Ideally located for easy access from the M1 and the Peak District National Park. Church Farm Fritchley provides on the doorstep countryside, great for walking, cycling, mountain-biking and general enjoyment of the peak district. Enjoy a stroll down the Cromford Canal with its abundant wildlife and the rolling hills around Crich and South Wingfield. (Mary Queen of Scots once stayed at Wingfield Manor) Take a Day trip to visit Chatsworth House or experience the attractions and history of Matlock, Matlock Bath and the National Stone Centre near Wirksworth. The property has had a full renovation and includes an illuminated well feature in the farmhouse kitchen and original cruck beam on the staircase. Church Farm is well equipped for the most adventurous guests. Adventure seekers could try the watersports offered at Carsington Water or cycling along the Tissington and Monsal Trails, you can even drive a tram at the Crich Tramway Museum.

The house is a renovated farm house and we would prefer to discuss your requirements in detail to make sure we can accommodate you as much as possible to ensure you have a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.. Outside: Large Garden area available for guests with outdoor furniture. Utility Room: Large Fridge & Freezer with Washing Machine and dryer and sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, although we provide a cleaning service as standard after each guest, we ask you leave the property as you have found it. Other: Our entrance hall and main stairs were made from an original oak beam found in the adjacent barns! it makes quite a feature for the property.

Excellent base for exploring Derbyshire

The house is well appointed with everything you need for a weeks stay, we were 3 couples and a grandchild.

The house has plenty of room and allows everyone to congregate in the Lounge diner but also has another smaller lounge .The area is really rich to explore , we walked up to Crich , which has small supermarket , butchers , nice cafe and pub . Further up the road you get to the the Tower a war memorial with great views. The Tram museum was a good visit and very close . The Derwent Valley nearby is a World Heritage site and the massive mills with retail , museums and original machinery at Masson are a must . At the bottom of the Valley Cromford Canal is a nice walk and Cromford Village,Holloway, Matlock Bath and Belper are worth a visit .

Beautiful property and lovely owners!

We had a wonderful early Christmas celebration here-with accompanying snow storm. The house is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need from games to dog bowls, and everything in between. It's also a great location with two local pubs and plenty of Derbyshire walks on the door step. The owners couldn't have been more helpful when we couldn't get home because of the snow-allowing is to stay and extra night. Very generous. Thank you!!

Comfy beautiful house in loverly village

Thank you for making us so welcome . The house had everything you could ask for . Loverly beds and large rooms . Enjoyed the two sitting areas. The kitchen was very well equipped. Poss a few to many plates which men there wasn't a lot of cupboard space to store our food. Couldn't fault it and will definatly recommend. Jackie

Fabulous Farmhouse

Our stay at Church Farm was fabulous from start to finish. The Farmhouse catered for us all - 3 couples, one with a baby and a dog. The kitchen and dining area were a pleasure to cook and dine in and the 2 lounges were brilliant as we all didn't want to watch the same thing on TV in the evening or some of us just wanted quiet time. The family bathroom is amazing - the large shower and roll top bath with awesome views across the Peak. We had fab hot weather during our stay so we made a lot of use of the back garden and patio.

David and the guy living next door could not have been more helpful.

Church Farm Fritchley is a family owned house, run by David and Denise Bacon. The property was the family home for over 30 years is now used as a holiday home. We live only 30 mins away, and are always on hand to help guests with anything they might need. As a small family business it is really important to us that all our guests have a great holiday at Church Farm.

Why David Bacon chose Amber Valley District

The house was our family home in the small village of Fritchley, and we have renovated this property and decided to let the farmhouse out for holiday accommodation due to its location on the edge of the peak district and other local attractions, yet still having great access from the M1. As our once family home it is really important to us that our guests have a very enjoyable stay in Church Farm.

What makes this farmhouse unique

What makes Church Farm special is the amount of space provided for guests and beautiful rural views across the Derbyshire countryside from the rear garden, which also offers a BBQ and patio furniture for al fresco dining. Whilst still having many of its original features. the property has modern conveniences, extremely comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and provides direct access to the wonderful countryside and so many interesting places to visit, right from the front door.
