Delightful comfortable cottage for our end of January long weekend. Bramblewick is probably one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Very comprehensive guest information and helpful additions like torches in every bedside cabinet. Very cosy with logburner going. Lovely to watch sheep in field opposite -watching us!
Our decision to return to Bramblewick was 'rubber stamped' when on our last morning we were lucky enough to see two barn owls hunting in the field outside the kitchen window just as daylight was breaking. An unexpected treat.
Must also mention Harry s fish and chip shop in Masham - delicious. Also The White Bear also in Masham , lovely meal.
Relaxing tranquility in delightful Bramblewick
This is as near perfect as a cottage stay could be. From the generous and thoughtful welcome pack to the cosy woodburner, I cannot commend Bramblewick too highly. The village boasts a tremendously friendly local pub with good beer and food that is a short stroll under clear starlit skies (you will find torches in the cottage leat you forgot to pack) and is handily placed for exploring attractions such as Forbidden Corner and The Himalayan Garden at Grewelthorpe.
A fabulous cottage in a beautiful part of the world.
Beautiful cottage, well equipped and very comfortable. We would definitely make a return visit, a lot more to see, and would recommend it to others.
Lovely, welcoming cottage with everything you need in tranquil locaction
Lovely weeks stay in Bramblewick Cottage. Great location, very tranquil with local pub nearby. Everything you need in cottage including the little extras which you sometimes forget to pack for a week away. An ideal escape!
Perfect break at Bramblewick
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Perfect for a relaxing break with lots of varied walks and sights to see and of course great beer to finish the day.
Cottage had all facilities expected and more , ideal base and place to relax.
Charming cottage in beautiful part of the country
Lovely cottage, very well-maintained and stocked with everything you need for your stay- a real home from home. Comfortable and clean. Lovely shower in the ensuite (and another downstairs). Well-kept garden which gets the sun for most of the day and looks out onto fields enabling bird-watching and rabbit-watching! Lots of information in the cottage about the area and things to do, including OS maps and guide books. The owners, Alison & David, are very helpful and obviously concerned that you enjoy your stay.
Lots to do in the area within a short distance including walking, visiting ruined abbeys and gardens and picturesque villages. The Black Swan is an excellent pub just up the road serving very good food - we ate there 5 times within 1 week!
Would definitely recommend this cottage to friends, in fact we're considering another visit in autumn if it's available.

Many walks and cycle rides can be enjoyed from the front door of the cottage, and a short drive will take you into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where the varied natural delights of Wensleydale beckon. The village pub is only yards from the cottage, and serves locally-brewed real ales and delicious home cooked meals. The delightful market town of Masham is a mere mile and a half away, and can easily be reached on local footpaths. As well as boasting two breweries, both with visitor centres, and many local shops, Masham hosts an annual Steam Rally in July, and a Sheep Fair in September.
