The apartment is situated on the third floor with no lift. The walk is worth it as the flat is stylish, comfortable, light and peaceful and has wonderful views down Queens Gate. It is situated in the heart of South Kensington within five minutes walk from "South Ken" Underground Station. Fully furnished with antique pictures and furniture in the traditional English style, its situation is perfect for a family of four or two couples wanting to explore the museums, parks, shops and restaurants of this safe and vibrant and truly international area of London, with some of the capital's top attractions situated only minutes walk away.

A further few stops on the tube takes you to theatre land and the other world famous attractions of London's west end. After a busy day site seeing or shopping, the Apartment is an oasis to return to. There are two spacious bedrooms one with double bed, over looking a quite mews and the second bedroom as twin beds, ideal for children. There is a top class Supermarket on the doorstep if you are wishing to eat in or the choice of dozens of restaurants and cafes in the street below. South Kensington has a French feel and many French nationals have made it their home ,with its many on street cafes were you can sit and watch the world go by. We have a strict policy of maximum 4 persons staying at the flat. It is No Smoking and it is illegal to smoke on the stairs.

Notes on accommodation: This flat is ideal for a family of four or two couples wanting to stay in the most sought after area of London. With its English style it offers chance to stay in a truly comfortable English setting and live the English dream during your stay. This is a NO SMOKING flat and it is illegal to smoke in any area of the building. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels will be supplied and the property would be cleaned with a linen change once a week. There may be separate arrangements for longer lets. Other: The apartment entrance leads in to an entrance hall and from there to the other rooms. Apart from the bathroom and kitchen which have Amtico flooring, the flat is carpeted throughout.

Real gem

A well appointed compact apartment in South Kensington that is an ideal location to explore London. It is a pleasant five to ten minute walk to the tube and the South Kensington Station can get you to most parts of London in no time. The museums and the Kensington Gardens are within easy walking distance as are the busy Gloucester Road with its shops and restaurants and the Fulham Road Cinema. A perfect place for a family of four that includes teenagers. It is not really a place for younger children and the three flights of stairs might be a struggle for some. For us it was a welcome chance to burn of some calories and a much more affordable alternative to the many posh hotels in this part of London.

Great apartment.

We stayed for a week in this wonderful apartment and were warmly greeted by Debbie. She was very thorough in providing us with information about the apartment and answered all of our questions.

The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The beds are very comfortable.

The kitchen has all the appliances that you could possibly need.

I am familiar with a gate leg table and we left it up during our stay, as we had many meals in the apartment. It is very close to the tube and it is a great location for exploring all of London.

There are pubs, restaurants, grocery stores and other shopping nearby.

We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property.

Our family of 4 loved our stay at this flat!

Our family of 4 loved our stay at this flat for 6 nights! It was in a superb location, just steps away from everything you could need for a fun filled time in London. The flat is very well equipped, we cooked or stayed in most nights . There are lots of breakfast places close by and we loved being able to walk to and from the Tube. The beds were to die for. Only downside might be the stairs,it's a bit of a climb but worth it. If we could manage it, anyone could! Thanks to Debbie and Sue -- easy peasy stay! Perfect for our before Christmas shenanigans with family.

Fantastic space in an incredible neighborhood

We loved staying in this sweet getaway in South Kensington. Beds were very comfortable (note to American travelers the "double" bed is an American "queen" size - a great surprise to us)! We spent our week in London walking and taking the underground everywhere, and this was a perfect, central location for our adventures. Thank you, Sue!

Great Location in a traditional building.

The location is excellent close to the subway and shops. South Kensington is an up market location so we felt very safe at all times. The apartment is just as the pictures show, it is spacious for 4 people and very clean. The only downside is there isn't really an area for you to eat as a family since the kitchen is narrow and only has space for a couple of seats. The beds were comfortable and the heating adequate with plenty of hot water. Checking in and out was easy.

Owner's Response: I was surprised at this review. There is a gate leg table in the sitting room which seats 6 persons and there are 6 dining chairs around the flat some in the bedrooms. Most people who want a family supper have put this table up at the end of the sitting room where there is plenty of space for six to eat at and it does not crowd the seating area. It has been commented on in some of the reviews and how much they enjoyed it. The kitchen has a pull up breakfast bar with three stalls and there is only room for three here. We recommend very young children eat here so they dont make the carpet dirty.

Travel:

Heathrow is 30-40 minutes by road. Gatwick 1 hour. 1hr 45 minutes to Channel tunnel. Car hire not necessary in London as there are regular buses and taxis and the Underground Station is 200 metres away. Piccadilly line tube to South Kensington is best way from Heathrow. Remember to buy an Oyster card for all your Tube and Bus travel during your stay. From Gatwick Airport. Take the Gatwick express, they sell tickets in the baggage hall which saves time. You arrive at Victoria and then take District or Circle line two stops to South Kensington. About 5-6 min walk to flat.

Distances:

8 Minutes walk to the famous South Kensington Museums, 5 minutes to Underground. 20 minute walk to Harrods and Kings Road. Hyde Park 15 minutes. Dozens of restaurants and cafes within the South Kensington area.

Further Details:

A small Waitrose is in the same block providing high class groceries on the next corner is an excellent Italian coffee shop. Christies South Ken Auction Galleries. Numerous restaurants serving every type of English or ethnic food. Farmers market in Bute Street at weekends. There is an excellent fish shop and green grocer in Bute Street.
