Beautiful cottage in a ideal location

  • 5 of 5

Stable cottage is a beautiful, well equipped and well looked after cottage in a picturesque location, with walks right from the doorstep.

We stayed here with our two young boys and had a lovely stay over the easter weekend, the garden was perfect for a hunt.

Lots to do and easy to get to places if you don’t fancy walking.

We had a lovely break

Very comfortable, dog friendly cottage. Clean, well laid out and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well laid out cottage and clean and cosy too. Lovely garden but not secure for our adventurous dogs as walls are mostly low. A long line was useful. Fabulous area for walking and exploring The Peaks and Chatsworth House. The latter we visited in the snow and enjoyed seeing the deer in the grounds. There is a very friendly tea shop in the village of Ashford too. Packhorse Inn nearby had great food, very friendly and dogs welcome.

Owner's Response: The countryside has been stunning in the snow fabulous for the walks. We don't have a problem with dogs getting out from the cottage into our garden at all but didn't get to meet your adventures dogs hope they enjoyed the country walks. I am really happy you enjoyed your winter stay with us thank you.

We had a lovely time at this cottage.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't that good so we didn't get the chance to enjoy the garden.

Great area for walking !

A great weekend get away

  • 5 of 5

Stable Cottage is a real delight! The cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and had everything we needed. We arrived Friday evening and luckily, the weather was nice enough for us to sit out in the beautifully landscaped garden. There was no need to use the car as there were plenty of walks from the doorstep (with Monsall Head just a 10 minute walk away).

The owners were very accommodating when we needed to change our plans and take both dogs instead of one, the garden is fully enclosed so safe to let the dogs out on their own.

The cottage is situated just outside Ashford in the Water which is a lovely village and worth a visit. Would also recommend eating at The Packhorse Inn at Little Longstone, superb menu and great service.

Would highly recommend and hope to return in the near future.

  • 5 of 5

On the edge of the beautiful village of Ashton on the Water and less than 3/4 mile from Monsal Head the property is perfect for a walking trip. The house itself was stunning clean and well equipped. A really well converted stable. The house file pointed us to some beautiful walk and George thanks for sending us to The Manners in Bakewell great lunch.
