Quiet, elevated, sunny, south facing position with superb sea views, close to beaches and Agia Efimia harbour village.
Villa THEA was completed in 2014 and has its own private entrance and grounds. Furnished in a fresh contemporary style it is well appointed and maintained by the owners. NEW FOR 2018 is a private pool now completed and in use.
Arriving at the private parking area, stone steps lead down through the upper garden terraces with their bourgainvilleas, lavender and fruit trees, to the villa entrance courtyard and front door.
On the ground floor is the Kitchen/Diner and the Living Room both with french-doors that lead out onto the south facing terrace with its amazing panoramic sea views (probably the best in the area). Here there is plenty of room to dine and relax in the sun or shade on comfy furniture under the parasols.
Upstairs are two identical double bedrooms both with large en-suite shower rooms, comfy beds, wardrobes and south facing balconies with sea views.
Gentle stone steps lead down from the upper terrace to the sunny lower terrace. It is here that we have created the private pool and its surrounding stone tiled patio areas with sun loungers, drinks tables and parasols as well as a charcoal barbecue and a dining table with seating for four people. The stunning 180 degree sea view and the garden setting makes this a perfect place to relax.
The lower ground floor is a semi-basement with a sofa-bed for a 5th.guest, although there is no shower room/wc here and this person would have to use one of the upstairs en-suites. A fifth person is strictly by prior arrangement with the owners and a supplement will be charged.
The villa is reached from Agia Efimia harbour along a quiet, tree lined road and pedestrian footpath with shaded seating that winds along the edge of the sea past a few houses and restaurants with steps down to very pretty white shingle/pebble coves with crystal clear water. In moments you get to a private road/track that climbs up to Villa THEA (Greek for "View") which gets its name from its stunning south facing location looking out over the bay towards the island of Ithica and Sami, with yachts, fishermen and ferry boats coming in and out. Conveniently close to the village the location however is so peaceful that you can hear the birds singing in the trees and the sheep on the hills behind.
The villa is approved by and registered with the Greek Tourism Office. - Certificate No. 0458K91000418101.
Based on seven nights minimum stay, any number of additional nights available thereafter. Stays can span across months and usually any day arrival and departure is acceptable.
Prices quoted are for the villa based on up to four people sharing. Supplement for one additional person using the sofa-bed in the lower ground floor (strictly by arrangement with the owners).
Also available is our other villa "Villa Artemis"(Owners Direct Property Ref. No. 1883192). Both villas can be rented together for larger groups/families.

We stayed at The View villa in May.It was everything we hoped for and more. From the initial enquiry to being met by Nigel and Dee on arrival, the whole booking process was made so easy for us.
The villa was beautifully clean on arrival and fresh linen and towels were provided for a change half way through our stay. There is a lap top available for use, with which you can access BBC 1 ITV etc if you feel the need.In the semi basement there is an extra fold out bed and comfy seating, also another tv and a library of DVDs and a basket with games in for those afternoons when it gets a little bit too hot to sit ouside,or you just fancy a night in.A great little den if you are travelling with children.
We chose not to hire a car as we just wanted a relaxed holiday around the villa. We walked in to Agia Effimia every night and got a taxi back up.It was 4 euros.Nigel and Dee left taxi numbers in the villa,so you really don't have to walk down the steep hill either if you don't want to,just phone for a taxi and they will come and collect you.
To summarise. We had the most chilled holiday, in the most perfect villa, with the best view ever and with the friendliest of hosts.
I'm sure, like us,you will arrive as guests but leave as a friends.
Thankyou so much Nigel and Dee
Stayed in this fabulous villa for 10 days and had the most amazing time. The villa is clean, modern and very well equipped with a great range of outdoor furniture. The views are amazing but that does come at a price - it is a very steep climb up from the road. We were aware of this and had already factored in the cost of a return taxi ride each evening as we did not hire a car. The walk to the main harbour area took about 10 minutes downhill and another 5 - 10 minutes along the flat sea front. We are in our mid 50s and managed that OK. We were always able to get a taxi from the taxi rank in the village, usually with the charming and friendly Dimitri (other taxi drivers are available). There are 3 well stocked supermarkets and plenty of decent restaurants. We were very happy with all the places we ate in although Spiros was our favourite. However, what really made our holiday were the brilliant owners, Nigel and Dee. They could not have been more friendly or helpful and in 35 years of self-catering holidays they are the best hosts we have ever encountered. Thanks Nigel and Dee for a wonderful holiday.
Beautiful Villa with amazing views
This Villa could not be more aptly named as the views are truly stunning. It's light, modern and clean and the ample outside space is perfect for sunbathing or just chilling with a drink and taking in that view.
Agia Efimia is a lovely little village and has plenty of restaurants and cafe's to enjoy.
The owners Nigel & Deanne are lovely people, helpful and kind, and do everything to make sure you enjoy your holiday.
We have just returned from the most amazing two weeks holiday on kefalonia staying at The View!!
