A Great Find

  • 4 of 5

The property was finished to a very high standard a great setting, really a great find, only negative comment a touch expensive but otherwise couldn't fault it the owner was handy friendly and ready to help.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed you stay . I agree with you that the recent addition of service fees by owners direct has increased the cost of all properties advertised on this website My fees have not increased in 4 years. I also pay a charge for you to have the convenience of paying by credit card. The additional service cost incurred by yourself goes to owners direct,( along with my annual subscription) this is made clear at the time of booking. Kind regards Trudie

Such a beautiful place, perfect mix of cosy yet spacious.

  • 5 of 5

Would highly recommend this to all. Me & my boyfriend stayed for 2 lovely nights. The pictures do not do this place justice (there is a new couch as well!) It had everything we needed, some great personal touches, you can tell this place means a lot to someone & is well loved, it is absolutely spotless too. Loved that you can see 2 great pubs from the windows too! Would recommend both, all staff & locals super friendly. Great place to get away & recharge. We travelled from Manchester & it was also such a beautiful drive over x

Pleasant, but a more personal touch needed

  • 3 of 5

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, which made our weekend stay very pleasant.

The addition of a microwave in the kitchen would be a positive addition, but other than that, we found it well-equipped.

Although there was a message of greeting for us when we arrived, which was appreciated, we did not see the owner at any point during our stay. I think a face to face meeting is important and something that we have always been used to.

Owner's Response: Hello Martin and Liz I'm sorry to hear that. I pride myself in offering a welcoming environment for my guests, with tea/ coffee /milk and fresh flowers from my garden .Living so close to the cottage we do often meet with our guests. My regular guests keep coming back for that very reason. As I am also a teacher I am often at work when my guests arrive on a weekday. It's a balance I'm sure you'll agree between giving people the space and privacy that they have come away for, while being available at the same time. I think on this occasion you caught us on a family focused weekend- my daughters18th birthday, which we would obviously make our priority. I hope you enjoyed your concert Trudie

Perfect weekend break away!

  • 5 of 5

Immaculate property with everything you need for a break away. Spotlessly clean. Two pubs within walking distance, one serving good food. Just a pity about the weather!! Would definitely return, ideal for visiting Chatsworth, Bakewell and Matlock.
