The apartment is situated on the third floor with no lift. The walk is worth it as the flat is stylish, comfortable, light and peaceful and has wonderful views down Queens Gate. It is situated in the heart of South Kensington within five minutes walk from "South Ken" Underground Station. Fully furnished with antique pictures and furniture in the traditional English style, its situation is perfect for a family of four or two couples wanting to explore the museums, parks, shops and restaurants of this safe and vibrant and truly international area of London, with some of the capital's top attractions situated only minutes walk away.

A further few stops on the tube takes you to theatre land and the other world famous attractions of London's west end. After a busy day site seeing or shopping, the Apartment is an oasis to return to. There are two spacious bedrooms one with double bed, over looking a quite mews and the second bedroom as twin beds, ideal for children. There is a top class Supermarket on the doorstep if you are wishing to eat in or the choice of dozens of restaurants and cafes in the street below. South Kensington has a French feel and many French nationals have made it their home ,with its many on street cafes were you can sit and watch the world go by. We have a strict policy of maximum 4 persons staying at the flat. It is No Smoking and it is illegal to smoke on the stairs.

This is a NO SMOKING flat and it is illegal to smoke in any area of the building. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels will be supplied and the property would be cleaned with a linen change once a week. There may be separate arrangements for longer lets. Other: The apartment entrance leads in to an entrance hall and from there to the other rooms. Apart from the bathroom and kitchen which have Amtico flooring, the flat is carpeted throughout.

South Kensington Gem

Great location for us. As pictured and much more spacious and comfortable than hotel rooms at the beginning of our visit to GB. Loved the easy walk to museums and the South Ken tube station. We were 66 and 69 years old and found the 70 stairs down to the front door not a problem. (And easier at the end of our 5 night stay). The binder about how to use appliances was helpful. Do empty the condenser on the dryer each time as they advise. Almost no noise heard from other units.

A Perfect Location

We were 2 senior couples who thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well equipped, wonderfully clean and very comfortable apartment. It was an inviting home away from home. The climb up to the apartment is significant, but for a healthy person with a good fitness level, totally worth the effort. As nice as the apartment was, its chief advantage is its location. It is a short walk to many significant attractions and the proximity to the subway system makes getting anywhere very easy. Sue, our host, was very helpful and thorough with communications. It is with confidence that I recommend this apartment.

Week Stay in London

Location ideal. Nearby S. Kensington tube station makes getting to all tourist sites most convenient. Suggested wording for directions from South Kensington tube station to flat -- "walk south for 5 minutes on Old Bromson Road, ON EAST SIDE OF ROAD. Entrance to flat prior to intersection of Old Bromson Road and Queens Gate." Very roomy flat, with kitchen, living room, bath room, and 2 bedrooms. Beds and pillows excellent. Full kitchen plus washer and dryer most appreciated. Walking up 3 flights of stairs will be difficult for anyone with walking challenges -- especially when handling suitcases.

Charming Kensington!!

The setting was lovely, spacious, and quiet while the location was perfect for us with reasonably close access to taxis and the underground. The kitchen was modern and convenient. Unfortunately, the hairdryer in the master bedroom didn't have a cord sufficiently long to reach the area of the mirror, and the extension cord provided with it didn't seem to be working.

Owner's Response: So glad that you enjoyed the flat and location. I am sorry you found the hair drying equipment in adequate but we do have very strict laws in England about length of hair dryer cords. This is to stop people plugging them in and walking into a bathroom with them to dry their hair, water and electricity being a lethal combination. There was a very long extension cord attached to the cloths dryer in the cupboard that you could have used. Thanks for renting our flat. Sue

Well located 2 bedroom apartment in South Kensington

Well located property in South Kensington with good transport links, local supermarkets and restaurants. The apartment was quite well equipped but not as functional and comfortable as it might have been. There were some minor maintenance issues which we noted for the benefit of the owner on leaving (not appreciated). The only serious negative was the stairs which become very steep from the third to fourth floor but contributed to our fitness program.

Owner's Response: Well you cant please everyone and from the beginning we thought these would be difficult guests. I would suggest that if they come back to London they perhaps spend more money and stay in a 4 or 5* hotel. I replied to some very trivial remarks like light bulbs broken. I rang and apologised and said bulbs do just go there are spares in the cupboard. The last tenants had chipped a couple of mugs, this happens and I never charge, they still had four bone china ones left. The stairs to the flat are stated in the overview of the flat very clearly and I always warn anyone that I know to be elderly about them. My husband is 70 and we still manage them fine but not everyone is fit. This is the first 3* rating in 3 years of renting so must say something about the people renting it rather than the flat.

Well positioned, beautiful and very comfortable

This flat was like living in home away from home. Very comfortable and able to accomodate 4 people easily. The flat was on the third floor which does not have a lift/elevator therefore be aware. The stairs were not problematic for us. The flat had ingredients for cooking, toiletries in the bathroom, wonderful works of art. It is very well situated to the tube station and a short walk from the wonderful museums and Harrods. The grocers are within minutes as are restaurants and bottle shops. The flat was very clean and, as mentioned before, very comfortable. Communication with Sue was prompt. We would highly recommend this flat and would stay again. 3👍?😊?. Thanks Sue and Debbie.

Travel:

Heathrow is 30-40 minutes by road. Gatwick 1 hour. 1hr 45 minutes to Channel tunnel. Car hire not necessary in London as there are regular buses and taxis and the Underground Station is 200 metres away. Piccadilly line tube to South Kensington is best way from Heathrow. Remember to buy an Oyster card for all your Tube and Bus travel during your stay. From Gatwick Airport. Take the Gatwick express, they sell tickets in the baggage hall which saves time. You arrive at Victoria and then take District or Circle line two stops to South Kensington. About 5-6 min walk to flat.

Distances:

8 Minutes walk to the famous South Kensington Museums, 5 minutes to Underground. 20 minute walk to Harrods and Kings Road. Hyde Park 15 minutes. Dozens of restaurants and cafes within the South Kensington area.

Further Details:

A small Waitrose is in the same block providing high class groceries on the next corner is an excellent Italian coffee shop. Christies South Ken Auction Galleries. Numerous restaurants serving every type of English or ethnic food. Farmers market in Bute Street at weekends. There is an excellent fish shop and green grocer in Bute Street.
