These apartments have been in our family for over 20 years and having grown up holidaying here we wanted to take them on to ensure our children, family and friends can continue to enjoy fabulous holidays by the see in Cala en Porter.

It's a safe, family friendly resort with an amazing beach and a great night life in the town, plus it's just a 20 minute bus ride away from the vibrant, historic and cosmopolitan city of Mahon. What more could you want?

What makes this apartment unique

The property enjoys stunning sea views from the balcony, perfect for soaking up the sun with a gentle sea breeze while you enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The apartments have a shared swimming pool just 15 meters from the front door where there is a spacious sun terrace and BBQ area all overlooking the sea.

The beach is a 10-15minute walk away and is perfect for familys with young children - its a sheltered horse shoe cove with shallow turquoise waters that could be mistaken for the Caribbean.

The town centre is a gentle 10 minute stroll from the apartments where there is a huge selection of family friendly restaurants serving food to suit everyone. The town also has a number of supermarkets all offering home delivery.

Notes on accommodation: The Manzana complex is family friendly, as are both of our apartments. We tend to recommend young children to stay downstairs due to tiled stairs and balcony of the upstairs apartment. If you need to hire a travel cot or high chair for your holiday, these can be arranged for an extra charge. You willl need to bring you own sheets for the cot. Please bring your own beach towels. Outside: Both apartments offer terraces in the order of 9m2 which allows for table and chairs for outside dining. The heated pool area, accessed via some steps is a private and secluded area with sun terraces, shower, seating and BBQ area

Nice quiet location, nice pool, fantastic beach. Lots of ants in the fabric of the building which was a shame as spoilt things a little. We were told that nothing could be done about this and it was just the way it was. So, if you don't mind ants then it's a nice apartment.

Great location. Apartment with room for improvement

The location:

Fantastic beach.

Clean and tidy everywhere.

Quiet, family-friendly. Not crowded at all.

The restaurants is typical "tourist"

We often went to Mahon, to eat in the evenings.

Mahon is a truly amazing little town, with lots of authentic local charm and good restaurants.

However, it requires a car or taxi (about 20 EUR) to get back home, as the last bus runs approx. 20.00.

The place:

Beautiful area, with stunning looks over the sea.

Very quiet surroundings.

Steep roads in the area.

Relative short distance to the beach, however, you have to climb a hard staircase with 200 steps on the way home.

The apartment:

The cleaning of the apartment, when we arrived, was VERY lacking.

The kitchen and the kitchenware was dirty.

As we did not want to spend our first day with complaining, we diswashed everything and cleaned the kitchen but that was a bad start..

There was also a very stuffy smell when we arrived. We ventilated as much as possible, but the smell never disappeared completely..

There is no air conditioning and we felt that it was a big problem. In the humid heat it was hard for us to sleep properly. There are fans in all bedrooms, but it didn’t really help..

The terrace:

Fantastic Seaview.

The terrace is not quite big.

A funny detail is that it is very oblique (about 4 degrees). No big problem, just a little weird to make it that way...

We missed an awning or sun sail, instead of having to bug around with the heavy parasol foot.

There was only four chairs (we stole one from the pool).

The pool:

Nice pool, located 10 steps from the apartment

Fantastic Seaview. Nice size, and good depth.


Ok kitchen. Nothing missing, except a dishwasher for the lazy guests.


Ok bathroom. We missed some hooks for the towels. There was none ...

The owner has been kind and helpful throughout the booking process.

It’s a very nice place to stay. We loved our holiday, but some improvements would make this apartment even better:

Owner's Response: This is a tough one to respond to as there's a lot in here that isn't specific to our apartment but I will address the points that are. As you will see from pervious reviews, we maintain a very high standard so I was dissappointed to learn of Lars's experience - particulary as the first we knew of it was 3 weeks after check out in the reivew. We always ask guests to make us aware if there any issues immediately so we can address them first hand and during their stay so you can get on and enjoy your holiday. We're very clear that we don't offer air con or wifi and the price of the apartments reflects that. The patio is built on an angle to prevent it flooding when it rains. Parasols are always provided and are the most practical solution for the location which given the sea views, can be windy. There are only 4 chairs on the terrace, the majority of our rentals are for 4 people or less (or include a baby) but there are additional chairs inside, on the rear patio or up by the pool which can be used if necessary. The apartment is built into the hill at the back, keeping it aired is important which is why the windows open in and the shutters lock from the inside. This means you can keep the air circulating but the apartment secure. If guests keep the shutters open and the windows closed, or only open on the tilt, in 30plus degrees the apartment will very quickly feel musty. I have added a housekeeping note about this to the information we provide. As cleanliness was such a priority for these guests, we were surprised to find one of the beds broken on their departure and for the team to have to spend double the usual amount of time cleaning the apartment ready for our next guests.

Amazing location, fantastic view.. beautiful apartment

We stayed for 5 nights.. had an amazing stay the apartment was beautiful, quiet had everything we needed... the view was gorgeous from balcony. The walk to beach Down was ok back up hard work lol but well with it.. a fantastic beach for all the family with reasonable beds. Town has a nice selection of restaurants and bars but found taxi cheap to Mahon to for good shopping and restaurants by the harbour.

Would definitely return and recommend ...

We really enjoyed our stay. A great location within walking distance of the beach

The apartment was well equipped and clean - great view over the sea and near to the pool, shops and within walking distance of the amazing 'cave' Leona was very helpful with all the info we needed and the whole process was very easy. we would definitely stay again

The 3rd bedroom is a little small and would be better for a child

Well equipped, clean villa with amazing views and a heated pool.

Walking distance to all areas of Cala n Porter, Leona was brilliant throughout the booking process and if we return to Cala n Porter we will stay here again. Recommended to friends and family.

A Slice of Heaven

Wow! Arrived late at night so got the surprise in the morning.What a view from the balcony. I think we would never tire of that view. Apartment was clean and well maintained. Lots of kitchen equipment, if needed. Fantastic pool. Close to the best beach in Menorca. Good selection of restaurants to suit all budgets. Especially liked the Le Velo Restaurant and Club Menorca makes great Sangria.Owners of this apartment are very helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Cala en Porter bay is a secluded and sheltered area with gently slopping sandy beach which is great for children. The bay attracts yachts and is great for swimming, snorkelling or just floating around.


The main airport at Mahon is within 15 mins drive of the resort. Car hire is available with all the benefits it offers although a taxi to the main centre of Mahon very easy and affordable as is the bus which departs from the area at regular intervals and costs around 2 Euro and takes just 20 minutes. The main port and capital of the Island, Mahon offers great shopping, eating and sight seeing around one of the largest natural harbours in the Northern Hemisphere.


The apartment is within easy walking distance of the main centre of Cala en Porter which is in turn;

11km / 15mins from the Airport

13Km / 20 mins from the centre of Mahon
