This beautiful 19th century country home, recently restored, is part of the “ Fattoria Il Leccio” lived and owned by the Passigli family for four generations. It sits on top of a hill overlooking the Valle del Mugnone, a gorgeous valley that offers panoramic views of gently slopping hills cultivated with well-tended olive groves as well as views of the town of Fiesole and the city of Florence. Giovanni Boccaccio in his 13th Century Decameron, locates some of his stories in this valley. The large shared pool, not visible from the house and surrounded by vegetation is salt treated. Personal transportation is advised. Private car service can be provided at additional cost. A few minutes away from the house there is the Fiesole/Caldine train station, with free parking, where the train reaches the Santa Maria Novella Central Station in Florence in 12 minutes. Caldine has also buses to Florence, a supermarket as well as post office and bank. It also has doctor and ambulance service. Please contact us for further details. FROM MAY 15TH TO OCTOBER 15TH 20% DISCOUNT ON LISTED PRICES FOR ONLY 2 PEOPLE IN THE SAME BEDROOM
My wife and our two children live on the property. My wife and I are professionals, she is a retired business administrator and I’m a Pianist and a Professor of Piano at the Conservatory of Ferrara. Our son and
daughter,as well as managing the farm, are both University students.
Lorenzo Passigli purchased this farmhouse in 1949
I inherited this property. The vacation rentals help subsidize our Agricultural firm 'Fattoria Il Leccio' that produces top quality olive oil.
Peaceful country stay overlooking one of the most beautiful valleys in Tuscany and enjoying a refreshing swim in the pool after spending a morning or afternoon immersed in the beauty of the Renaissance that is found in Florence or other nearby towns like Siena, Pisa, Lucca and many more. As well as tasting one of the world’s top quality olive oils.
The Highlight of Our Trip
I don't know if I can find enough good things to say about this property and about our host, Andrea. To say that the property is beautiful is not enough. It is warm, comfortable, and located in a stunning setting on an organic olive farm. Andrea is a delightful host, warm and friendly, with a fascinating background, and always helpful. You must have a car, and be willing to tackle the narrow, steep and rough road to the house.Once you arrive, however, your efforts are more than amply rewarded. We were fortunate to be there at the start of the olive harvest, and Andrea was more than happy to show us the process and explain how the olive get to the press. (Unfortunately, we missed the press by one day.)
I am happy to second all the comments in the other reviews. When (not if!) I go back to Italy, I will definitely schedule another stay with Andrea.

I would recommend this villa to anyone! It was perfectly located to explore Florence. We able to get into Florence by train within 10 minutes travelling from the local train station at Caldine. The villa is ideal for relaxing and soaking up the sun. The views are beautiful with rolling hills and olive groves. The villa itself was well maintained and well laid out. The owner, Andrea was extremely helpful. We hired a car and had a great time exploring local towns and cultural places. There are plenty of local restaurants. Really had a great time!
