Great home base in Barcelona
This was a nice place to rest our heads in Barcelona. The apartment was in a good location, a large park across the street to relax in and the beach was about 8 blocks away. Barcelona is a city that is devoted to the pedestrian. We were able to walk to the grocery store, bakeries and restaurants. The apartment is located in an old industrial section that has become residential. The closest subway is only 3 blocks and we found we could get anywhere in the city with-in 10 to 45 mins. We used the 10 trips for 10 Euro cards and found it a great way to get around.
The apartment is large for European standards. The bedrooms were good, with actual comfortable mattresses and linens. The kitchen had everything we needed and was large enough that both of us could move around in it. The balcony was more of a terrace, running beside the whole apartment. It has 2 seating areas and you can go into any room from it.
Yes there is a building going up across the street, and a kids playground and dog walking place. However, it was fine, just the sights and sounds of people living there lives in the big city.
Barbara was easy to deal with, friendly and always attentive. She always responded to any questions right away and she was pleasant and kind.
The pictures do the apartment justice and are a good representation of what your getting. This was one of the best places in Europe we wave stayed in!
We would stay again if in Barcelona for sure.
Nice apartment, bright and roomy, well equipped, perfect for families. Nice quiet building, private, supermarket and transport close by.
Perfect location and easiest booking from start to finish!
Price and reviews are my top reasons for choosing anything and this stay was nothing different.
Although I never met Barbara I felt as if I had made a friend so helpful and prompt was she with responses. As mentioned in previous reviews, Venus is wonderful too even with her limited English she provides a very warm welcome!
Place is perfectly located for restaurants,
Metro, Lidl and the beach, all within an easy, short walk. The Metro system is incredibly easy to use and very cheap, we used it all the time and easily accessed various places as far away as the Nou Camp stadium or close by as my new favourite area, the Gothic quarter (I'd been to Barcelona once before and not discovered it then).
So many different restaurants nearby but we did return to one during our stay, Colom which served exquisite steak and individual paella as opposed to the more commonly available, one to share. Lovely service too, appears to be a family run business?
The big selling point was the pool which we used daily, usually having it to ourselves, unheated but beautiful once you're in!
There was building work going on directly opposite the apartment but being in a city with all the associated noises it did not spoil our experience, in fact it was interesting watching them work as we ate breakfast on the balcony and as we were out most of the day it was not an issue...life does not stop just because some people are on holiday and we understand that. Saying that, with the doors closed and aircon on you wouldn't know it was happening anyway!
Would recommend although maybe not for more than four guests, storage would be limited plus queues for the one bathroom, four adults coped fine though. To be honest, the rates are so competitive, I'd stay again with just two of us.
Thanks Barbara, hope to be a guest of yours again one day.
Great apartment, very clean, lovely pool, excellent location.
Apartment was in a great location, 2 minute walk to metro and then 10 minutes to centre of Barcelona. 15 minute walk to local beach. Lots of places to eat in local area. Apartment was modern, clean and well equipped. We loved the balcony and pool. The lady who did the check in did not speak English and we did not speak Spanish but she got the owner on FaceTime from New York to assist, she also walked us to a local supermarket late at night. Would definitely recommend.
Terrific apartment and neighborhood!
Everything went smoothly, from prompt and helpful communications with the owner, easy introduction to the property and how things work, and flexibility on our last day. The apartment was comfortable and well-appointed, though we didn't use any appliances except the fridge. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace each evening but never did use the inviting pool, since we were out and about most of the time!
Poblenou is a wonderful neighborhood, and the apartment location was great for leisurely walks along old streets, good restaurants, and access to the metro and bus system (which were easy to use). Both the apartment and the neighborhood would be good for family visits. Enjoy!
My friend and I stayed here for a week during our trip to Barcelona. It's light and bright and very comfortable. The pictures are accurate. It is a 5 minute walk to the Poblenou metro station which made it very easy to access all of Barcelona. There is a grocery store down the street, and multiple fruit stands, cafes and restaurants within 10 minute walk and the beach is a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. The only suggestions for improvement would be to add a full-length mirror (women need this!!), provide more paper products and liquid or bar soap for the bathroom and one more set of towels. Should I return to Barcelona I would definitely stay here again!
Our flat is registered at the "registre de Turisme de Catalunya" and thus has an official license as tourist flat (nr.HUTB-008467).
