Trewartha Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall, England - Sleeps 4 people, ideal location just steps from the town centre and beaches

Trewartha is perfect for a family holiday or a break away for couples, and well behaved dogs are welcome to stay too so they can also enjoy the fantastic walks on the beaches and the coastal paths (and being with you of course!). Most of the attractions in St.Ives such as the harbour, Tate Gallery and the beaches are just a few minutes walk. The kitchen is well equipped for your comfort, although there are so many wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs in St.Ives you probably won't want to cook. The cottage has 2 bedrooms (1 double,1 twin) each with its own washbasin.

I used to visit my grandmother in St Ives when I was young, and now I have my own house here! I am married with 4 children and we all love spending time in St.Ives

Why Sarah Bennett chose St Ives area

St Ives is a magical place and so beautiful. I'm not very keen on the seagulls trying to steal my ice-creams but on sunny days I do love to sit on the rocks near the cottage watching out for the porpoises, dolphins and seals that sometimes pass by.

I stayed here with some gal pals for a relaxing holiday last summer and I'm hoping to stay at this great, traditional cottage again this year. The location is just perfect and the cottage is roomy enough for four and lovely and bright and airy. I was a bit concerned about previous guests having pets because I can be a bit allergic - however, the cottage was clean and smelled fresh and not at all 'doggy'!! St Ives is a wonderful, magical place - and there's little can beat a quiet drink outside The Sloop before dining at one of the many very local restaurants (I particularly like the Mermaid and Blas Burger).

You will need to bring your own towels, although I can arrange for towel hire if you prefer. Please ask me for details.

Cute and comfortable cottage, in the heart of everything St Ives has to offer....

Trewartha is a relaxed and comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a lovely stay. Just a couple of minutes from three different beaches, close to art galleries, cafes, restaurants, shops, and coastal walks, it provided the perfect place for our small family to explore from. We have fallen in love with St Ives and will be back!

Ideal for our purpose and in an ideal location.

We loved our time in St Ives, and felt that Trewartha was ideal for us. It was so easy to reach anywhere in town, yet it is in a really quiet and sheltered area. There is so much to do and see in St Ives, as well as such wonderful beaches, the variety of options was a real plus.

Trewartha is a wonderfully cosy cottage that was spotlessly clean with everything you'll ever need for a visit at any time of the year. The bonus being, that its a minutes walk to the heart of St Ives. Contact with Sarah the owner made the whole process simple.We cant wait to return.

Wow, what a great location and lovely cottage.

We went for a long weekend for my wife's birthday, purely because we love St. Ives and there is nowhere we'd rather be. We have been to 14 different properties in St.Ives over the years and this is the loveliest location of them all. Literally around the corner from two beaches and very close to the town itself and for a change, in a flat/level area. The property is extremely nice, well cared for and beautifully clean. The worst part of the break was having to come back home.

Fabulous location, cosy and comfy cottage

The cottage was scrupulously clean on arrival. Loved that it had everything we needed, yet was uncluttered. Very comfy bed

The location is fabulous - a two minute walk to the beach, town and pub.

Would recommend 'Olives' which is just around the corner.

Totally relaxing stay at Trewartha, hope to return soon.

Cosy, well equipped and brilliantly located

We have just returned from a week's holiday at Trewartha. The cottage is in a quiet street very close to both Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. It was perfect for us (two adults and two adult sized teenage boys), and my impression on arriving was that the cottage was bigger than the photographs suggest. It is cosy and cute, and really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Sarah, the owner, provided us with excellent directions to the cottage and information on car parking, as well as comprehensive information on local amenities, restaurants etc. We would highly recommend it, and we will definitely be returning to St Ives next year. The teenagers voted St Ives better than Greece or France for a holiday, even despite changeable weather!

Map

Coast/Beach:

There are several beautiful sandy beaches within walking distance of the house. The nearest ones are less than a minute's walk. At Porthwidden and the Harbour beach you can sometimes see seals and dolphins close to the shore. Porthmeor Beach is famous for its excellent surfing and is about 3 minutes walk from the house. Bamaluz Beach is also just round the corner and is the only St Ives beach that allows dogs all year round

Travel:

It is not essential to have a car in St Ives as there is so much to do locally. There is also an excellent train service running from the top of town, just 15 minutes walk from the cottage, and regular coach trips to a variety of landmarks in the surrounding area. If you bring a car there is parking just 100 yards away in the Island Car Park. The nearest airport is Newquay, which is about 50 minutes drive from St.Ives

Distances:

Although there are numerous things to see and do in St Ives itself, there are also many attractions within an hour's drive of the cottage. These include the Eden Project, St.Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre (built into the cliffs), Lands End, Paradise Park (always a favourite of mine!) and The Seal Sanctuary.

Changeover day is on a Saturday. You can check in any time after 3pm. On the day of departure check out is by 10am. We do offer short breaks out of season, and changeover details for these are flexible. Please ask
