Lovely cottage with great amenities, beautiful local area, would highly recommend staying here!
This lovely cottage is kitted out perfectly for two guests and is a lovely place from which to relax and enjoy the local countryside!
Trudie is an excellent host and her communication on the run up to the trip was very helpful.
The local area is beautiful, we particularly enjoyed a walk round Chatsworth House and Gardens in the spectacular sunshine.
Would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends looking to stay in the Peak District.
A short drive away for dinner we found the Tickled Trout restaurant which was fantastic and well worth a visit too. More locally the Bulls Head was good for a drink in the beer garden and a quick meal.
A happy and memorable stay in a charming village.
The cottage was excellent. It was exceptionally well presented and equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable and homely stay. Good off-road parking. The cottage is in a nice central position in the village with easy access to the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Wonderful, cosy stay
The cottage is beautifully finished inside, and extremely cosy and comfortable. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Perfect distance to drive into the Peak District for walking and plenty of amenities nearby. Trudie was very helpful and responsive before and throughout our stay. The perfect little break! Would definitely recommend.
Everything was spotlessly clean, well organised and welcoming. A delightful place to say, very comfortable and relaxing. We look forward to returning
A truly charming cottage
We were over in the Peaks for an ultra marathon and we're looking for somewhere close by to stay. We stumbled upon the 'old shop cottage' on the internet by accident.
The photos certainly didnt do this little gem justice. It was cosy, but very comfortable. It was very clean, tidy and felt so homely. The charm and character of the place really made the weekend.
Oh and after running for 6 six hours the bed was a dream.
Location was fantastic, close to Chesterfield but right next to the Peaks and Chatsworth House.
Check in and check was made easy by the owners, who were themselves very friendly and helpful.
Overall a fantastic little cottage ideal for exploring the Peak District and the surrounding area. If your looking for somewhere with a charm of its own, but with the comforts of an expensive hotel, then I'd highly recommend this beautiful cottage.
lovely cottage- well appointed and tastefully decorated. Enjoyed my stay.
