Apartments by the sea with beautiful views
We are a small family run business that specialises in holiday lettings on the island of Ciovo which is accessed by bridge. Since 2004 we have managed a variety of 3 & 4 star properties, awarded by Croatian Tourist Board, on behalf of property owners. We carefully select the apartments that we promote as they must meet our high standards and they are only 15 minutes from Split airport.
Our self catering properties sleep up to 8 people. All of our properties have balconies with sea views, wifi, air-conditioning, washing machines, fully equipped kitchens, a selection of games, CD's and DVD's and we also have apartments that offer a pool. Towels and linen are changed on a weekly basis and we have a meet and greet team that will welcome you to your apartment. There are amenities close by for grocery shopping, eating out, bars and of course, secluded bays with calm, clear blue water.
We are proud of our successful business and enjoy helping our guests plan memorable holidays. There are plenty of things to do, for all age groups, and we'd be delighted to recommend a few. It is not essential to rent a car as everything can be accessed by foot however, depending on your needs or desires you may choose one.
Split is in a region known as Dalmatia and it's a great starting point if you're interested in exploring Croatia. There are a staggering 8 UNESCO protected sites within 2 hours of Ciovo. The 2400 year old town of Trogir is on your doorstep with taxi boats leaving the local harbour every 15 minutes. The landscape is mountainous with the Adriatic Sea in the forefront and the people are friendly and very helpful.
We have carefully considered your needs in our apartments and we're always delighted to get feedback and recommendations. The McDonnell family would like to thank you for your interest and we wish you a happy holiday.
The apartments are all a 15 minute drive from Split airport. 3 minute walk to a beautiful secluded beach which also has a little cafe bar and crepe cafe. We have 2, 3 and 4 bedroom penthouses available for rental. All have large living/dining areas, fully fitted kitchens with microwave, full cooker, fridge freezer & washing machine. Each apartment features a CD player, DVD and Digital TV. Fresh bed linen and towels are supplied and included in the cost. There is a small market just 1 minute from the apartment which is handy for getting any essentials you need.
The supermarket and main village is a 10 minute walk. There are water sports and activities all along the beach. Tennis club and courts are a 3 minute walk. Hotel Villa Katarina is minutes away and has a very good restaurant catering all day, ideal for lunch and dinner - they have a gorgeous green lasagne - try it. Trogir is 5 minutes away by car. Trogir is a medieval town protected by UNESCO with over 100 restaurants and bars and a beautiful port with entertainment & cocktail bars. Penthouse Christina is another apartment we have with a pool can be viewed at the link below availability.
Welcome Pack and Entertainment Area: The entertainment area consists of a DVD and CD player. We also have Satellite TV at all the accommodations. A welcome pack is provided for guests to use to make you familiar with Ciovo/Trogir. The pack includes details on the area, sites to see and recommendations of many restaurants and bars in Trogir and Ciovo - we send this by email also prior to arrival. Important telephone numbers are listed and the pack includes maps of the surrounding area. Also a wide selection of cd's are available to use throughout your stay. An extensive list of artists are included that we think you will enjoy. We also have a variety of games at each penthouse - poker chip and card set, chess board, draughts board and jenja.
Tourist Attractions: Some of the tourist attraction include Krka Park – 72 Km of the Krka river and lakes which has wonderful waterfalls. Approx 55 minutes by car from the apartment heading towards Sibenik. And a must see. Don't forget your swimming togs - you get swim at the lakes and it's glorious!
Trogir – Is a jewel of a walled town with a wide waterfront promenade that encloses a maze of medieval streets.Places of interest include Cathedral of St Lovro and Church of St. John the Baptist. 15th century town.

These properties are situated on the top (3rd floor) and accessed by steps - totally worth it for the stunning view. The majority of properties on Ciovo and in the area don't reach more than 3 floors - thankfully. There is no lift in the majority of buildings on Ciovo. If you think you might be concerned about them I do manage other properties on the 1st floor - let me know if you have any questions.

