Villa Sainte Marie is a friendly holiday home in the picturesque town of Pezenas. There is a shared pool on the complex. The complex is in a gated domain of just 70 houses. This is an ideal secure family based holiday area, where you can spend days lazing by the pool or being more adventurous with days out visiting neighbouring villages and towns, the beach or Aqualand. There is a weekly market in Pezenas on a Saturday, and during the summer there is a food festival one evening per week which is a fantastic way to taste local food and wine.

About Emma Martin
Steve and Emma Martin bought Villa Sainte Marie in January 2012. We have holidayed in the Pezenas area for more than 10 years and finally decided to buy a property a year ago. We have three children, aged 19, 17 and 13, and they still enjoy coming on holiday with us - it is really a home from home now! We have found there is plenty for the children to do, swimming in the pool, going to the beach where there are water sports, visiting the fun fair at Vias Plage and Marseillan Plage, Aqualand at Agde, canoeing at St Guillem, and high ropes at Agde. For us adults, there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to relax in.

Why Emma Martin chose Pézenas
Emma's parents bought a house on the Coteau ten years ago, and we have holidayed with them ever since. When the opportunity to buy our own house came about we could not resist!!

lovely holiday stay
We had a really enjoyable stay at this delightful holiday home. Very comfortable and furnished very well with everything for a super holiday.
We were a group of two middle aged adults and our 17 year old son.
The pool area was good ( cannot take chairs though to sit on around the outside). The layout of the complex is well designed and each residence has privacy and its own parking place.
Pezenas is a lovely town and we didn't have time to explore all we would have liked. It has a lovely atmosphere in the evenings ( we were there on Bastile evening, music and fireworks).
My son really enjoyed Vias plage ( about 20 mins drive), ignore the touristy shops as you enter the resort, don't let this put you off as the beach is rather special. There was a special area set aside for sports and football and all ages and nationalities join in with football being a universal language !
Plenty of supermarkets nearby to get provisions, and the complex is set just far enough away from the town but still easy to walk to town if you want to.
We were very sad to leave and would certainly recommend this lovely home to anyone wanting to stay in this area.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday.
The Villa Sainte Marie is in a gated community of villas (a lottissement as the French call it) so you don't get any unwanted visitors. Privacy is good and you get a dedicated parking space, but be aware it is only possible to get to the villa from the car park via a narrow flight of steps and paths so it may not suit people with walking difficulties.
It is a great place for relaxing, whether on the patio with a beer under the parasol, or in the pool which, though shared, was never crowded, and a good place to meet other residents from a multitude of countries. The patio is south-facing so you can enjoy the sun from early morning to about 2100 when it disappears behind the hill. The villa itself is modern, well maintained and has everything you might need including plenty of bedding should it get cold (it didn't!), kitchen equipment to do basic cooking, a barbeque, a TV and satellite receiver which even had a few English-speaking news channels and a small music centre with an ipod and aux input which we used to listen to our favourite radio stations via the excellent wifi. There's also a table tennis table should you feel energetic. You should be aware there is a busy road not far away which is quite noisy, and there is a street lamp beside the patio, so if you leave the bedroom windows open because it's hot (it was) you may find them irritating, however there are fans provided in both bedrooms should you wish to close the windows and shutters. The lottissement is on the edge of town so it's a 15 - 20 minute walk to get into the town centre, but there is an Intermarche supermarket and a DIY shop not far away from the villa from which you can get most of your requisites. The town sports a large Carrefour supermarket, a Lidl, an Aldi and a pharmacy, as well as a MacDonald's, and the lovely main street has a multitude of cafes, restaurants and fascinating shops, and hosts a fabulous market every Saturday. The Old Town is very interesting architecturally and has lots of artisans' workshops/shops, as well as yet more bars and cafes etc.
I found the owner to be very helpful, who quickly resolved a problem when it occurred. We intend to return!
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Do come again.
Villa Sainte Marie, Pezenas
I stayed at Villa Sainte Marie for a week with a friend and we had a fab time! The house is in a great location, easily accessible and has great facilities. It is a real homely place with plenty of privacy. The pool is very close and has a beautiful view! The whole town of Pezenas has a very laid back vibe and is the perfect place to relax!
Really liked it being within a gated, secure community whilst still less than 15 min walk to the town centre, so I enjoyed the daily task of walking to buy the fresh baguettes, croissants & pain au chocolats. The property itself was clean upon our arrival, is private, easy to manage, and has a lovely courtyard which became the main area for us each meal time and generally during our time there. The owner gave us thorough arrival instructions and good customer service. Pezenas itself is a beautiful old town, with plenty of restaurants and cafes; road connections to other parts of the Languedoc-Roussillon region make this an ideal base from which to explore. The climate here is understandably warm in summer so the shared swimming pool on site was very welcome. I would definitely recommend this property to friends. Would love to go back again sometime hopefully soon.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. Please come again.
