Perfection would have given more stars if it was possible 🌟
This was our first visit to Kefelonia but will not be our last and quite possibly be a return trip every year. The location of the villa was absolutely stunning and so is the property. It lacks nothing. Nigel and Deanne are a wonderful couple and perfect hosts. I feel that Bob and I have made new friends I will remain in touch and see again in the future. By staying here we had the best of both worlds in having peace, quiet, and tranquility a the view was spectacular. But then we went down into the village where the choice of excellent tavernas meant we eat at a different one each night and we're spoilt for choosing a favourite. There are several supermarkets and coffee shops. We went out for the day on one of the "yellow boats" and this is a really nice way to look back at the villages and coastline.
Fantastic Villa Thea!
Villa Thea, as its name suggests, has a fantastic view overlooking not only the sea but a complete panoramic view from the island of Ithaca to the town of Sami. It has a lovely private pool and a sunbed area overlooking breathtaking views.
It has all the amenities that you could wish for other than air conditioning. That is made clear from the info/description and something we had discussed prior to booking. It is not a huge issue, although we were there in late August and the temperature was around 38 C which, despite the lovely breezes coming through the screens at night, made sleeping a little less comfortable than it could have been.
The villa is very clean and Nigel and Deanne are wonderful hosts. They made us feel very welcome and the level of personal service and attention is exceptional.
The location of the villa is perfect - it is very close to the shops and restaurants of Agia Efimia and yet it is private and peaceful. The elevated position that gives such spectacular views also means a fairly steep incline to get to the villa, we would therefore recommend a car.
In summary, notwithstanding the minor points above, Villa Thea is a wonderful place to stay. We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend it.
Perfection and the best so far in Kefalonia...
Nigel and Deanne are absolutely delightful hosts and really do pay attention to detail on all counts. From the detail of pool cleaning to the design of the villa. We will most certainly be returning and had a brilliant holiday there.

Beautiful house in stunning location!
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Thea. It's a lovely modern house with a beautiful pool and outdoor area. The view is stunning and Agia Efimia is great for beaches and restaurants. Deanne and Nigel were fantastic hosts and we'd love to return one day.
Villas Thea and Artemis have possibly the best view of all the Greek villas, I have visited over the years. Their location enjoys access to the facilities offered in Agia Efemia, whilst offering the solace that vomes with their spectacular vista.
The villas are beautifully presented with modern elegant fixtures and fittings and are equipped to a very high standard. The open plan layout allows you to maximise the living space and ultilise the views. Both bedrooms have balconies that allow you to sit and enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful scenery. They also both have very luxurious en-suite facilities that have been finished to a very high standard.
The outside space has been thoughtfully planned. The terrace has different seating areas, allowing you to sit and absort the view at different times of day.
The pool area was heavily used especially by my kids. This area comes with very comfortable sun loungers and parasoles to relax and enjoy the magnificent views.
Nigel and Deeanne have created a beautiful space to enjoy the Kefalonian countryside. They were tremendously warm and welcoming and obviously enjoy sharing their villas, having created the perfect environment to enjoy a little bit of Hellenic heaven.
They offered valuable insights on places to visit and things to do. I have visited the island many times but they have given us many more reasons to keep going back.
We spent 10 amazing days in this wonderful villa - we don’t want to leave. The owners, Nigel & Deanne and first class. We feel like we have known them years.... they met us when we arrived and showed us around. They have thought of every creature comfort you could possible need/want while staying here. We did hire a car to get around and Nigel & Deanne gave us some good info of “must see” places during our 10 day stay - we were not disappointed. the only bad thing..... we have to leave and go home....
WHERE IS THE VILLA?
The villa is minutes from the centre of Agia Efimia harbour village and is reached along a quiet, tree lined road and pedestrian footpath with shaded seating that winds along the edge of the sea past a few houses and restaurants. In moments you reach a private road/track that climbs up to "The View" villa which gets its name from its stunning south facing location looking out over the bay towards the island of Ithica and Sami, with yachts, fishermen and ferry boats coming in and out. Conveniently close to the village the location however is so peaceful that you can hear the birds singing in the trees and the sheep on the hills behind.
Two minutes drive down from the villa (walkable in five minutes if you're averagely fit) are several small white coves with crystal clear water, perfect for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. The world famous Myrtos beach is a 15 minute drive along the Pylaros valley. The beautiful road to Sami runs right along the edge of the sea with more tiny coves and halfway along is Paraskevi beach with its taverna, bar & tree shaded sunbeds on the grass. AntiSamos beach with water sports is 25 minutes drive away via Sami.
Kefalonia airport (EFL) is a lovely 40 minute drive across the island. Car hire is recommended. Flights are available from many UK cities (London, Stanstead, Luton, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham etc) on most days of the week with Easy Jet, Ryan Air, Thomas Cook, Thompson etc. Car ferries run from the mainland at Patras & Kyllini & Astakos and also from the islands of Zante, Lefkas & Ithica. Car ferry connections are also available from Italy (Venice, Ancona, Brindisi and Bari) . Coaches run direct from Athens to Agia Efimia using the Patras and Kyllini ferries.
The villa is within walking distance of Agia Efimia harbour village although you may prefer to drive as it an uphill climb coming back. The pretty & unusually located harbour village of Assos with its ruined castle is 10km away and the picturesque port of Fiskardo is 29 km away. 6km away is the Melissani underground lake and 11km away are the Drogorati caves. High up in the middle of the island is the exhillarating Ainos National Park with wild horses, great views and the famous Kefalonian pines.
Agia Efimia is in the northern part of the island of Kefalonia which is quite different from the package-tour beaches of the south, and is generally preferred by the independent traveller for its unspoiled and traditional character. It also has lots to offer: in Agia Efimia itself there are waterside restaurants, bars, cafes, most with wi-fi, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, a cake shop, ice-cream cafe, souvlaki/chip shops, kiosk, beach & gift shops, a cash point, pharmacy, post-office, tourist information office, self-drive boat hire, car, scooter/quadbike and bicycle hire, scuba diving school, hotel pools with bars open to non-residents, day cruises to neighbouring beaches and the legendary island of Ithica. If you can drag yourself away from Paradise restaurant poised above its beach just minutes from the villa, or watching the boats in the harbour, the capital town of Argostoli is well worth a day trip and on the way you can visit the Robola winery for a tour, tasting & buying, maybe stopping also at the hilltop castle and restaurants at Kastro looking across to the island of Zante. Sami, 15 minutes away (and where the movie Captain Corelli was filmed) has a clinic and other medical services and ancient ruins up at the back. Ainos National Park is in the centre of the island and horse riding is available nearby. If you enjoy walking, bring your boots because there are endless footpaths to explore crossing the partly ruined old field terraces linking some very traditional small local villages and up onto the mountains where the wind turbines stand. An ouzo and souvlaki might be your thing but there are some very lovely restaurants to be found as well (see our visitors' book at the villa) - one thing you can always be sure of is that friendly Greek hospitality and relaxed sense of humour !
