My wife and our two children live on the property. My wife and I are professionals, she is a retired business administrator and I’m a Pianist and a Professor of Piano at the Conservatory of Ferrara. Our son and
daughter,as well as managing the farm, are both University students.
Lorenzo Passigli purchased this farmhouse in 1949
I inherited this property. The vacation rentals help subsidize our Agricultural firm 'Fattoria Il Leccio' that produces top quality olive oil.
Peaceful country stay overlooking one of the most beautiful valleys in Tuscany and enjoying a refreshing swim in the pool after spending a morning or afternoon immersed in the beauty of the Renaissance that is found in Florence or other nearby towns like Siena, Pisa, Lucca and many more. As well as tasting one of the world’s top quality olive oils.
We booked this apartment last minute to use as a base for a visit to Florence and the surrounding area.
Even before we arrived our hosts were doing their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible by arranging a DVD player for us to use in the apartment even though it wasn't advertised as having one.
Nothing was too much trouble for Andrea, Lorenzo and their family. They made us extremely welcome and made sure everything was as you would expect it to be.
The farmhouse was in an excellent location about 1km from Caldine station which is just a short train ride from the central Florence railway station. This makes it a superb base for exploring Florence while at the same time having the peace of the countryside in the mornings and evenings.
The apartment was excellent, very clean and comfortable and Andrea was always attentive making sure that no problems disturbed our enjoyment of the holiday.
As other guests have mentioned Andrea is an exceptional musician and we were also lucky enough to hear him playing while we were at the property. Lorenzo too is a charming young man explaining his aspirations for the farm and giving us some of his own organic produce to sample during the stay.
Overall these apartments are run by a very welcoming and kind family. Their hospitality was a delight to experience and I wouldn't have the slightest hesitation in recommending them to others looking for a holiday in this area.
