About Elizabeth Driscoll
We live in Surrey with our two children and have been visiting our parents holiday home in Cornwall for the past ten years. When they sold their property we decided that we loved Cornwall so much that we would take the plunge and buy our own place. Having spent time in St Agnes previously and because of the great beach and vibrant village community, we knew that this was where we wanted our second home to be.
Elizabeth Driscoll purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Elizabeth Driscoll chose Saint Agnes
It's so easy to get to St Agnes - just a ten minute drive from the A30 and no tiny lanes or tractors or car sickness to contend with! Once we are here, the convenience of being able to walk to the beach and local amenities, give us the option of parking the car when we arrive and not using it again until it's time to head home. When we do venture further afield, we love to walk along the miles of coastal paths or visit the beaches at Chapel Porth and Perranporth. We are also fond of the South Coast of Cornwall and are fortunate to be less than an hours drive away from lovely coastal villages such as St Mawes and Portscatho.
What makes this Cottage unique
Of course, we love our house as much as we love the location. It has everything we need for a relaxing time away - a well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge, comfy beds and a big garage for storing bikes, body boards, buckets and spades and walking boots. For us, this means that packing to come here is just a case of throwing a few things in a bag and hitting the road. We love it and we hope that you will enjoy sharing it with us.

Sports & Adventure Activities
An extremely well-equipped, stylish property close to the heart of St. Agnes.
The property has been refurbished to a high standard and is extremely well presented.
Of particular note is the modern kitchen and high spec shower room off. There is also a bathroom, with bath, on the second floor.
The large garage is very good for storage (surfboards, prams, pushchairs etc.) and there are many beach related things available for tenants use - including even a rucksack! The washing and drying facilities within the garage (from which there is an internal door from the hall) are second to none.
I cannot think of anything one could need that is not provided including little touches such as plastic bowls etc. for children, comprehensive kitchen equipment, games and a splendid array of books.
The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage and this property is suitable for couples and families, with or without children. However, in the case of young children or toddlers, care needs to be taken with the property having two staircases although the stairs are well enclosed.
There is no outside space but given that the property is within a hundred yards of restaurants and other eating establishments - and within easy walking distance of St. Agnes itself - this is not a problem.
All in all, we had a very comfortable stay in a lovely interesting, quirky property that I would not hesitate to recommend.
Comfy, cosy, well positioned for amenities
Lovely comfy property well suited for both trevaunance cove & the village shops etc. Nice community feel to St Agnes. Would recommend the old cornstore though it's pricey
A wonderful cottage with character and modern kitchen and bathrooms. We loved it. The garage space on the ground floor was perfect for boards, wet suits, and my bike. Thoroughly recommended.
Lovely property and excellent location
Really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean with excellent facilities. Good communication with owner. St Agnes is really pretty and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. There's everything you need within walking distance of the property - beaches, coastal paths, lovely restaurants, shops, pubs, takeaways. Would definitely recommend.
We loved our stay at the Old Cornstore.
It is clean, comfortable, well equipped and practical.
After trips to the beach it was great to return to the cottage, leave boards and wetsuits in the garage, have a hot shower and relax in the cosy living room (with excellent wifi and AV setup).
The kitchen has everything you need to self cater and there are shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways all within walking distance - the owners provided a comprehensive and helpful welcome pack with great recommendations.
Perfect holiday home in perfect location
We have just returned from a week in St Agnes and were very pleased with the location and presentation of the cottage. In the heart of the village and a short walk away to lovely cafes, bistros and pubs offering fabulous food. It is only a short walk down - longer walk back up, to the cove. Lifeguards on duty, toilets and again lovely cafe and bistro. Beautiful beaches within easy reach, by car, or along the coast path. Small places like Chapel Porth or the more bustling Perranporth. Within easy reach of either coastline , not forgetting the Eden project, and many National Trust properties. Only one very minor observation. Not a problem for us, but perhaps for older guests. The lounge and master bedroom is on the first floor . Kitchen downstairs and the excellent modern bathrooms are on the upper and ground floors. Enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again and recommend.
Trevaunance Cove is a 10 minute walk from the cottage (15 minutes on the way back as the road slopes gently upwards!) and is home to a bistro, pub, fish and chip shop & craft gallery. The Cove is renowned for its sandy beach, rock pools and surfing and provides access to the SW Coast Path. St Agnes is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has a rich mining history and is a thriving and bustling community. The village itself boasts several pubs & restaurants (3 of which are an easy 2 min walk from our cottage), the award winning Cornish Pizza Company and 2 fish & chip shops. There are many independently owned shops including a bakery, butcher, grocer, coffee shop and newsagent, as well as a post office and 2 convenience stores.
There are lots of activities available locally. The local surf school is located right on the beach at Trevaunance Cove. Perranporth also has a surf school and it's wide sandy beach & excellent waves make it perfect for beginners and experienced surfers alike. The South West Coast Path is right on the doorstep where you will find miles and miles of glorious coast line leading to mining heritage sites and hidden beaches and providing spectacular views out to sea. We are also only a few miles from the coast to coast cycle trail which is suitable for all levels of cyclists. The trail runs for 11 miles from Portreath to Devoran & follows purpose built cycle paths and quiet country lanes. For the keener cyclist, there are many more challenging routes nearby.
There are an abundance of other activities available nearby including horse riding, coasteering and kayaking. There is also a superb indoor skate board park in nearby Mount Hawke.
A car is beneficial to explore wider areas of Cornwall but is not essential as all amenities are within walking distance and there are good bus services to Truro and Perranporth. The huge sandy beach at Perranporth & the gorgeous NT beach at Chapel Porth are less than a 10 minute drive along the coast and further afield are the popular seaside resorts of Newquay and St Ives. By car, St Agnes is 10 minutes from the A30, 40 minutes from Newquay Airport and 20 minutes from Truro train station. Keen walkers & cyclists will find plenty of areas to explore without the use of a car.
Other places to visit: Truro 9 miles, Newquay 12 miles, Falmouth 15 miles, St Mawes 18 miles, St Ives 22 miles, Gardens of Heligan 22 miles, Eden project 25 miles, Lands End 28 miles.