On our arrival Nigel & Deanne were there to greet us! What lovely hosts! Nothing is too much trouble. They made us all feel straight at home as soon as we arrived.
The villa is stunning, well designed and good layout! We particularly liked it for the bedrooms being identical with en suite bathrooms, as we were travelling as two couples! So no falling out who gets the best room or view!! The views across Agia Efirmia are just breathtaking no wonder it's called the view.
You have everything you would need in the villa very well equipped and spotlessly clean.
The outside seating areas are lovely with comfy sofa and chairs and plenty of sun umbrellas. A short car ride down the quite steep road takes you to some pretty little beaches where you can swim safely.
Our 2 week holiday went far too fast because we had such a great time, will definitely be returning hopefully very soon. Thank you Nigel & Deanne
A Totally Relaxing Holiday
We wanted a 'get away from it all' holiday break and were most certainly not disappointed. What wonderful accommodation in a stunning location. We keep looking back at the photos we took and really wish we were back there again! Nigel and Deanne were the perfect hosts, giving us all the space we needed and yet with friendly advice on where to go, what to do and where to eat. We are 'foodies' and usually have the best fayre by cooking for ourselves. On this holiday, we only did that twice and that tells you something about the variety, ambience, quality and value of all the restaurants we tried and we felt we did not even scratch the surface! Great sea swimming within three minutes. Who needs a pool! We have nothing but praise for what Nigel and Deanne have done. We do not usually re-visit holiday locations. For this, we will most certainly make an exception. We will be back!
WHERE IS THE VILLA? The villa is minutes from the centre of Agia Efimia harbour village and is reached along a quiet, tree lined road and pedestrian footpath with shaded seating that winds along the edge of the sea past a few houses and restaurants. In moments you reach a private road/track that climbs up to "The View" villa which gets its name from its stunning south facing location looking out over the bay towards the island of Ithica and Sami, with yachts, fishermen and ferry boats coming in and out. Conveniently close to the village the location however is so peaceful that you can hear the birds singing in the trees and the sheep on the hills behind. NEAREST BEACHES: Two minutes drive down from the villa (walkable in five minutes if you're averagely fit) are several small white coves with crystal clear water, perfect for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. The world famous Myrtos beach is a 15 minute drive along the Pylaros valley. The beautiful road to Sami runs right along the edge of the sea with more tiny coves and halfway along is Paraskevi beach with its taverna, bar & tree shaded sunbeds on the grass. AntiSamos beach with water sports is 25 minutes drive away via Sami. GETTING HERE:: Kefalonia airport (EFL) is a lovely 40 minute drive across the island. Car hire is recommended. Flights are available from many UK cities (London, Stanstead, Luton, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham etc) on most days of the week with Easy Jet, Ryan Air, Thomas Cook, Thompson etc. Car ferries run from the mainland at Patras & Kyllini & Astakos and also from the islands of Zante, Lefkas & Ithica. Car ferry connections are also available from Italy (Venice, Ancona, Brindisi and Bari) . Coaches run direct from Athens to Agia Efimia using the Patras and Kyllini ferries. DISTANCES: The villa is within walking distance of Agia Efimia harbour village although you may prefer to drive as it an uphill climb coming back. The pretty & unusually located harbour village of Assos with its ruined castle is 10km away and the picturesque port of Fiskardo is 29 km away. 6km away is the Melissani underground lake and 11km away are the Drogorati caves. High up in the middle of the island is the exhillarating Ainos National Park with wild horses, great views and the famous Kefalonian pines. FURTHER DETAILS: Agia Efimia is in the northern part of the island of Kefalonia which is quite different from the package-tour beaches of the south, and is generally preferred by the independent traveller for its unspoiled and traditional character. It also has lots to offer: in Agia Efimia itself there are waterside restaurants, bars, cafes, most with wi-fi, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, a cake shop, ice-cream cafe, souvlaki/chip shops, kiosk, beach & gift shops, a cash point, pharmacy, post-office, tourist information office, self-drive boat hire, car, scooter/quadbike and bicycle hire, scuba diving school, hotel pools with bars open to non-residents, day cruises to neighbouring beaches and the legendary island of Ithica. If you can drag yourself away from Paradise restaurant poised above its beach just minutes from the villa, or watching the boats in the harbour, the capital town of Argostoli is well worth a day trip and on the way you can visit the Robola winery for a tour, tasting & buying, maybe stopping also at the hilltop castle and restaurants at Kastro looking across to the island of Zante. Sami, 15 minutes away (and where the movie Captain Corelli was filmed) has a clinic and other medical services and ancient ruins up at the back. Ainos National Park is in the centre of the island and horse riding is available nearby. If you enjoy walking, bring your boots because there are endless footpaths to explore crossing the partly ruined old field terraces linking some very traditional small local villages and up onto the mountains where the wind turbines stand. An ouzo and souvlaki might be your thing but there are some very lovely restaurants to be found as well (see our visitors' book at the villa) - one thing you can always be sure of is that friendly Greek hospitality and relaxed sense of humour !
