Villa in Flayosc, Nr. Draguignan, Var, Provence, - Peaceful Location 15 Minutes Walk To Lovely Provencal village

This lovely 4 bedroom 3 bathroom villa is situated a mere 15 minutes walk from the lively Provençal village of Flayosc, a traditional hilltop village known as the gateway to the Haut Var. The villa, which is fully air conditioned and has its own pool, is private and spacious offering comfortable open plan ground floor living accommodation. Two bedrooms and shower rooms are at ground floor level offering ideal accommodation for those with limited mobility. The gardens are planted with mature shrubs and small trees offering shade and privacy. There is a boules area at the side of the house and a set of boules is provided along with some other outdoor toys. Flayosc is ideally situated only 30 minutes from the A8 autoroute, about 1 hour's drive from Nice and halfway between the Mediterranean and the Gorges du Verdon. There is much to do here - walking in the countryside through vineyards and olive groves; sampling the local wines (lots of good domaines around Lorgues and Les Arcs). The former railway track is ideal for cycling and walking and is now section 8 of the EuroVelo track which will eventually allow cycling from southern Spain around the Mediterranean basin to Greece.

Outside: The delightful mature gardens are all on one level offering accessibility to small children and people of limited mobility. There is a charcoal barbecue, outdooor tables with seating for up to 8 people and loungers. There are south facing terraces to the dining area and the sitting room both offering shade for the height of the summer (awning for the dining area and covered pergola for the sitting room terrace). The swimming pool, with security fencing, is 8 x 4m and is for the exclusive use of the villa. There is a boule pitch for that essential game of boules and a set of boules is provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (including pool towels) and one set of linen are provided and the property is cleaned before the arrival of guests. Additional cleaning or linen during the holiday can be made available at an additional cost payable on site. Other: The living areas are air conditioned and open plan. There is a conservatory style entrance to the house ideal for storage.

A beautiful villa in a beautiful area.

La Belugue is a lovely villa with everything you need ( and lots more beside). Our family spent a week there and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The beds and furnishings were very comfortable and there is an excellent air-conditioning system if needed.I don't think the description mentions the balcony outside the first floor bedroom from where there is a lovely view.

The pool was especially welcoming after a long day out sight-seeing.

The area is beautiful with loads of lovely places to visit.A week wasn't long enough - next time we hope to stay longer !

Judith met us on arrival and was very helpful showing us around the property, telling us to get in touch with her if we had any problems but we had none.

All in all we had a lovely holiday and will certainly recommend La Belugue to our friends.

Nice location, well equipped, comfortable cottage

We stayed a week in this comfortable cottage in Flayosc. Quiet location but easily walking distance into the village which has a small but perfectly adequate range of shops, couple of the essential bakeries, small village square with a couple of restaurants. The accommodation was clean and the kitchen well equipped. Wifi and english digital TV were a great advantage. Pool is a good size but there are quite a lot of large ants around which find themselves joining you in the pool - so kids were useful to clean it out on a regular basis. Lots of places to eat outside the property - the shade was welcome as it was really hot the week we were there. We went to St Tropez on the boat from Port Grimaud (which is a lovely place) - took about an hour to get there but worth the drive. Beware the windy roads and go to Tourtour - absolutely beautiful. Salernes market on a Sunday is a must - a real French market - not that many tourists with some fabulous food on offer rather than lots of dodgy handbags. We didn't eat out while we were there but the recommendations in the book in the cottage give some good ideas of where to try.

Fabulous relaxing May week at La Belugue

This is a lovely, comfortable and very well equipped house on the edge of a typical village. Both inside and outside the house has great areas for relaxing with the added advantage of a good sized pool. The couple who manage the property are close by and very helpful. The village has everything you need with a selection of cafes and restaurants and there is plenty to visit in the area if you are prepared to drive.

Well appointed villa

La Bélugue is a pleasant villa on the outskirts of the village of Flayosc, quietly situated at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is well appointed and well equipped with all that you could need for a perfect holiday in the Dracénie region, and it is ideally located to visit the whole region.

