tranquil setting.
This is such a beautiful cottage. It has everything you need and the provision of milk, coffee, tea and welcome pack of biscuits and delicious lemon drizzle cake was a pleasant surprise after our long drive, everything that we needed was provided, such as washing up liquid and kitchen roll. All the items that would be at hand at home. We arrived late and had diffuculty finding the cottage but the owner was extremely helpful and gave us directions at 10.45pm and it was no trouble. The beds are comfy and the cottage feels really spacious with large rooms and two bathroims I will be recommending this place to friends and family and look forward to our return.
All was amazing. Will deffo be back for sure
Quaint, spacious cottage in lovely grounds
Lovely welcome, nice and warm when we arrived. Local cake, biscuits, honey and milk waiting for us with tea, coffee, toiletries etc. all provided. Decor a little dated but spotlessly clean and nice and spacious. It would be good to see more photos on the website and more detailed directions. Will definitely look to stay again and recommend to friends.
We are a short drive from the beautiful beaches of North Northumberland - Spittal, Goswick, Bamburgh and Alnmouth. To the north, there is good surfing at Coldingham Bay which is a twenty minute drive away.
Due to our rural location, a car is essential. We are only 4 miles from the main A1 road but there is no bus service and limited taxis. We are an hour and a quarter from both Edinburgh and Newcastle airports but are only ten minutes from Berwick upon Tweed with its mainline east coast railway station.
The village of Paxton is one mile away and has a good village pub. The ancient walled town of Berwick upon Tweed is four miles away and has supermarkets, banks, restaurants and the usual local shops. Situated centrally between Newcastle and Edinburgh, this is an ideal location to fully explore both sides of the border with access to a stunning region of walks and strolls along a picturesque coast. This is an historic area of castles and magnificent gardens with heritage.