Perfectly situated in beautiful location
The apartment is situated in such a peaceful part of Okrug Gornji with stunning views from the balcony. The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Alison was extremely helpful before and during our stay and gave great advice on places to visit, restaurants etc. We went to several local beaches our favourites being in Okrug Donji and our local beach just down the road. We caught the ferry from Trogir harbour and went to Drvenik Veli and explored the Blue Lagoon which is fabulous for swimming and snorkelling. Sibenik was very pretty and we had lunch at the monastery garden restaurant which is such a perfect setting. We recommend the family run vineyard of Vina Rak, just outside of Sibenik, where we were shown how the wine is made, looked round the distillery etc, had wine tasting and bought some delicious wines! Trogir is a beautiful old town, take the water taxi its a lovely trip and saves driving. Seek out Monika restaurant in Trogir its delicious and the lunch menu very good. For local food try Leonardos, the staff are so friendly and the food is superb. We bought some lovely fresh fish, fruit and vegetables from the market in Trogir too. We visited Krka National Park which is a must see, its absolutely stunning and one ticket will get you in at all entry locations in a day. Split old town is worth a visit to see the Diocletians Palace and browse the market stalls. All in all a wonderful two weeks and we can't wait to return again. Thanks Alison.
A heartfelt thanks to our guests Sally and Kim for their review, we really appreciate it. We're always delighted to have returning guests, it can be nice to come back to a familiar place and know what to expect. We're looking forward to welcoming them back. We're also dying to try our vineyard - thanks for the tip. - Alison x
Dream Holiday - Excellent Apartment & Location
We are just back from a fantastic week on Ciovo island. Penthouse Paulina is a beautiful apartment with the most stunning view of the sea. The beach is minutes away and all amenities are close by. We ate in Leonardos on many occasions as per Alison's suggestion - it has an extensive menu which kept everyone happy including the kids :)
We visited Krka park and we all did the Quad Biking, which was loads of fun. Krka was a dream and I could have stayed longer - very peaceful and quite literally took my breath away.
Thanks Alison for a great stay - we will be returning in the future.

Croatia is stunning, great location and apartment
We had a great time in the penthouse apartment. The photos don't do it justice. It's a great location, quiet, yet a 5 minute walk to the main beach at Okrug, with its many beach bars and restuarants. Watching the sunset over the bay from the Terrace, with the smells of early evening cooking wafting in the air, and the sounds of the distant beach, was idyllic. You can see the local beach from the terrace, which is a two minute stroll down from the apartment. The welcome pack and advice on local restuarants were a nice touch and on the button. We tried The End in Trogir (try the grilled sea wolf !), and both Villa Katerina and Mali Raj (mixed grill for two is divine) in Okrug. All were superb.
I would love to return soon, and would definitely return to the apartment. The boat from Okrug takes 20 minutes and is a far better way to travel in, very picturesque as you arrive in Trogir. There were lots of great day trip options. We did Krka falls which are incredible, and also hired a boat for a day (70euros) and swam in secluded bays, stopping off at beach bars and restaurants around the island. It felt like paradise. Split was a great day out and a 30 minute boat trip away(2 euros) from satine on the other side of the island.
We'll be back - thanks Alison

