Conservatory overlooking garden and paddocks with private garden area.

About Hugh Wilson

The owners are Yvonne and Hugh Wilson who live on site and available for any enquiries or assistance. Both now happily retired moved to Pembrokeshire seeking the tranquility and beautiful coastlines and countryside which Pembrokeshire provides.

Why Hugh Wilson chose Pembrokeshire

We sought a property in the country but at the same time not too remote. Our decision to move to Wales from Dorset was based on bringing Yvonne back to her birth roots and also to provide an annex home for her Mother who is now 96 and very, very Welsh despite the fact that she lived in Hertfordshire from soon after 1945 until 2005.

Dovecote Barn is on the site of the property and was historically the Cow Barn. It was converted some years ago but has now undergone a complete makeover from top to bottom to provide a comfortable and hopefully a home from home atmosphere for our future guests. The addition of a conservatory in 2013 allows our guests a secluded room where they can enjoy maybe a glass of wine and see the night stars in all their glory as ground light is near zero !

What makes this barn unique

It is our objective that you leave us more relaxed than when you arrive, if we achieve this then we have succeeded.

The convenient location to Narberth, the Pembrokeshire coastal walks and Preseli National Park all make for a varied choice for the holidaymaker. If young children need entertaining then there is no shortage of attractions in the area all within easy reach.

The owners property is fenced off from Dovescote Cottage keeping the owners dogs away from visitors, thus anyone nervous of dogs should have no concerns. We have numerous enquiries from owners of nervous dogs who seek refuge on Bonfire Night away from firework noise. We are in a very peaceful area and seldom if ever hear a firework.

Cosy, comfy and peaceful

Dovescote Cottage is a perfect base for a relaxing break. The cottage is really comfortable, the bedding is immaculate and the beds are so comfy you wouldn't want to get up in the morning if it wasn't for such an enchanting area to visit. We had a lovely roaring log fire every night so the heating was turned down to a minimum, the cottage is really warm and there's always hot water on tap. I'd like to say it's a home away from home but my home just doesn't have the location😪򚠮 Hugh and Yvonne are excellent hosts and made us feel really welcome.

A very warm welcome.

Really enjoyed our stay at Dovescote cottage. It was welll equipped and comfortable, warm and cosy with woodburner lit in the evening and has a fabulous garden for the dog. The property was very clean and immaculate on arrival and directions were spot on. The owners Yvonne and Hugh gave a lovely warm welcome on arrival and were helpful with places to visit and walks with the dog. Definitely recommend this cottage and we will be going back.

Clean, comfortable & well equipped cottage

We found Hugh and Yvonne to be very welcoming. Their rental cottage was very clean and comfortable and ideally located for visiting Pembrokeshire.

The local town of Narbeth was very pleasant with a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. We enjoyed several coastal walks with Barafundle Bay being one of the best we did. We particularly enjoyed the walk from Saundersfoot to Wisemans Bridge where we walked along the beach at low tide and then returned on the path.The highlight of our holiday though was a 2 hr boat trip to Skomer and Ramsey Island to see the Puffins and other sea birds and wildlife. We booked our trip with Blue Ocean Adventures from St Davids and the experience exceeded our expectations. The weather was kind to us and that made for a very enjoyable holiday. I would thoroughly recommend Dovecote Cottage and I am sure that we will return again.

Fabulous holiday!

We have just returned from our first stay at Dovecote Cottage and I sincerely hope it won't be the last. It's a really lovely place in beautiful surroundings with everything you need on hand. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and we had a thoroughly delightful week. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it - definitely one of the best places we've ever stayed in!😀

Comfortable and well equipped

A lovely place to stay. Very well equipped with everything you need. Fantastic selection of films for a wet day and brilliant sized TV. Good location, easy access to Tenby and surrounding area. Hosts very welcoming and made us feel at home, Many thanks for doing some washing for us!! We hope to return next year.

Many attractions including Folly Farm, water parks, golf courses and coastal towns are all within 30 minutes of the property.

PETS: We do accept one well behaved pet but as the gardens and paddocks are extensive (6 Acres) we cannot guarantee a secure perimeter. There is no charge for one pet. Please advise when booking if a pet will be accompanying you.