We were met by Judith, who manages the property and a few others in the area, and she showed us over the property and explained all the details of the house and the garden, including the lovely pool. On a couple of occasions when minor problems arose Judith responded immediately and sorted them out in short order, and was a friendly source of useful information about the area. The villa has an excellent air conditioning system and the furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. The garden is planted with trees and shrubs, and the pool is elegantly shaped and surrounded by more trees and shrubs inside a good safety fence.

The area is full of interesting places to visit, including bastide towns, local markets and the magnificent scenery of the Gorges du Verdun. The city of Nice is reachable by train from the nearby town of Les Arcs, and St Tropez can be visited by driving to St Maxime and taking the frequent ferry service across the bay. (Do not even think of driving there!)

Overall this was an excellent property, in an attractive region of southern France.

Superbe villa

Superbe villa au calme, bien équipée, agréable piscine protégée par une barrière empêchant l'accès aux enfants en bas âge. Dommage qu'il n'y ai aucune chaîne française à la télé, que des chaines anglaises ... Nous avons passé 2 semaines de vacances très agréables et espérons y revenir.

The Riviera is only a short drive away - St Maxime, St Raphael, Cannes, Antibes amongst many other Mediterranean towns and villages. Of course St Tropez is also easily accessible - but remember to take a water taxi from St Maxime in the summer months to avoid the traffic jams to this popular resort situated on a peninsula! Don't forget that there are also beaches at Lac St Croix which are much quieter and just as good if not quite as glamorous as the Côte d'Azur!


The villa is easily accessed by air (Nice 90 kms, Toulon 79kms and also Marseille), TGV train (Les Arcs-Draguignan - 15kms) and by road (Junction 36 at Le Muy, A8). Car hire is advisable if you wish to take advantage of all of the wonderful villages, the Gorges du Verdon and the coast. However, the village with a huge variety of shops and services is only 15 minutes by foot so visitors may be self sufficient without transport.


The lovely village of Tourtour is 13 kms drive. Les Arcs with its lovely medieval quarter is 15 kms. The fantastic Gorges du Verdon is less than one hour away. Avignon and its famous bridge is a 2 hour drive.

The village is well equipped with 2 small supermarkets, fresh fish shop, butcher, delicatessen,2 bakers, chemist, 3 doctors, a dentist, bank, post office, gift shops, 4 bars 2 of which serve food and (at last count) 8 restaurants! A famous truffle restaurant is to be found in a nearby village 15 minutes' drive away. The local town of Draguignan is only 8kms away and has large supermarkets and a variety of shops. Provençal markets are held in the local villages almost every day of the week: Monday Flayosc, Tuesday Lorgues, Wednesday Draguignan, Thursday Bargemom, Friday Le Luc en Provence, Saturday Aups and Draguignan amongst many others. Flayosc is ideally situated half way between the spectacular Gorges du Verdon and the sophisticated Mediterranean coast. From here you can easily visit Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes, St Tropez, Marseille and the wonderful cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Orange are accessible too.

Fees No additional mandatory fees
Refundable damage deposit $351.99
Stay tax $1.29 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the manager upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 18 years.

Booking Notes:
25% deposit is required to reserve the property. Full payment is required 60 days before the letting commences. 300€ damage deposit is payable in cash on arrival. This will be refunded by internet banking within two weeks of the end of the holiday minus any deductions for breakages or excessive cleaning.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually Saturday. Outside of the peak period of July and August this is flexible. Mid week changeovers may be possible during these months at a supplement of 100€.. Please enquire. Arrival should be after 16h00 and departure before 10h00.

Notes on prices:
Prices are inclusive of all utilities, cleaning before arrival and on departure and one set of linen including hand, bath and pool towels. A 25% deposit is payable upon booking and the balance due 60 days before arrival. 300€ damage deposit (refundable by bank transfer within 2 weeks of end of holiday) is payable in cash upon arrival.