Good location in need of modernization
From the first contact attempt, Alison has been ever so quick to respond and answer any question we have had.
The location of the apartment was 5 minutes’ walk to the beach (once you identify the most direct routes) and there are a couple of restaurants just down the road. The other restaurants were not too far to walk to (even with a 5 year old), again, after you are familiar enough with the 3 optional roads.
The air condition system in the living room kept the apartment, including the 2 bedrooms, well cooled.
The supermarket just down the road was handy for grabbing water / milk / beer etc. (and it does take credit cards, which is NOT obvious, as we have found out quite quickly).
Kitchen was equipped for cooking and eating in, which we did do on a couple of nights.
Washing machine was also useful for washing beach towels.
The not so good:
While the apartment is comfortable, we felt it could really use some TLC and update.
The shower is very small and creaky, with exposed wires seen from the ceiling of the bathroom.
The kitchen sink tap was so loose it could only be used with 2 hands, one holding the faucet and the other moving the tap.
While we appreciate this is a self-catering apartment, we found the lack of cleaning equipment (even a j-cloth and bin bags) a bit remiss - as it should be in the interest of the owner / managing company to keep the place clean. Arriving by plane means we are limited, as it is, with the amount of luggage we can carry. Spending 10 days in the apartment (with a young child) meant we did want to do some cleaning every now and again. However, it was expected for us to take care of purchasing cleaning materials; fine if you are staying a month or two but not really for a short stay. This is something that we have been provided with on every other holiday apartment rental we have had.
The TV in the apartment was really quite out of date and lacked an HDMI port to connect any of our own devices (ie a tablet). The satellite box does not broadcast any English channels as far as we managed to see so we simply so we did not use the TV.
The welcome manual really needs an update - we were looking to hire a car and the info in it contains information from 2007... so it has been a while since it has been put together. There was a distinct lack of information about practical issues such as which bins to use, how to recycle or return bottles, how to use the TV system, etc.
Thanks to our guest for the review and we are delighted to hear you had a great holiday.
Our properties are self catering. But we do provide j cloths, sponges, wash brushes, washing liquid and detol spray. As well as fresh linen and bath towels. There is hand wash in the bathrooms. If you need anything there is a small market just 1 minute away and has all you may need for great value.
We have upgraded our TVs and the welcome pack. Some of the info in the welcome pack is still relevant from years ago ie. police numbers, hospital, car hire companies. We also send some detailed info to all our by email prior to arrival - all relevant and our guests welcome it as it provides all practical info you need. We are always just a text or call away should you need any advice.

Wonderful holiday in fabulous apartment
We have had another fabulous two weeks on Ciovo in this wonderful, perfectly situated spacious apartment overlooking the sea. It was great to visit all the familiar places we love, like the market in Trogir, local restaurants, beaches etc. This year we spent a couple of days on Brac to explore the Island, we took the car ferry from Split which is easy and rented an apartment in Sutivan. Brac is beautiful and there are lots of lovely villages, harbours and bays to explore. Bol was very pretty but quite busy on the beach. Marina beach just up from Trogir along the coast is well worth a visit the water is clear and good for snorkeling. We visited Krka Park again but this time took the boat from Skradin to the water falls then drove to Roski Slap and walked up the 616 steps to the cave and top, hard work but well worth it! We drove to Omis and hired kayaks at Omis Adventure on the river, the scenery is stunning along the river with impressive gorges and lots of wildlife. We had some delicious meals, we dined at TRS in Trogir the food was amazing. The local restaurants in Okrug Gornji are great, Leonardos is lovely and we highly recommend SrDela, the food is delicious and the staff so friendly. Many thanks again to Alison for her lovely warm welcome and all the help and information she gave us to make our holiday one of our best yet. See you next year!!
Thanks to Sally and Kim for this detailed review. We love that our we have some guests that have come back year on year. We hope to see them again :)
Lovely apartment, we had a fantastic stay
This is a really attractive apartment with a beautiful view and lots of lovely original art on the walls. The balcony is HUGE!
The apartment was clean and well-kept with a good bathroom and nice powerful shower. The wifi signal was excellent too.
There were lots of nice touches, like books and dvd's and plenty of utensils.
The apartment is only 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach, which is very picturesque and unspoiled. (It's stony, rather than sandy, so bring crocs/rubber shoes)
The manager went out of her way to be helpful, organising our taxis to and from the airport and gave great recommendations for restaurants, shops and beaches.
I would highly recommend this apartment to families, couples and groups.
We always love to hear from guests as it helps us improve our offering and there is usually some advice from our guests that help inform new tourists to the area. We might be biased but after 14 years of coming here and still loving it speaks volumes.
The Island of Ciovo is attached by bridge to Trogir (medieval town over 2400 years old). The apartments/holiday homes are an ideal accommodation for your holiday in Croatia. UNESCO recognized its values and included it in the registry of the world monument heritage. Mediterranean climate. Trogir is a jewel of a walled town with a wide waterfront promenade that encloses a maze of medieval streets. Summer Music festivals with classical and folk concerts in churches and open squares. Places of interest include: Krka National Park - Wonderful waterfalls and lakes. Islands of Brac and Hvar both accessible from Ciovo. Shopping in Split. Visit the Diocletian's Palace in Split.
