About Audrey Oakley
Born and bred in Wales, I am the daughter of a country doctor who had a deep knowledge and understanding of the countryside. As a child I used to accompany him on his visits, and was encouraged from an early age to appreciate and enjoy the countryside and rural life. Before I moved to west Wales I lived in Monmouthshire, running my own tourism business from a Grade 1 listed mediaeval home which I had restored over 20 years. I founded and continue to organise the annual unique and whacky award-winning Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival, now in its 10th year. I am passionate about promoting local and wild foraged foods. I also run a foraging business taking out groups or individuals.

Really Lovely Stay
Poppy Cottage is beautifully placed within St David's. It has everything you need for a really comfortable holiday. We don't have a dog, but we noticed it's even got little comfort things for dog's and their owners. We had a lovely welcome. It had been snowing before we got there and they made a cosy fire to warm us up upon our arrival. Audrey the owner was really helpful and friendly and was really easy to contact. The cottage was very clean and our bed was very comfy. It was within a couple of minutes walk from the shops and the cathedral. You can actually look down on the Cathedral and the Bishops Palace from the back window. It is also possible to walk to the coast path from Poppy Cottage, although these walks are obviously longer. We had a great stay and really hope to visit again.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay given the bad weather etc. We would love to have you return - lovley guests. Thank you so much.
Lovely, well equiped cottage in a great central location
A truely lovely cottage. We had a great week in beautiful St. Davids, so nice to spend time in a dog friendly cottage that felt smart and homely (no plastic leather sofas!).
Particularly liked brightness in the extended parts of this lovely cottage. A great base to explore beautiful Pembrokeshire
Thank you so much Vicki it was a pleasure having you stay! Hope you visit again.

Charming comfortable cottage
We had a fantastic fortnight at Poppy Cottage. It is very comfortable and spacious (we are a family of 4). It is ideal for exploring St Davids and the surrounding area. The coastal path is easy to reach from the house and St Davids itself has lots to offer. The cottage is kept to a high standard, with lovely furnishings and a well stocked kitchen, with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The garden is a lovely sun trap - overall a great place to stay!
