The building offers a variety of sun terraces and a rooftop swimming pool with views to the sea & to the mountains. The well maintained entrance to the building features a traditional Canarian style, open, inner courtyard with a fountain. There is plenty of parking space right outside the complex.
Hi there, I have been living in Valle Gran Rey for 13 years and I love it!
After arriving with a rucksack and a guitar and little else, I managed to find my feet here on the island and now consider it home.
Having done various jobs, ranging from singer to cleaning lady, I have finally found my niche managing rental apartments.
I am a sociable, easy going person and take great satisfaction in ensuring that my guests have a fabulous holiday.
Not being a person who enjoys being in built up soulless "tourist ghettoes", but instead enjoys nature and village life I was lucky enough to find Valle Gran Rey. I knew I wanted to be in the Canaries because of the great climate and relative political tranquility, being part of Spain. The vibe here is more South American as the island has strong ties to Venezuela and the locals are easy going.
The island is spectacular and there really is something here for everyone, hikers, sun worshippers, spiritualists, philosophers, foodies, yoga practitioners, music lovers, linguists & even the odd bit of low-key nightlife.
Another thing I love about the place is that it's virtually crime-free. I lost my purse once & had it returned a few days later by complete strangers who had tracked me down.
The apartment is right on the seafront opposite the "Baby Beach", Charco del Conde. It offers a private balcony with dramatic sunset views plus various shared sun terraces on the top of the building so from sunrise to sunset there's always the possibility of catching some rays. Another feature is the rooftop swimming pool, for those who prefer not to venture into the sea, with views to the ocean & to the mountains.
The apartment has been redecorated to give it style, quality & comfort.
The typical twin beds with worn out, lumpy matresses, which are prevalent in most holiday apartments, have been exchanged for a new, good quality King-sized bed & matress. A washing machine has been installed for guests' convenience plus a dining table & chairs to replace the former knee-high breakfast bar
A fantastic apartment. We have stayed in various places in Valle Gran Rey and this was the best location for us. The apartment had excellent cooking facilities and space and it was great to watch the sun set on El Hierro, the last of the Canary Islands. Emma was delightful and keen to make everything work, eg cleaning. April/May was a good time for us to stay as it is very quiet. We shall certainly return. We loved the port and the view by Telemaco (round the corner ) and walked to La Playa often. Shopping is easy with the Spar shop so close and open 08 to 08 except on Sundays. We watched a boat full of tuna being supplied with ice at El Puerto. There are many excellent restaurants nearby. A fantastic holiday. Thanks Emma.
Loved la Gomera. One of our very best holidays. Wonderful island. Accommodation was great; clean, compact and had everything that we needed. Location was ideal, near to restaurants and all amenities, opposite the sea, west facing so enjoyed watching the sun set. Would recommend without hesitation. Thank you Emma.
This is a lovely apartment with a fantastic private balcony with a sunset, sea view. It is clean and well maintained, light and airy - a perfect escape from the hot weather outside the apartment. Also in the apartment is a beautifully decorated bedroom, with a very comfortable kingsize bed.The front entrance is really something else, with fresh flowers surrounding the charcoal fountain which really adds character to the already delightful building. On top of the building is a clean, quiet pool which has a fabulous view of the island and the sea. Beneath the pool is a stone tiled deck where you can make the most of the beautiful weather and tan on the lounge chairs. Also beneath the pool are toilets and showers so you don't need to trail to and from your room. Emma is a fantastic host and gave us a very warm welcome and had time to answer any queries we had. Overall, it is a fantastic apartment on an extraordinary island with lots to explore and I would certainly recommend it to any future holiday makers!
Thanks to Emma for her kind welcome to Valle Gran Rey. This was our first visit to La Gomera, but it definitely won't be the last. The apartment was very comfortable and well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed watching the sun set as we sat out on the balcony. The location of the apartment complex was perfect - we spent most days walking between Vueltas harbour and La Calera beach. Whale/dolphin watching with the company 'Tina' was fabulous. This destination is perfect for those looking for a relaxing, Canarian break without the bright lights and hustle and bustle of some other very commercialised resorts. We loved it!
We are very happy that we chose this accommodation for our 9 day stay. The appartement is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. It is quite perfectly situated: the balcony has a see view and there are three different beaches within a short walking distance. The neighbourhood is really nice and has several restaurants, shops and car rentals. Emma is very welcoming and knowledgeable, and you can find useful information material and leaflets in the appartement - no need to even go to the tourist information desk! We found Valle Gran Rey a wonderful place for relaxing, hiking and enjoying whale watching trips. It is also a good starting point when exploring the beautiful island. We definitely recommend and hope to go back there!
firstly Emma could not have been more helpful !! the villa is on the sea front, with plenty of parking, the entrance/courtyard is beautiful !! the apt is well maintained and clean !, the bed is very comfortable, the balcony view is really something, a view of the ocean to the right and to the left the fantastic little beach with the biggest rock pool we have ever seen (great to swim in and we enjoyed feeding the little fish in the rock pool with a piece of bread made into a ball" fantastic" our over all view of the apt/beach/restaurants/village and the island of gomera is 10/10

The nearest beach is literally across the road.
To arrive at your accommodation you would fly to Tenerife South airport.
Take a bus or taxi to the port of Los Cristianos (20 mins).
Take the ferry to San Sebastian (50 mins).
Take a bus (2 hours), taxi or hire car (1 hour) to the village of Valle Gran Rey.
The nearest shop/supermarket is 2 minutes walk away as are the nearest restaurants & bars. The bank is about 5 minutes walk away. Although very conveniently situated the apartment is very quiet & tranquil.
Far from the mass tourism type resorts of the Canaries, Valle Gran Rey is renowned for it's laid back, colourful atmosphere.
Excellent for hiking and with a myriad of micro climates.
You can be exploring the misty fairytale forest and 20 minutes later enjoying sunbathing on the beach.
Valle Gran Rey is the preferred visitor destination on the island because of the sunnier weather and the dramatic setting.
There are lots of esoteric type activities on offer all around the village from meditation to tantric dance, drumming sessions to reiki healing.
Lots of shops cater for vegans & vegetarians so that soya milk & tofu etc. are not difficult to come by.
