About Sue Favell

We live adjacent to the property and are almost always on hand to answer any queries and welcome our guests. We've lived in Edale for 44 years and love it; we want all our guests to experience and enjoy this very special place too.

Tony is a fanatical gardener and visitors love being able to sit in the garden and also wander around the surrounding 9 acres.

Sue Favell purchased this cottage in 1970

Why Sue Favell chose Edale

Beautiful area, small primary school for our children (now in their mid forties!) and a little railway with access to Sheffield and Manchester. It's a fabulous village in which to live - a tremendous community and there is still quite a large working farming population. Walks from the door in all directions, river access and views to die for!

What makes this cottage unique

Taylors Croft is unique in being just one cottage on its own (so no noisy neighbours). It is tranquil, rural and relaxing, but easily accessible by road or rail.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We've been 12 times so far!

This is the best cottage we've ever stayed in in Britain.

Fabulous cottage, garden and location - can't fault it.

Wonderful hospitality in hill walker's paradise

  • 5 of 5

A surprisingly spacious, beautiful cottage. Serious hill walking from the doorstep in all directions. Wow! And a very warm welcome from the owners, with gorgeous flowers from their wonderful garden.

A wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for four nights in this wonderful cottage, breath taking views from every window, the cottage was very comfortable with every thing you needed for a great stay. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay special, the welcome basket and wine was much appreciated after the drive. We will definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.

Owner's Response: Thank you Spud! We have just 10 days available still from 25th August (good deal), then plenty of room from the end of September.
